Be'lakor is so damned (pun intended) cool. He is by far my favourite character in 40K, AoS and Fantasy Battles. And his new model is the greatest thing ever. My personal headcanon is that back in the World that Was, the ubspeakable thing he did to gain the Gods favor and ascend was whatever collapsed the gates and let Chaos in.
I adore the Legion of the First Prince. Its always been a gun concept. It makes me think of the old days when all the chaos factions had one book. We get daemons, mortals, and mutants all together serving the dark prince. I have a small collection of daemons painted specifically in Be'lakors shadow colours to show they serve him, and with this, I can't wait to play them. Also i do like the Legionaires. Like I remember the lore from their first release, about how much like their master they stick to the shadows, on the outskirts of grest chaos war hosts. They analyze people, trying to find ones that could be tempted to serve Be'lakor. The new recruits are brought in, indoctrinated to serve, then sent to the Centurian's to be trained. I think thats cool how much like Be'lakor built his power in the shadows, his eervants emulate it to build his armies.
I was building Legionnaires while listening to this, I'm pumped for the new army of renown! My only complaint is that I wish all the Armies of Renown we had were as interesting in list building/playing as the Legion of the First Prince is on paper. I'd love if GW took a second swing at the Swords of Chaos and Tribes of the Snow Peaks since they're not printed in the book.
I still think it's Archaon making the big brain moves. Yes, Belakor broke the cycle of reforging, but Archaon is playing with Gods! He killed Nagaash, he found Slaanesh, he made Skaven ascend to the pantheon. But I can see how boots on the ground wouldn't see this and move towards someone acting more locally
Games with playable factions do well when they give players strong hooks to hang their hats on. When they have "teams" that draw lines in the sand and tell players to pick a side. It gets people invested in the world, its factions, and the conflicts between them. This works both between armies and, as we see here, within them. Even inside Slaves to Darkness, there's not just one way to play. There's texture, variety, choice, and opportunities to personalize Your Dudes. Like, a player going really hard into the Archaeon side of S2D is going to collect and paint a way different army than a player going really hard into the Be'lakor side. That's fun to me.
I love that belakor was voiced by the same guy who played thorin okenshield in the hobbit movies in total war warhammer 3. One could say he died a hero and lived long enough to see himself become the villain at the same time. 😮
I think Be'lakor would have made a better 5th choas god rother than the horned rat. he could have been the choas god of fear, darkness and envy as shown in his personality
I really don't like how all the major players of chaos is undivided and the God factions reduced to side characters, imo the Great game isn't being played as long as undivided is at the helm it's more like the great Corporation, Smh and it's the same in 40k there's abaddon and horus, aos archaon and belakor and old would the 13 everchosen, the god factions never get a chance to be a god level threat, and my main problem is it's been years of aos and Archaon fails so many times but gets no punishment why would khorne keep supporting that loser smh and Archaon story is dragging so much ill be 40 and we'll still talking about this guy. Sorry to sound like a negative nancy but i'm just tired of undivided being the center peace of everything as you said even skavenblight will get overshadowed by whatever Archaon and be'lakor got going on smh.

Thank you for making the hobby better! Someone once bought me a box of marine when I was a little one, today I give back!

Love your lore videos sometimes I fall asleep listening to your lore list
Be'lakor can do whatever he wants, but he'll always fumble right at the goal line
I do kinda miss the days when damon princes could be undivided.
Woohoo 🙌 more lore!
I want to see one of them work towards freeing Slaanesh
Man I love your videos.
Can you do a review of the squig bottle opener?

First!
I cleared off the bots just to make sure of it! ;)

This is what happens when you make main characters and then become afraid to kill or replace them.
@@Tom-bf2nm Yeah i agree with you it happens for order factions too but it's not nearly as bad
