- Aspen came down with a cough yesterday. Don't think that its kennel cough since there has been a weird strain of respiratory illness going through my area that vets are quite stumped about. Nevertheless, the coughing is very similar to kennel cough symptoms, so this little recipe can be used for any type of irritated throat.
my 3 month old puppy is coughing like this and this made me feel so much better having google the worst possible, thank you! I did take him to the vet, they told me it could also be a common cold so he is on antibiotics plus cough medicine! praying this works!

She is Beautiful! Hope she is feeling better. Our Levi will be 2 March 29 2017 he has been coughing and gagging periodically, usually after barking or getting excited. No other symptoms Hubby was sure he has something stuck in his throat. After watching some of these videos I feel it may be Kennel cough or Tracheal Collapse. He has not been around other dogs. I will try the honey for him 1st and then vet for verification. Thank you for sharing! Thank you to Aspen too.

My chihuahua literally was coughing all day and I gave her some honey and it stopped instantly!!!!
This also has natural anti inflammatory properties and anti bacterial properties along with soothing the throat but if their not eating or drinking like normal then take to vet. Heart issues and collapse trachea sound similar

I’m trying this! My baby started coughing and vomiting 3 days ago. The doc put her on amoxicillin for a few weeks and gave her some cough meds but she won’t take the cough meds. 😰

Hello there. Its really great i got this video on time.. i have a Siberian husky and he is my second husky i already losed 1 puppy because of kennel cough. Actually getting a dog in china means you getting a sick dog... i got my second puppy he was sick after 10 days ,we diagnosed kennel cough. And vet here in china are only for business i spended around 500$ for my puppy but no results... so i got this video, in minutes i bought honey and lemon and tried for my puppy and today after 3 days my puppy is healthy better and he's really feeling so good and very soon I'm gonna make same video on my channel to help others

@@Bonitachulax3 hey. At first I used normal store honey. But I was a pure one . Not sugar based. It was 100 pure honey no additional sugar . Morning around 7-8 am feed the the dog around 10-20 ml of a mixture. Made with one spoon of honey and half lemon maybe 5 ml lemon juice. Mixed with warm water you can increase if your dog is bigger . You can make in a bowl and force your dog to drink or you can feed by a syringe (no needles) give this solutions for a week you will see changes in health and cough
@@Bonitachulax3 I used for 3,4 months later I bought some pure honey from a mountain cave where I went to travel it was like live honey removed in-front of me. My pup liked the cave one as it was more pure then the store one

im not really rich and dont have any of these studf and chrome just gives suggestions of going to the vet but there is no vet nearby and im just a 9 year old i dont know what to do and help my little puppy,

I use a humidifier in my home close to my girl, it seems to help cuz she won't drink the lemon and honey.Have to get a syringe so I can get it into her mouth.

+Christine Thompson It was some form of viral infection. She had it for about 3 days, and then it went away on its own (like a cold).

Thank you I'm going to try this. We went away for Christmas had all her vaccinations up-to-date including kennel cough of course. We got her back and she started doing the same thing your dog did. We're supposed to go away for New Year's I'm a little frightened. We try to cancel our New Year's cruise for a couple days but it's $1000we're not sure if it's 100% a kennel cough because she doesn't do it all the time and we have such little time in between Christmas and New Year's. We are trying that now thank you!
+Jenna Scholz It wont cure kennel cough - but it should help with her symptoms (kind of like hot tea for a sore throat). With my dog, I found that it went away within 3-4 days. Hopefully, her infection will be similar!

no. take a puppy that young to the vet. This is ten months after you asked but I'm here to mention it because puppies take longer sometimes to get well and get sicker faster and can develop bronchitis and pneumonia and die if they aren't treated. A young puppy needs vet check and possibly antibiotic and a cough suppressant maybe. I don't know what they use for that young of a puppy but mine is 6 months, five pounds and she got antibiotics and a cough suppressant pill form to take by her vet. The vet's reason for antibiotics was that they are lowered in immune system and we want to keep away any more bacterial infections that can get in while she's down. The bordatella is a bacterial infection I think and the other can be virus' combined like the dog flu that they get along with bordatella. My dog was vaccinated for bordatella in three doses prior to getting this and the vet said that her vaccinations should help keep the infection less intense and she should get better within a week or two entirely. If not we will take her back. I also used an oil diffuser cleaned out of any oils and just put in water to make a home humidifier (I didn't have one) and will contemplate some honey but not sure if it'd be a risk to her teeth to have her take in the sugar aspect of it. I can brush her teeth but doubt she wants teeth brushed a lot while she's got.a cough.
@@fragilefleur good advice, puppies are susceptible to viruses and have not built up a strong enough immune system. A puppy has a much larger chance of kennel cough, etc...becoming pneumonia and increases the risk of a life threatening illness.
Mine will not drink the water. Just the honey by its self lol.
I see where you're coming from as this is what works for humans but Citrus is bad for dogs and the honey isn't raw so won't have the same antibacterial benefits that it needs to work. Try mixing raw honey with apple cider vinegar instead
Lemon juice is recommended for bulldogs especially

Dayanara Lozano It doesn't matter when they drink it. It's just meant to soothe an irritated throat, so it doesn't matter if they have food on their stomach.
My dog has the same. Antibiotics work for a while & then it comes back. Did you ever heal your dog completely? Ps: I've researches & found we should actually use raw honey. The regular honey isn't very healthy but please let me know what has worked for you or what lies ahead as I'm very worried about mine little fur baby.

Dok yung aso ko dati minsan lang umobongaun halos 4times na umobo sa isang araw palagay ko kennel cough matagal na po subrang 1yr mahigit lalo na napabayaan nmin umuwi kming iloilo ano b dapat kong gawin wala akong.pang gadtos para dalhin sa doctor.

Nothing. It was a viral infection, so her body just had to fight it off on its own. The honey water just helped with coating her sore throat.

I do not think the honey you're using is pure. Honey does not diffuse in water. Only sugar does that.

1. It was already from her body 2. Any germs in there would be killed by stomach acid.
You can't stop your dog from eating their own pleghm though.

This shot doesnt protect the dog from all forms of kennel cough, and the side effects from the shot is worse than treating kennel cough itself.
+Critter Mom That is why I generally don't do the Bordetella vaccine (Kennel Cough). The disease itself is rarely fatal, and the vaccine has very limited coverage - somewhat like the flue vaccine for humans.
Just search what's actually in vaccines. My dog got Adissons disease after a vaccine & almost died. It's cost me thousands of dollars to revive & care for her medical costs & regular bloodwork, daily meds. Now she has a bad cough. I also have damaged grandchildren from vaccines. One little problem with your logic my friend. She's coughing up sputum from her respiratory tract...and she swallows it down her digestive tract. Almost all respiratory pathogens can not survive the pH of the stomach. Humans and animals cough, clear their throats, and swallow down mucus all the time when they are ill. It is a perfectly healthy response :)
