BMW 750LI Suspension Air Compressor Replacement

  • This is a 2010 BMW 750LI that is equipped with rear air suspension. The rear started sagging and the air compressor was the culprit. So changing a suspension air compressor on one of these is not all that hard but just takes a little bit of time and a lot money for the compressor itself. Job calls for like 2 to 3 hours of labor but can be finished quicker.

      Check your struts before doing the compressor because they will do the same thing as this one was doing as well.

    Is there any danger in the bags decompressing air when you release the blue and red air lines. Thank you for your time and video it was very helpful.

      I have never had it happen to me but there is always a chance something could happen. So, I always have the jacked up with a jack stand in case something like that was to happen.

    What part of South Carolina are you located? The same side (rear passenger) as your video is sagging in my 2013 BMW 740 Li. I am in west Columbia.

    Good video, will it solve chassis problem that makes front suspension goes down flat, when I press the level bottom the suspension goes up but it later deflates. It’s a 2017 bmw 7 series

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it raises it up then deflates I would suspect either a leaking air strut, air line, fitting, or manifold at that point.

      @@operationoverhaul yup, I think that'll be helpful for others as well, although I'm gonna let the mechanic do it as the bottom of my BMW 5GT on driver side is covered with a black plastic n I don't know how to remove it, making it impossible to reach the last bolt. Cheers mate.

    im seriously not trying to sound stupid, but is bmw's air suspension just the rear? and is replacing the compressor and modules etc, everyrhing but the springs that easy to access? im asking becuase i want a 750 or a 2014 or 15 s550

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It really depends on what model and year you that determines if it has front air or not. Everything is pretty easy to access as far as the air suspension goes.

    BOTH sides where sagging?
    may you show a valve block disassembly?
    thanks

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, both sides were sagging and this only had the air suspension on the rear. Also, the valve block was replaced about 9 months prior to this. I could probably find a diagram of one for you.

      @loai yamani it would lift and work as it should but the suspension would slowly leak down especially while sitting because the compressor wasn't running when it sits.

    My BMW 730 LD is sagging only one rear suspension. Also when the car climbs a ramp of my garage, it saggs again and take a lot time to stand up again. I don't know where is the fault. BMW official service stations are not trustworthy here, they intentionally inject some kind of code which shows error within 1 month.

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  ปีที่แล้ว

      how long does it take to lift up again and when it lifts up and the compressor turns off, can you hear any air leaking out?

    • @hexasmartitagency5620
      @hexasmartitagency5620 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@operationoverhaul so basically there are 2 ramps to park in my garage. I have to turn off and start engine again after the first ramp to compress the air in suspension again, car doesn’t identify the sagging it self. I need to restart the engine to make it compressed quickly. Also there is no sound of leak or compressor. It quickly lifts up after restart.
