If the bike is bouncing you off adjust your rebound or stiffen the shock back there. I’m surprised it sits so low in the back. Raise it up a bit. Bad ass bike goldguy. Looks like a good time.
popping on decel is really common with the fcr carb, nothing to worry about if your jetting specs are close to where they are supposed to be, its always gonna pop
I’m soo jealous, that looked like so much fun. You need to get EVERY bike down there and film way more videos on trails and stuff. Some more motovlogs too! During October break I’m thinking I’ll put my new camshaft to the test like you did in this video. Great work GG
I never ride for long, just down the street once or twice. If I rode for a long time I would definitely piss my neighbors off and probably get the cops called on me 😅
You have to use your pegs, press down on the pegs and use your weight on the pegs for balance. Stand up more if possible!!! That 450 is a beast!!! I have a 2009 kx 450 and it’s a absolute monster!!!! Nice vid
To remove any popping and bogging, Here is the answer! First, Check your idle jet (Go richer). Second, Check your needle position (Let's say it is on the third clip position, Move the clip one position at a time down and ride the bike to notice any difference). Third, Check your thottle accelerator pump timing. Make sure there are nearly no slack.. Just a tiny bit of slack. Fourth, Clean your carb. You know what, Make that the first thing you do before anything else. My 525sx did the same thing. It was bogging and popping. So I cleaned the carb. Changed the idle from 45 to 48. Changed the needle clip position from 5 to 6. Timed the accelerator pump to get a full squirt of gas. And there you go. If that not fixed you're problem you might have to set/time your valves. I did that too and it starts right up. Cheers!
To fix the pop, I would check your exhaust header gasket, or the connection between the head pipe, and the muffler. It might be too lean overall! Lot's of people complain of this online.
I don’t think you guys are too far from me, I’m near Pittsburgh. Getting on a modern high output dirt bike is a life changing experience. I’m glad you were able to take it out to a good place to ride. It’ll take a bit to get used to a bike like that. Like other have said, definitely try and set your sag and rebound. And yes, practice standing more.
Just a suggestion from a Greek friend. If you have the money put on a mivv or raceguns exhaust if you have a lot of money put akrapovic. You will have much better sound and a little bit more performance.
Bro Ive watched a ton of YT but your style of video is the shit bro was so stoked when it started and road after the new cam cant wait til its throttling man!!
I feel your pain. I’m in the Chicago suburbs. You gotta haul your bike to spots if you wanna ride. I bought my first dirt bike, 08 Yz450f, a year ago and still haven’t gone riding. I ripped it through my neighborhood once and on the prairie path last weekend, which got me death stares as it’s illegal. One of these days...
i KNEW it was the fuel screw. Probably too lean causing the cracking noise and stalling when whacking the throttle open from idle/popping on decel. You could always weld in a bung for an AFR gauge to properly jet the bike with the cam/pipe/etc. Def don't want to run it too lean. Great job. I just binge watched all of the 450 vids. Inspires more confidence to tear into stuff.
To stop jumping off the bike and honestly to be able to ride more comfortable, stand up more and anytime you go over a jump or a bump stand up so it doesnt buck you over rhe bars
Check the direction of your ratchet for left or right before putting it on the bolt will let you know if your loosening or tightening the bolt. I sometimes have to do this depending on what angle I'm work👍 Excellent video
Hi man! Thanks for vids. I have yz450 06 super moto(street legal), and I have much fun on it at this summer. I was build the bike by my own. And at this moment I'm totally disassemble bike for rebuild. Please do not try to start engine with sneakers on, use only proper boots. Especially with wrong timing. It can broke the leg. For carb dismounting it is not necessary fully disassemble subframe. Needed only to remove upper bolt, and relax lower bolts, than move aside subframe. It is possible to take out the carburator from left side(as I remember), at least on 2006 model. Next time then you will be revisiting the carb, you sholud check that zone behind secure torx. On my carb, the gasket was almost totally collapse at hole at the pilot jet. And I have also popping on deceleration, didnt know what to do yet. And I have destructed diaphragm at the accel pump. Didnt know this problems are connected together or not. Sorry for poor english, it is not my main lang.
