Hansen's positional awareness makes me well up even now. There's so much beauty in what he did on the field. Beauty that'll make you ecstatic, high and full of regret for growing old.
Went to both legs of this, the game that made everton sign Trevor Steven, Burnley missed some great chances in this game, Liverpool never heeded the warning bcos we got knocked out of the fa cup about 10 days later by brighton at Anfield. It was our first ever game played on a Sunday, still haunts me to this day that brighton game, jimmy case ? Why mate I idolised you, remember bob paisley saying after the game 'never again on a sunday' 😢😢😢😢
Might Burnley have scored of the Grobbelaar, they had had lead at last, not the Liverpool goalkeeper best of the pitch. Burnley played defensively better than many 1div sides that they couldn't offensively progress very much. But had counter attacking style that is underestimated in footballing terms rgh Burnley an even great side back in1914 they beat Liverpool at Crystal Palace ground by goal to 0. All the goals came from straight forward positions, making worse for Burnley. That Hodgson goal decide an aggregate for the 1div side. Get round the goalkeeper last could be the best goal of 3.
Some games from the BBC archives were shown on Irish TV during the lockdown a couple of years ago. There was a website selling copies on DVD (it's gone now, sadly), so this came from there, whereas most of my other videos are from old video tapes.
We won the 2nd leg 1-0 at the Turf. Burnley played brilliant that night, had one kicked off the line and hit the post too. How the hell we where relegated that season I will never know. 💜 B.F.C.💙🥅🏐🏟️
We sang around then 'now you'd better believe us, we're gonna win the lot' Other songs then 'Graeme Souness, Graeme Souness you look like Yosser Hughes' 'We can do that Bruce, we can do that' as Yosser would say and 'oh oh oh this is what we sing, oh oh oh Brucie is our King' to the New Romance song in the charts
I here by knight you for your services for bringing to us old timers the joys of reliving the football of our childhood.
Arise Sir David Waller!
I hope Dave Waller realizes the joy he brings people.
Thank you. That means a lot.
Well said
@@randyborstol2491 Great comment this. Absolutely spot on.
Love to watch the King in his pomp, thank you downloader.

If you turn the volume off and just watch the interplay and movement of the Reds - its increadible
Dave Waller is to classic Liverpool uploads, what Borko is to awesome Sopranos clips. A bona fide TH-cam legend 👏👏👏👏👏👏⚽️
Brilliant . Ive never seen this . Cant remember it anyway.
I was there as a young 24 year old Claret. The atmosphere was electric as was the Quarter Final at Spurs. Proud to be a Claret then and now UTC
I was there at the 2nd leg has a 9 year old derek Scott scoring the winner 🟣🔵

Far more entertaining than what's on offer today.
Burnley had good young team . Always produced their own .
You've surpassed itself again dave
Yourself lol
Waller, you're on fire 🔥
The music used is the original MOTD theme!!
Loved that Umbro kit.
Short shorts, mullets and moustaches, those were the days.😂
We should have been 2 up at half time. At least we won the 2nd leg at Turf and beaten by the best side ever
A curious fact is that they used the *old* Match of the Day. Last used 13 years ago.
I think it was a better tune.
Funny how Brian Flynn's Burnley badge is centralized on his shirt but his teammates have it in the usual configuration.
24:57 - THAT pass by Dalglish! I swear, if he'd been any better that season, he'd have been cocaine.
Standard fare from him, he did that every week.
Trevor Steven did quite well after this... 😉

Burnley were a handy outfit.
Is there the second leg ?
No, sorry, I don't think any footage exists of that game.
@@DaveWallerLFC Ah, shame that, great videos by the way.
The Reds should of concentrated on the European Cup # 1982 ' 83
Concentrated how? We lost to Lodz because of individual errors in both legs.
