Nice I’m a Harley mechanic and it’s the same process to rebuilt a set of forks you might have helped me out biggggg time where do we buy the rebuild kit ?
Nice job. I'm trying to find why after replacing with a brand new strut I get a clunking sound when the car is shaken (like speed bumps). 3 screws up top and 1 big one underneath...all tight. Could a defective strut have something loose inside is what I'm trying to figure out...is it even possible?
Did you have the noise before replacing the strut ? Or it started after replacing the strut . I would double check all the bolts . I wish I could hear the noise to be able to assist better. But it’s unlike that the strut it self would make the noise .
@@eagoleye after replacing the strut. When the old strut blew, I did have to ride on the right bump stop for a few miles, so something could have been damaged. It sounds like something is moving freely back there. Seeing in the video how tight everything is in the strut, I doubt it's the strut as well. I guess I'll just have to take apart the rear...thx for the reply!
It dose not need a calibration if you are using the original struts with its module. But if you replace the strut is will need a PROGRAMING and the ride hight calibration my friend.
Hi , i think my bmw e66 air suspension has leaks , the car sagging on down low . Anyway I bought an another air suspension from a brand named Kaxton air suspension. The part number matched the original bmw suspension part number , but the length of the kaxton air suspension is around 4 to 5 inches shorter in length compared to original bmw air suspension. Is it going to be a problem if i install the shorter Kaxton suspension on my e66
I’m not sure. The night is important , but you can try installing the shorter strut and performer a right height adjustment. If you don’t get an error you will be fine, otherwise you’ll have to find the correct size. Call dealership with your vin number and get the correct part number and try to find the right rebuild kit. Hope it’s helpful .

We use ISTA which is original BMW software to program a brand new strut. But when you rebuild the strut no Programing is needed.
If the actual cylinder is damaged then you would have to replace the strut with used or new. The repair kit only have the seals and orings.
Красавчики сделали четко
Great video, out of curiosity where can I get the seals

Gear video, Very informative. During the strut break down the black cylinder where the o rings go is where the hydraulic fluid is?
There is no hydraulic fluid. It’s an air suspension .
Great Video and thanks ( tiny tiny thing... @ min 10 I think you forgot to put on the 4th ring ). But really, very very much appreciate your video
no hi didnt
Interesting. There are 3 black rubber seal and one green seal that come with the kit. The top ring is great there rest are black 🙏🏻
Nice video.
Can I remove it to but coil spring in, my air not working right
good vdo
Than you!
It looks like self levelling suspension. Do they need calibration after reconditioning and refitting?
It dose not need a calibration if you are using the original struts with its module. But if you replace the strut is will need a PROGRAMING and the ride hight calibration my friend.
Do you use Vaseline instead of grease?
Either one would work 😁
