The fact tht this car hit 168 in top of 4th with 3 more gears to go and the car was still pulling hard= Scary. I love it
When doing a speed run the car won't use 7th Gear... I hit 189 in my 500 .
Majority of cars will never use the final gear

jet spooling up, that is so major horsepower being thrown down, man 1168 at the tires on your GT500, is
over 1400 at the crank on stock bottom. Wow that's bringing to horses.

I'm continuing to be amazed how much power you are obtaining with I believe a basically stock block and internals. I remember the DCT had horsepower limits and you are able to exceed those numbers. When you put your combination together. The Dyno never knew what hit it, and now a built engine coming to handle I'm guessing in the neighborhood of 2000+ horsepower. I have to ask. At what point do you change from the DCT to a C4 or a Turbo 400 racing transmission like used in the Cobra Jets to handle the power. Like I've said before. You're the Garu of the Shelby GT500. Great video and great explanations of each step. Thanks!

These GT500s are animals. The only other car I can think of that was making power like this on a stock motor was the Gen V Viper. I'd love to see a manual swap though. Amazing what you guys are doing with these cars
Mk II motorsports gt did 281 mph in the standing mile on stock block, heads, and crank and ultimately went 300.4 mph with an aftermarket crank. That's near 3,000 hp from a stock turbo boosted 5.4L.
@@chadkent1241just goes to show how insane Ford DOHC V8s are. Those massive heads make great power and the valvetrain canrev really high. Plus, the webbed blocks in Coyote motors are ridiculously strong.

You guys should take a look at what Brett Lasala is doing with a Predator block. He made 2505hp on a stock block and internals Predator based engine and he just set the world record at 6.26 sec at 226 mph on a radial tire at Sick Week 2024. The Predator engine is a bad ass engine. Guys im sure that car will make way more power and will handle it nicely.

2 questions: 1, how did the car hold up with the stock block and stock trans after some time? 2, is this on the stock fuel system?
I am new to car modification, i usually see vlogs like these to get a better understanding and gain knowledge as much as i can, i noticed upper pulley 3.25 and stock lower…. It is any rule or something to keep the lower pulley stock? What happens if you change that… and also when you broke your axle in last video, did u replace it with a stronger one or same or anything?
I've attended an SRT performance driving school in which I drove Redeyes, vipers and the Demon. Yesterday for the first time ever I drove a GT500 Mustang 🐎 and it scared the fuck out of me! I was shock after I got out, but I was hooked as well. Before I even turned the car on I looked over the hood view and gulped. I could just feel it. The 7 speed DCT was violent! Waaaaay above anything else I've driven. Ford absolutely killed it! A car that does ten's on the drag strip, six second range 60-130 and it rounds the track better than any POS Corvette or European super car and it does all that on the factory tune!!! Ford> the rest 🌎
I do not like Mustangs but damn ! Ford engineers planned ahead so you guys could beat on these engines..IMPRESSIVE !
Would have liked to seen the 1140 stock blower pull vs the 3.25 1187 pull.
I didn't think that was a fair comparison. The 1140 number is not very repeatable. The only time I've made that is with a brand new belt AND brand new pulley under favorable conditions. Any other time, even with a new belt it hits right at 1100 on my car and all the cars with the package
Are you still limiting torque to save the gears in the trans? Would think that 3.8L gen 5 would blast right into 4 digit torque neighborhood.
Hi what's done to it other then the 3.8l Whipple Sc and ethanol are you guys running injectors or fuel pumps etc

On the track, that 2018 5.0 would probably cut better times since it's ~400 lbs. lighter and higher compression means it might build boost faster. But what about fuel? Is he going to have to run C16, etc.? Or maybe E85 + meth? 12:1 seems like a high CR to run a lot of boost!

I’m thinking of calling MoTeC and switching to the new ecu when they release it. Has anybody talked abt or mentioned MoTec at all for this car? Switching maps and traction control aggressiveness on the fly would be nice for road course and on the street.

@Palm Beach Dyno Does thr GT500 blower fit on a Gen3 coyote with the DI fuel system? Or would head spacers need to be used to clear the DI fuel system? Reason I ask is there are going to be GT500 take off blowers galore for sale.
Yea cuz making over 1000 to the tire on a stock blower just ain't near enough power smh. The internet and TH-cam has made people power drunk everyone wants to keep up with the Jones and have the next best thing. The stock blower is capable of putting out more power than 99.9% of the owners will ever need or be able to properly use yet alot of guys will switch to the whipple just so they can brag about how big it is and get even more unusable for the street power than they already have on the stock blower. The whipple really isn't that impressive imo considering how much bigger it is than the stock blower it's kind of a disappointment.
@@midnight347 IMO its only for a built engine and fully built setup and pullied down. It wont hit nearly as hard as a smaller blower with a baby pulley that takes less to spin. But on E85 built engine and pullied down I bet this thing swings for 1500whp is pretty easily.
Hey ken, are you purposely limiting the torque, and if so how much do you think it would have been if you tuned for max torque?
Yes by quite a bit. Without porting and leaning on it I'm sure it would be well into the 900 range

Question: This is an engine with a stock bottom end, whose redline is defined by Ford at about 7500 RPM. In these dyno tests, you're revving to 8500 RPM. What makes you confident that this is safe to do?
I'm not confident. I'm doing this to test the limits. With the amount of abuse these cars have taken at that RPM range for over 1.5 years, I'd say it seems to be ok to rev them that high. If you are concerned on what he engineers think, I would guess that doubling the horsepower would be more of a concern that this point.
Has anyone figured out how to remove top speed limiter? I am curious if that has been figured out.. I cannot find anyone doing 200+ mph.
Don't know of anyone doing that yet but we may try a half mile run sometime in the near future

No one knows for sure, but we believe we're approaching the limits. Hence the built motor on order 👍🏽

We've tuned and modified dozens of GT500s for customers, both in house and remotely.

Yes, engine mounts have to be changed for clearance. Strut tower brace, etc

Safe is a relative term. We are confident in the stock block at the 1000-1100hp level. If you are concerned about longevity, then a built short block would be the way to go.

Why do I feel like even if these gt500's are making more power it's useless until you can start messing with the trans tune, these thing's are still bricked at 9.1 9.2 and no one has gone faster with plenty of time to get there. I hate seeing these car's in this configuration the gt500 is a track car anyway you look at it, it just happens to go fast in a straight line.
Lund has one in the high 8s if I'm not mistaken
One of our customers is in the 8s with his PBD tuned GT500. All DCT platforms hit this same plateau until someone steps up and develops the transmission, which is part of the reason we have a spare DCT sitting at the shop.
