To add to the trash fruit entry: trash fruit is arguably the best bait in the base game. You catch a lot more fish and lot more types of fish if you're fishing with trash fruit.

I love finding out more details about the sims 4. You’d think I’d know them all since I’ve got over a 1,000 hours in lol.
I have over 2,000 hours and I didn't even know all of these 😂
I was browsing through TS4 subreddit and found a post asking what basic features that people didn't know for so long and they felt so dumb for not knowing about it before. The one that was brought up a lot was the fact that you can set multiple clothes in each category for your sim, which was featured in this video. 😂I was excited to explore more of The Sims 4 each time I found these details on the internet.
I have over 5300 hours and still find new details.
Honestly, that's one of the things I genuinely love about games like these - there is always more to learn and discover.
This video makes me see the sims 4 as something more complex than just the mindset I play with
That's why I don't completely hate Sims 4. There are small nuggets that show so much potential, especially with the little details and such. Like the musical cues for each emotion and the small animations for certain traits. I think the Sims 4 just doesn't highlight this well enough for most players.

Honestly these videos show that TS4 has more details than we originally thought. Sure, it's not TS2, but it's not totally empty of surprises like some people might think.

I didn’t know Alex Moyer sim was immortal- but now that I do have an idea.
I’m going to change all her outfits to be crazy costumes so she’ll stand out, where as before, she was mostly ignored.
For the quick engagement thing, don't "first kiss" them first. Ask them to be your partner, then ask them to marry you. If the relationship is high enough, they'll accept regardless of how fast it is. It's tied to the "first kiss" moodlet. That's the reason the Sim rejects it.

Before the My Weddings or High School patch, that 'trait__SpecialNPC_isFTUERoommate' used to be 'trait_SpecialNPC_AlexMoyer' ...because I was using it regularly to save my favorite sims from dying of old age. I dunno why it was changed - my guess is she's classified now as 'Permanent' rather than for a 'Special Offer' = Why remove an asset if it still works perfectly.. just change its meaning to keep it in.
These days I use the BabyAriel trait cheat to save my faves :)

If you hire a repair service without money you will get a warning saying " I don't work for free, you know. If you ever want my help again you'd better get your act together and pay" 😂
If you keep the tree from the magic beans, you can get collectibles from exploring it! They’re mostly common but I’ve gotten some rare and uncommon ones too

77. I was just dealing with this yesterday. My Sims wont go to bed with each other until after a few tries for some reason, as well.
After testing it further, I think they will decide to go to bed during nightime hours. Outside of that, they prefer taking a nap instead
If their autonomy is on, theyd often go for coffee instead, so that might get in the way too, if you have a coffee machine.
A cute thing is that if your sim is flirty they get the option to draw a heart in the sand as well.
My favorite flirty thing is when they paint two cats with a heart. That's like the cutest flirty painting ever.
(Also with Cats & Dogs the laser pointer is a pink heart)

The sketch pad doesn't make the easel obsolete, you can't make emotional paintings on a sketch pad for some reason.
I'm not sure if it's base game, but children can help toddlers with the potty skill.
The island counter meant to be a square outside corner can hold two bar stools.
Tables and island counters can be used like desks to hold a computer. So you can make custom desk shapes using island counters. You can also use island counters to make custom size tables, if the tables we have aren't big enough, but you'll sit up higher than a normal table and need to use bar stools. And you can use three-tile-long tables like an especially long desk.

I think it's a hidden feature.
Here is what happened :
- I placed the "wishing well" on my lot, wished to find love and threw 5,000 Simoleons in the well.
- I immediately found a random beautiful sim around and flirted with her, went on a date etc.
- Fast forward, we got married & I found out that female sim ( called Alex Moyer ), upon moving in with me, had 2.1 Millions in her bank account. 🤯🤯🤯
( i didn't create Alex...she was generated by the game ! And I somehow think she had that money 'cause I wished for a relationship before flirting with her )

It is so great to know about the enemy's dynamics with death 🤲
Everytime I'do a black widow challenge my Sim would cry at their husbands graves as she wasn't to put them there in the first place!
The Best way to go with this is to start fighting and declare enemies just after moving in to make sure they won't have that 3 days sadness moodlet on when their spouse passes

on the subject on the Plantsim(81), You can also regain the "Sun"(Hunger Bar) by absorbing your plants And/or eating Fruits/vegetables.

