Agree with your analysis. That $50 original price was a nonstarter. I got the whole wave from Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, and Ollie’s paying $8 (Ross, Ollie’s) to $12 (TJ Maxx/Marshalls). I got the hoops from Ross for $3. I like the figures. For $30, I would have gotten the 90’s NBA players/legends. I wish they tried the NFL figures (for $30 not $50) before cancelling the line, as I follow NFL much more.
I've only been able to find Ja Morant. I agree, the quality is pretty good. The shoe sculpts are really good. The jerseys looked super bulky in all the promo pics, but they really aren't bad. Youre right about these needing to be older legends like Jordan, and Bird.
Them skipping the NFL to be "hip" with this modern ball-playin' crew was a HUGE misfire ...It took more than a couple lay-ups to bank your own fig back in the day
I'm 21 and I collect figures. There are more younger collectors than you think, though we do tend to have much smaller collections. However, younger collectors are going to generally have nerdy interests (MCU, anime, etc) which don't align with the basketball theme.

Man, I was so hyped for this and they dropped the ball (pun intended). They could have just started with legends first for wave 1 and nobody cares about the brands they wear. Team jerseys are enough imho, no need to pay Nike/Adidas etc.

Exactly. An older basketball fan would doesn't watch anymore would buy Jordan. A younger fan, would also buy Jordan.