It was neat seeing the trails that I always ride on your vlog lol Let me know if you guys go back there again or if you need a place to park. Nice vid!
Awsome series dude. Some how I didnt see this one. Omg the banana jockey is a nut. I've got a smaller spot like that one by my place that I've been training at for the Halloween moto. Keep up the great work thanks for sharing
Awesome vid man, about time you stretched it's legs. Your type of riding is so much more different than what we have in the California desert. It's neat to see what other people have. You need to gear up before you start doing crazy stuff. Regrowing flesh sucks...
That whistle is from the bike being way too rich which can also cause backfire if not tuned properly. After tinkering with the carburetor, you should get more power.
@Tom Richter best think to do it buy a quick adjust fuel screw off Ebay or your local store these older 4stroke are very picky about the fuel screw just a quarter turn off and they run like crap
Dude in the mud lmao brings back memories out at the pits I had my Yamaha Blaster 200 my a friend on my 200s and a friend on my Manco Dingo 10hp Briggs Stratton dude decided to take the Dingo mudding and got stuck in the middle of mud hole luckily there was someone on 4×4 quad that could pull my buggy out
I think a good video idea is that all the bikes that you have worked on/brought you should put tuem all in a line and tell us what you have done to them and what you did it for
The intonation coil plug melted on the 5 valve 249 that I have been working on. Would have to get a new plug for the wire harness and a ignition coil, thin braided wire stuffed in the pin holes of the ignition coil plug on the wire harness with electric grease on everything... cleaning the wire contacts with a pick can be nesasary... grease the braided wire before insertion, stuff it in to far and it's gone... to much grease and the connector won't go back on the coil.
Great vids man, good to see you out gaining more experience, riding and wrenching... No matter the level, novice to expert just get your ass out and do it... How much more fun is that bike than a $500 xbox,,, NO comparison right!!!
Can you let me know where you bought the carb jets? I have a bad starting issue. Mechanic could not figure it out he blamed the jets and took my money. Now I can see from your work that I have the same cam issue! So I need to check and then replace the cam. Please remind me of the tcam company too. Thx. The reason I ask a-out the jets is I want to take it back to stock. Mine is an absolute missile. I’ve never had a bike that would pull the wheel off the ground in every gear. More on cam: right now I can. Only start it by pulling it with another vehicle then pop starting. No hills around me to push it up, thank God.
Hey man just wanted to suggest checking to see if you have any leaks in the header pipe, that can cause popping/backfire from air being sucked in and ignited with unburnt fuel. Just somthing to look for hope this helps...;)
I understand "not everyone" doesnt want to go fast or go big on 450's but for the love of god start on smaller bikes so you can learn how to tear it up. You make that 450 seem like a 70s XL250
If the bike is bouncing you off adjust your rebound or stiffen the shock back there. I’m surprised it sits so low in the back. Raise it up a bit. Bad ass bike goldguy. Looks like a good time.
Messing around with the bike was probably one of your coolest clips I've seen to date good stuff
You gotta stand up on the pegs bro
Why
popping on decel is really common with the fcr carb, nothing to worry about if your jetting specs are close to where they are supposed to be, its always gonna pop
I’m soo jealous, that looked like so much fun. You need to get EVERY bike down there and film way more videos on trails and stuff. Some more motovlogs too! During October break I’m thinking I’ll put my new camshaft to the test like you did in this video. Great work GG
It's nice that your neighbors don't call the cop on you I like that
I never ride for long, just down the street once or twice. If I rode for a long time I would definitely piss my neighbors off and probably get the cops called on me 😅
Stand on your pegs with a slight bend to use your legs as like a type of shock/suspension, nice vid keep them coming
Them 450 are pretty crazy. I went over a 100mph on my buddies 2017 kx450
They don't go that fast too speed is 94
That little fast forward at the end sounded like a Gnat on steroids 😂
That Jake is a bike KILLER.
126 hours and still going on the original top end
And adjust the the accelerator pump. The lean bog as soon as you crack the throttle is due to the pump actuator arm having too much slack
Bro old video but still love it
You have to use your pegs, press down on the pegs and use your weight on the pegs for balance. Stand up more if possible!!! That 450 is a beast!!! I have a 2009 kx 450 and it’s a absolute monster!!!!
