    It’s very refreshing to have a company compliment their competition rather than speaking ill of them.
    You want the customer to be armed with the m data to make an informed decision and trust in the quality of your product, both in design and actual output.

    Comment on the Baja Desgns Pro. It gets hot and cuts power, but the pro models I believe typically are for longer range, which you don't need when you are stopped. I would assume that if there is air flow, it would not get hot and derate.

    I believe the Baja Designs wiring is terminated with a Weatherpack connector... At least they were when I got mine. I'd love to get a set of SSC2s but the integrated Deutsch connector is too bulky to fit in my ditch light location. The compactness of the S2 makes it my choice, even though all my other lights are DD.

    • @diodedynamics
      @diodedynamics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you may be correct! Sorry to hear that - the Diode light is certainly the biggest of the bunch!

    • @XYoverland
      @XYoverland 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just to clarify, the DT connector plugs directly into the C2, so there's actually no bulk at all in the wiring. I just installed Baja S2s last night as ditch lights and the weatherpack connector being about 8" away from the actual light means the widest part is right where my hood closes.

    So I really like the focus of your work, making a very defined beam of light to accomplish specific lighting tasks. Also your videos are educational to the consumer. You come across as giving an unbiased report.
    My questions are these:
    1) you continuously talk about baja designs pro level lights failing after being on for a few minutes and describe them as unstable and then give a candela of roughly the same for their sport and pro models. Did you experience this with every pro model light you tested? How many lights of the same "failing" model type did you test? Just one? or five lights of each type and they all exhibited the same problems?
    2) you define candela on a linked video as the amount of light (lux) at a "specific point" at a specific distance. What point or field are you measuring when you are comparing your lights to baja designs? It seems on some of your photos that baja is putting out more light overall, though the center of your light pattern is brighter, albeit more focused.
    I don't have a dog in the fight. I'm trying to pick the best light for me. I have your lights and bajas in my Amazon cart right now. Your numbers and descriptions favor your lights, however that seems contingent on the baja pro models, which look visibally brighter overall, though not in the very center, failing. And it seems contingent on where you are measuring the light beam throughout your testing. I appreciate your help and like the way your lights look. Your price point is better too. Keep up the good work!

    • @diodedynamics
      @diodedynamics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DG-ou8hx Sorry Dennis. We didn't see the drop-down on the comment.
      1. For this video, we only tested dual-LED pods that are comparable to the SSC2 on the market. All output tested from each pod are from one pod. We also only test 1 of the same model of each pod.
      2. We measured all of these at the same distance. Like you said, Lux is the amount of light at a specific distance. You measure the hot spot on the beam pattern using a Lux meter to get this number. The spread on one pod may be wider or bigger, but the lux reading may be smaller, meaning it is not as focused. Lux x meters squared gives you your candela. This is the best number to look at when comparing true output because it gives you how much focused light output is being shined in a specific direction.
      Thank you for the kind words! Every light on this list is the best on the market. That's why we put them up against our SSC2s. We encourage you to go with the light the best suites your needs. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
