Best manager of all time. Not even close. 9 seasons of pure magic.

Should have been knighted long ago. In terms of winning trophies per years in the job he was the greatest. Forget sourpuss ferguson, he had 27 years at utd. Only managed to win champions league twice. Sir Bob in 9 years at LFC won it 3 times. Only British manager to do so. RIP.

No need to Fergie-bash, I can't stand Man. United but both were great managers.

@@vinnysamways63 I'm not fergie bashing ,just stating facts, it took ferguson 13 years to win his first European cup or champions league. Then he had to wait another 9 years before winning it again. Besides he as man utd manager had no respect for some of his fellow managers like wenger, keegan, Benetiz. The press called it mind games and the contempt he shown for certain referees was deplorable. The man had no class.

I was also 15 in 1983 and stood on the Kop with my dad that day. It seemed the goal would never come, but I remember Craig Johnston ending up in the net. David Hodgson didn't really do it for me and no doubt Ian Rush would have made a difference had he played.

As I child I went to St Marys school in Garston, Liverpool. Our teacher at the time was a certain Mrs Paisley. I remember on one occasion during assembly (I think it was 77' or 79') when in walked Sir Bob, grey suit and all, carrying the European Cup. Special memories.

Thanks. There are no highlights from that Watford game, as far as I know (it wasn't on Match of the Day or anything). Having said that, Watford were well ahead of the game in recording their own games for club videos, so it's possible there is some footage. There are Watford season review videos this far back, so I'll try to find out if they included this game. I've got some of the later ones and they generally only include Watford goals, so don't get your hopes up.