Nice vid
03 yz450f just rebuilt... re jetted thing is a beast.... im 225 lbs
Maybe adjusting valve clearenses could free you from that popping
Nice to see that front end lift so easy as it should,GOOD WORK!!!!!!
Awesome dude I remember all the haters in the beginning of this rebuild doubting you
To remove any popping and bogging, Here is the answer!
First, Check your idle jet (Go richer).

I have a 03 yz450, and its street legal! So much fun! Great vid!
Yessss back with another banger been waiting for this one!!!
To fix the pop, I would check your exhaust header gasket, or the connection between the head pipe, and the muffler. It might be too lean overall! Lot's of people complain of this online.
Mine was too rich. I leaned the mixture screw half a turn. No more popping.
The back part is called the subframe and your timing is off that is why your bike is poping
all your hard work has paid off, sweet bike man.
The popping wont hurt your bike though if you do want it to stop, check hotstart valve/lever. It might be sticking
Great job that bike is sweet! You fixed it yourself that's double sweet.
You got it, just need to not be scared of it, line up your route, get in the right gear and gun it up, lean forward to not flip it backwards.
Just a suggestion from a Greek friend. If you have the money put on a mivv or raceguns exhaust if you have a lot of money put akrapovic. You will have much better sound and a little bit more performance.
Bro Ive watched a ton of YT but your style of video is the shit bro was so stoked when it started and road after the new cam cant wait til its throttling man!!
for not riding offroad very often, you held your own pretty good, keep it up
I feel your pain. I’m in the Chicago suburbs. You gotta haul your bike to spots if you wanna ride. I bought my first dirt bike, 08 Yz450f, a year ago and still haven’t gone riding. bought a clean title 1983 Gs450e for 180$
got it running yesterday
cleaned the carbs today
Check the slip joint on the exhaust if its leaking it will cause the popping and backfiring on deceleration
Awesome video! If you aren't already, standing up while riding helps absorb bumps a lot better, a d is less likely to throw you off the bike.
Ride on dude.. looking forward to more !!!
How did you get it so cheap? I know of a 2006 available $1k engine froze up though...howmuchh should I offer offer for it being in that condition?
You should adjust the idle fuel mix screw maybe that could fix your popping. It could also be the new camshaft adding to much gas in the exhaust
I just had this video in my recommended and now I just wastet 2 and a half hours watching your yz450 build 😁
but it was so interesting 🤗
Those Yamaha 450s are fast you’re going to have a good time on that bike they will climb almost everything
Check the direction of your ratchet for left or right before putting it on the bolt will let you know if your loosening or tightening the bolt. I sometimes have to do this depending on what angle I'm work👍
Excellent video
It's got plenty of power 👍, good job.
Hi man! Thanks for vids.

Well that bike was worth the 500 bucks! nice work
Mine popped like that it's the exhaust and just the sound of a 4stroke as long as it takes gas your good
It was neat seeing the trails that I always ride on your vlog lol Let me know if you guys go back there again or if you need a place to park. Nice vid!
Awesome man thanks!!!
I have an 2005 with carb. Valve adjustment and carb adjustment woke my 450 up..what year is your bike? #nice video
GoldGuy flip the pin that hold the clutch cable to the lever for more clearance.
Happy for u bro keep up the good work
$500!?? Thats Bargain of the Century! 😎
Awsome series dude. Some how I didnt see this one. Omg the banana jockey is a nut. I've got a smaller spot like that one by my place that I've been training at for the Halloween moto. Keep up the great work thanks for sharing
Nice vid man. That's a big bike. Glad that you fixed the slipping clutch. Dude do more riding vids
Awesome vid man, about time you stretched it's legs. Your type of riding is so much more different than what we have in the California desert. It's neat to see what other people have. You need to gear up before you start doing crazy stuff. Regrowing flesh sucks...

Adjust the fuel screw will stop it popping
@Tom Richter Merke: Solang das Deutsche Reich besteht, wird die Schraube nach rechts gedreht!
