What to Expect at Your First Orangetheory Fitness Class

- Arrive at least 30 minutes early for your first Orangetheory Fitness class for an opportunity to meet with your coach to discuss your goals and fitness journey. Your coach will walk you through what the day’s class entails, teach you the Orangetheory lingo and help you with any modifications to make sure you get the most out of your workout. The combination of the treadmill, rower and floor exercises promises a full body cardio and strength training workout every time, but you’ll never do the same exact workout twice. It’s your choice whether you want to walk, run or jog on the treadmill, or even bike instead - our fitness program is for all levels and your coach can help customize it to you. We will loan you one of our OTbeat heart rate monitors and sync it to your heartbeat so you can see in real time how many calories you’ve burned, how many steps you’ve taken and how many Splat points you’ve earned in the Orange Zone.
Did my first class today! It was great!! I felt like I was going to pass out at the end though but I did feel great
Yeah because youre literally killing yourself
And... 9 months later???? You're ripped???
feeling like you are going to pass out at the end is a little scary for this 72 year old !
i did my first class today. it's simple and easy, but engaging :) i got 36 splat points
That's good! You'll find as you get more fit, you'll get fewer splat points or have to work harder to earn them. Enjoy!
I got 42 splat points in my first class today!
I’ll show you splat points ;))
jk I’m sorry it was just too difficult to resist
I'm 4.5 years in and still love it, basically, if you like cardio it's for you. Anyone commenting who hasn't taken the class is just full of it and is also likely not to get off the couch anyways.
What if I hate running but love rowing?
@@Stower2422 then buy a rower and stare at your wall at home and row
@@Stower2422you can use the bike or strider or walk on the treadmill
@@haleyschneickert I love running but it destroys my spine, I would use the bike or do a brisk walk on the treadmill
or doesn't want to pay for over priced cardio lol
I did my first class. I loved it but I almost died lol
Lol I’m going tomorrow for my first free class
Same I actually lost conscious twice and had to be rushed to the ER. But I was fine after my first visit.
@@ericlewis5628 omg I’m looking to try it but I’m freaking out. I might die 😆
Literally on my way to my first class right now
Terrified of this
I took this class today for the first time mannnn it was totally worth it
I also did my first class today. The staff was friendly, and I went at my own pace during the workout. Love how we get to see our stats live on the screen. Really motivating!
I haven’t worked out in probably 6 years but 3 kids later I need something like this to motivate me as a normal gym isn’t working. My main concern is getting a back injury from not easing back into fitness. I’m also one month post partum so an injury with a newborn would suck. Hopefully the classes aren’t too big so they can really focus on your form.
K Emm - did you try the class? How do you like it?
Agnieszka S yes I have done about 6 classes so far. I really like it but it’s intense. The coaches really push you which is what I need.
@@kemm2666 I know! That's why I love it!!
@@kemm2666 Ok so your post is exactly me right now two small kids and a 2 month old that left me with a weak knee and back issues. Did any postpartum aches get aggrevated for you? Do you find its worth the money?
@@danielabernal9026 I got injured and ended up cancelling my membership over a year ago. I got back into intense workouts too quickly postpartum. I ended up with bursitis in my knee and a hairline fracture in my tibia (this was an old injury that I re fractured doing box jumps) The cancellation policy was a huge hassle as well. We have invested in a home gym and I am much happier and reaching my goals.
Been working out at Orangetheory for over a year now and love it.
I just started, did you found results? And how often do you train?
I wanna try it, I know they have a free class, but 169 a month is a hell of a lot of money, I can understand why they charge so much because it’s practically a personal trainer and a gym in one. It’s just so expensive for a broke b like me 😂
more like $199
@@camaleon18 why the 199?
It’s literally the opposite of a personal trainer. There’s one group leader for an entire class. You’re buying the fitness machines for them.
WTF. Thought it was culty as it is. $200 a month? Lol@@camaleon18
Wife and I signed up, start Monday!
Just joined on Sunday. Love it!
Do you still love it? I’m considering joining.
@@fullcasitafullheart9476 I’d like to know too :-)
My first class is tomorrow night! Super excited
Hi everyone! Does Orange Theory recommend you eat before you go to class?
has anybody seen results? Is it good for losing a lot of weight?
I’m about to walk into my first class and I’m scared as heck. I know it will be worth it though.
How was it ?
I'm doing my first today. Scared.
How was ur first class? I’m thinking about signing up
@@candice783 hard, but fun. I've gone 4 times since lol
@@christenazimmerman6656 my first day is tomorrow I’m so nervous. But I need to get out of this funk I’m in and I think the workouts will help with my mood🙏🏽
❤I loved it!
The music is a nightmare but I do my workouts there like it is a job.
🤣
A job you have to pay monthly for. No sale.
i turned 14 a month ago and my mom is like “you’re coming with me and trying it” so we’ll see how that goes lol
how did it go ????
I want to try them out but I have flat feet so my balance is not great plus strain on my lower back. Still Worth it to go?
I am so brutally out of shape and the people I see walking out of OTF (I live next to one) are like…ripped 😭 do I still go I’m so intimidated
You should only do things that are easy that way you never fail
Did you ever go? Did you become ripped?
@@run8196I saw her leaving yesterday. She was 400 pounds of muscle and walking her husband on a leash.
My neighbor does it. Her physique has no tone or definition. I actually scoff at the gym because of her poor results but it might just be her body type.

