Parenting with Autism

  • This is the first time that I share a very vulnerable story. It makes me not look good, but I want to ensure to everyone that its not me anymore. Yes, I do struggle, but I have learned to be more aware and check in with my wife. I'm so glad to have a wonderful daughter and be her dad.

    OMG, my heart goes out to Makenzie. And I can relate as a mom with an autistic son. There are so many times when he behaved just like Jaymes but was not trying to be selfish. Now that I understand his autism better I can identify so many of his behaviors and realize he’s just trying to do his best.

    James sounds just like my son. Since he was also recently diagnosed at 49. He’s 51 now and unfortunately it has affected his relationship with his sons. They just see him as a bad father now. They don’t accept the diagnosis.