Lefty loosy, righty tighty - Unless its upside down, then its the other way around.
@Tom Richter best think to do it buy a quick adjust fuel screw off Ebay or your local store these older 4stroke are very picky about the fuel screw just a quarter turn off and they run like crap
That popping is normal for 450,bike has a to much compresion
and he must change the pilot jet to a 40mm coz its over fueling but if he puts the original 45mm and tunes it properly then he'll be sorted
You should always carry a bike specific tool roll with you on any ride
Dude in the mud lmao brings back memories out at the pits I had my Yamaha Blaster 200 my a friend on my 200s and a friend on my Manco Dingo 10hp Briggs Stratton dude decided to take the Dingo mudding and got stuck in the middle of mud hole luckily there was someone on 4×4 quad that could pull my buggy out
This is why I tell people dirt bikes are way more fun the quads.
Nice vlog
More 750! Thanks man.
I think a good video idea is that all the bikes that you have worked on/brought you should put tuem all in a line and tell us what you have done to them and what you did it for
YT_VenomousGamin Or just watch the videos and know
The popping could also be bad o-rings which arent the funnest to replace
It’s a race motor carbs set up for full throttle all the time lol
The intonation coil plug melted on the 5 valve 249 that I have been working on. Would have to get a new plug for the wire harness and a ignition coil, thin braided wire stuffed in the pin holes of the ignition coil plug on the wire harness with electric grease on everything... cleaning the wire contacts with a pick can be nesasary... grease the braided wire before insertion, stuff it in to far and it's gone... to much grease and the connector won't go back on the coil.

Beast keep the good work my friend
Awesome video GG. Didn't see to pop any longer. Did you fix it with the rebuilding of the accelerator pump?
Pretty clean honestly
that was a bright idea.
In. 2000 I had the 2000 Yamaha 426f she was wicked I came from a Yamaha Dt175 and a 250
Get rid of that janky fuel line set up and you'll be able to spin carb a lot easier
Can you let me know where you bought the carb jets? I have a bad starting issue. Mechanic could not figure it out he blamed the jets and took my money. Now I can see from your work that I have the same cam issue! So I need to check and then replace the cam. Please remind me of the tcam company too. Thx. I bought the carb jets on eBay. I also bought the camshaft on eBay, it's made by hotcams.
Also you should consider switching to a lectron carburetor on it way better
Thanks mahn
Valve clearance will be the reason for exhaust popping.
Once you ride a dirt bike you'll understand why people say (atleast in Finland) to go stretch your wrists.
Happy birthday ttr
Please make an update on the subaru build pls
Hey man just wanted to suggest checking to see if you have any leaks in the header pipe, that can cause popping/backfire from air being sucked in and ignited with unburnt fuel. Just somthing to look for hope this helps...;)
Come on jake. Show yourself in the comments. Reply to me I’m from butler
Here I am
Just awesome, that bike is fun 😄
Nice
This is some of the sketchiest riding I’ve seen in a long time 😂😂😂
For sure!! No boots, at least wear some construction boots are something.
Looks like a lot of fun. I want a dirt bike now lol
Very good.
Super unrelated but I really like your shoes at the end of the video. What are they?
They are Avia shoes. I got them at Walmart for $20 😁 so comfy
Can you do a video on all those bikes
Love the videos man
6:59 to 7:05 there is a squeking noise in the engine, you might want to dial something in
You need to put the idol up and you need to put a 4 mm Pilot jet
Really good video great job
Very good video!
It's not ur pilot its ur fuel\air you can buy a tusk one makes it easier to adjust
Yfz 450 is also very lit
I added a radiator fan to mine to ride trails
Did you let the clutch plates soak in a bag of oil overnight before install. If not you burnt it up
No need to soak the steels, which are what he replaced.
JBR I know Steels don’t have to soak i posted this before finishing the video up.
My 2004 crf250 pops like crazy and shoots flames idk if its my piolet jet or my valves?
Good job!
I understand "not everyone" doesnt want to go fast or go big on 450's but for the love of god start on smaller bikes so you can learn how to tear it up. You make that 450 seem like a 70s XL250
sick construction site