Why does Orangetheory play Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus so much? Is there a message they're trying to get through?
Is it the same class every time or are the routines different?
watch this video, they literally answer that question
This is harder than I thought. And this is coming from someone who use to do crossfit 😂
Its looks crowded....why is everyone so close together????
I did my first class! Wow 33 splats
I am brand new to OFT. Yesterday was my second day. I took a picture of the tv screen to see my results. I was wondering if someone can please explain these numbers to me:
Grey 7
Blue 8
Green 17
Orange 20
Red 5
Splat 25, Fire symbol 789, Heart Symbol 135 and heart/heart symbol 76%
I am so confused. Is this good or bad? Hopefully someone who's been there for a long time can explain this to me
Did the coaches or staff not explain anything?
@@pimpmycoolwheels no
if u still need it grey is like resting heart rate blue is level above green is moderate orange is the sweet spot where your burning most calories and red is intense all out
The instructor shld explain to you
Gettin ready to get my arse destroyed 😆
Any online workouts?
Jordan Yeoh here in youtube. I lost thirty pounds messing with him. Do the 31 day challenge.
Heard it's expensive
Do they take insurance and what insurance do they take
Bruh 😂
Wow the ones in Hawaii don’t look this nice sad
I m trying to loose weight but not happened after 5 months so what's wrong
Check your diet. Remember 80% is nutrition and 20% exercise. If your diet is clean then you’re eating too many calories. Ask your OT trainer.
Calories in calories out
Your body has adapted to manual calorie burn. You’ve become more efficient with the exercise. This is a terrible modality for long term fat loss/ muscle gain success. Ditch this crap and start a proper resistance training plan, mostly compound movements with heavy weight in a rep range that doesn’t exceed 20 reps per set. Switch rep ranges every 4-8 weeks. Rest for a couple minutes between each set. 2-3 days a week for 30-45 min. Add a little light/moderate cardio, 20-30min a day/ 3-5 days a week. Don’t drink your calories. Limit processed food. Make sure you get enough protein.
@@finch2213 nice 👍 I am joining 24/7 as otf not helping much
@@abinasroy check out mind pump podcast. They post their podcasts to TH-cam.
I'm kinda fat. Is this for ppl like me?
Of course it is! There's no judgement and can improvise moves if you're not there yet. You're only competing with yourself.

That's what I'm wondering too. I would only go if there's cute girls there to talk to in class.

Sooo.... it's a knock off of crossfit
Do you see any barbells, wooden boxes, or pull-up bars?
But worse lol
@@garouthetiktokinfluencerhu9731 I’ve done both extensively and they’re both great depending on your goals or focus. If you want to become a better distance runner or hockey player do OTF. If you want to build strength and play football do CrossFit. 🤷🏻♂️
@@BrettRuiz585 agree to disagree 😅
Glad you liked it
You don’t have to do any horrible pretend powerlifting or kipping motions, so points for that.