Something that's kind of amusing about Trash Plants is that they give sims Uncomfortable Moodlets when they're near a few of them (Or maybe even just one?), with stronger Moodlets being given when larger numbers of Trash Plants are around. lol
That's why when I have trash plants, I place them in an enclosed fenced in area. Typically separate from everything else.

79. My sim died by the meteorite after looking at the telescope 😭 I didn’t get a chance to save her because she was prompted to go on a date right after the warning. I thought that because she changed locations it would be fine 😅 now I’m scared to use the telescope ever again lol. But at least I know what to do next time!

There are little things I discovered that I didn't know where there in the first place. Example : after your sim gives birth to their baby, you can change the infant's clothes on the crib. By selecting the baby and then chosing a new piece of clothing. If you're annoyed by random sims texting your phone, you can silence the notifications by opening your sims's phone, and clicking the microphone icon.
I've always wondered about the character Moyer #88. No wonder why she's in every new save I make. It makes so much more sense

Originally I pointed out that the feature in 51 isn't base game. It turns out that yes, it is indeed a base game feature. Children and toddlers can play in sand and older sims can draw in sand in the base game. Though if you want your sim to draw a heart in sand, you do need My Wedding Stories though. And sand sculptures are still in Island Living. How I originally started this comment I have included in the end.
Anyway:
82 should only come into effect when sims have their first kiss. I don't know if proposing now requires the first kiss (WooHoo does), but yeah. When 6 hours pass after the kiss, the proposal can then succeed.
99 (the build mode gameplay effects I hope) this can be turned off in Gameplay Options. So yeah, if you don't like these, then good news.
Random suggestion, but you could cover the fact that with cheats you can make your own custom NPC sims. I have made a guide on it on EA Forums, so yeah.

[While a great video, I do have to point out that the fact 51 shouldn't be a base game feature as far as I know. Playing in sand came with Island Living and drawing in sand came with My Wedding Stories. Of course if you find out that these are base game features, do let me know.]

It turns out that indeed both play with sand and drawing in sand are in base game indeed. However, building sand sculptures is from Island Living and drawing hearts is from My Wedding Stories.

Yup, the play in sand and draw in sand was added to the base game in an update. They weren’t written in the patch note of their respective updates so players weren’t really aware of it. I also disabled almost all packs (besides 1 GP and 1 SP for some cosmetic reasons) for this video to make sure

thanks for no.88 -> my sims's wife died due to drawning on their wedding day so decided to choose next wife from wedding guest. and Alex Moyer is the best option. I didn't know she is immortal until my sims is almost die due to old age but Alex is still young adult. I tried to drown/aging her up but it wont possible, I thought it was a bug. then I made her take the cake from cow plant, it's turned out that she can eat cake only 1 time and cannot take it anymore (the command is gray cannot choose TT). the story end when I make her cheated and divorced remove her from my family, then my sims die and I just know the reason why she never die TODAY. THE END.

72. Honestly I thought the "sad eyes" was the stuffed animal sleeping. My sim is a teenager and still has hers, and I had forgotten about him after she had grown up. I guess she should stay in touch, or give him to her baby brother.

I was convinced the melt master reward trait was bugged as my sim is unable to summon the grilled cheese and it's just sent to the household inventory. always spoiled too.
The Digitastic Sketchpad already by itself is faster. Though the one upgrade might speed it up more I'm not sure.

14:35 As far as I know, the toddler traits are bugged as well. Whenever I have my toddlers age up (I always try to get their skills to level 3) I don’t get the trait, and I have to cheat for them to get it. I haven’t played sims 4 in a while tho, so this might’ve been fixed.

In my game, trash plants only produce 1 trash fruit a day. I'm pretty sure it's been that way since I got Seasons. (Before it was 10)
The Sims team actually patched out the clothing rewards, the items still work

That's how I got father winters baby by science baby its allot easier probably the 100 baby challenge to would be now that friendship needs to be 50% to "speed run" marriage as Sims over 50% friends accept woohoo partner requests, and will be more receptive to flirty interactions.
The unlockable separation incredibly friendly also insta boost friendship to 50% it only works on introductions so its nice when wanting specific Sims to like yours but it also counts if your SIM automatically introduces themselves so can be annoying with randos acting like good friends out of nowhere.

It does! As the name suggests, you’ll start out slow when learning a skill and as you get more consistent every day, you’ll learn much faster and eventually faster than regular sims
