God uses the most unlikely instruments to carry out His work of salvation. I've always loved Bad Religion for their music, especially the lyrics. But this album stroke me in a completely new way. When I first heard it, I felt I was facing something really big and true. This experience made me open my heart to the power and grace of God in my life. Today I can see that my life has a meaning. There's a reason for me to wake up every day, and this reason is Christ. Thank you, Bad Religion, for this gift. May it help lead many other souls to God, especially the band members. I will remember to pray for you always. May God bless you 🙏
I love this testimony. I was an ex punk rocker who has mostly avoided Bad Religion since becoming a Christian a few years back. Just stumbled across this this morning and am glad it’s bringing people to Christ. Unlikely vessels indeed
O come, O come, Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan's tyranny From depths of Hell Thy people save And give them victory o'er the grave Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, O come, Thou Lord of might, Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height, In ancient times did'st give the Law, In cloud, and majesty and awe. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.
This comes across as a legitimate (if sarcastic) Bad Religion song. It is so worthy of foot-tapping that I would put it in their top 20. The guitars and vocals are perfect.
All religions are so bad, of course. Personal faith in Jesus does not harm anyone. I used to be an atheist for 15 years and have been born again Lutheran Christian almost 19 years. The lyrics of Bad Religion are very smart (I have all the albums ("Suffer" is the best one though) ; even "Into The Unknown") and this new stuff is also awesome. God bless you all in Jesus´ name!
Bad Religion does discuss things other than religion. this is why a believer could still listen to them. At the same time, one who believes in a higher being or a god does not have to follow any established religious organization and can understand and accept their stance on religion. Bad Religion seems to have more of a stance on religion and using it as a crutch, rather than simply believing in a god. Celebrate holidays to take time off and spend it with your family and loved ones.
It's funny how I praise God to Bad Religion while listening to this album. I love it. It's been constantly my favorite Christmas album since it's release.
Was positive this was gonna be some smart criticism satire based on classic Christmas songs, but it's a 100% original and serious cover? Very good, I'll have to bust this back out when December comes around
A bit surprised Bad Religion is making a religious album, but hey this seems pretty good! True North was pretty great as well, they keep getting better with age.
Regarding non-believers of all stripes and holiday or other devotional tunes: You don't have to be religious to enjoy devotional music, to paraphrase Richard Dawkins, who then went on to say something about liking Handel's Messiah, simply because it's a beautiful piece of music.
It's not a geographical place and it hovers over our prophetic imagination - a strong version of that drum spirit of accountability expressed in this song. Thanks for sharing.
I concure. Mr Brett (Greg is amazing as well, but Brett's songs have always done more for me) is a true inspiration. Brett's music has gotten me off the brink of hanging myself, through insane amounts of bullshit, made me come to terms with the addictions and issues of family members and given me an introspective on life that I'm just plain thankful to have recieved. You're the shit Mr. Brett, no, not just the shit, the ONLY SHIT.
HI MR. BRETT Waiting for you to Stream the Album, I can't wait anymore!! Wish I could Hang Out with you one day @ EPITAPH Records, the reason I got into Punk was because of Bad Religion!! Bad Religion brought WISDOM to the whole Punk Scene, Mr. Brett thanks For everything you are true inspiration to me!!
Teri Reeves - no. I made that remark b/c the name of their band is "bad religion," which is their statement that Christianity is a bad religion. That message is also portrayed on Bad Religons t-shirts, album covers etc by their logo of a cross slashed out with a circle around it. Now Bad Religion is singing Christian carols which puts out a different message than they had put out. It seems contradictory. Do they no longer see Christianity as a bad religion?
I don't know why they did covers of these songs, but I think it's because they just happened to like seasonal holiday songs and they wanted to use it as creative inspiration for money
IceCoLDMK - Perhaps, but I think it's also possible that the band members secretly have some belief in the Bible & hence decided to sing Christmas songs for charity. Bad Religion may have been pissed off at Christianity b/c of all the hypocrisy, contradictions & oppression. Thus their band name would be a statement of that.
I am also a little confused but very happy about it lol. Maybe they just love the Christmas season and music and wanted to add a slight punk twist to the tone.
♪♫O come O come BAD RELIGION, I'm gonna freakout listening to all this Christmas Songs in my stereo so loud!!♪♫ I hope I could go to BR show in Santiago, Chile this February!!! :D
Ashraf Farid It's only a story. I like the fact that they play this song to tell a story. Although it is a religious story, it shows that they can play this song and tell the story without believing in the bs of it. Of course this is only my opinion and you'd have to ask the band themselves.
My thoughts EXACTLY! I thought it was gonna be some mellow acoustic tunes or something(wich I still would have listened theshitoutof) BUT THIS IS AWESOME! Best band in the world, simple as that
This is funny and awesome. Def. going to be my new soundtrack to the holidays. Christian or not, i love christmas time and hate the old recordings of these otherwise catchy tunes. NOW THEY ROCK, damn this song shreds its way out too
It is so funny to hear these words out of Greg's mouth. As a christian Bad Religion Fan (yes, that is possible) I can finally agree 100% to the lyrics. ;) This song is my favourite of that album. Btw, Immanu'El is hebrew and means "GOD is with us"
MichailahGMX10831 I don't know where you got this from, but Judaism is in no way worship of saturn! While all cultures worshipped many gods, the descendents of Avraham worshipped only one GOD, which is called JHVH, but as they were not allowed to say this name, they used other names like EL, Elohim, HaShem, etc. It is forbidden for any observant jew, to worship anything else, than the true and only GOD (and a planet is surely no god). I think you shouldn't make false statements like that. But I agree that this is a great album. ;)
Non denominational REAL Christian (not strict with it though) and huge bad religion fan as well.. In there own words themselves (even though i always knew this) "Bad Religion is in no way antichrist. Christ was probably the most progressive liberal in history, we just detest RELIGION" that's from there concert dvd....AS DO I... so i give a big fuck yeah to that one. Go spirituality, FUCK RELIGION! lol anyways This version is amazing my fav off of this album😎
So well done! I am even more excited for this album now than I was before. Top notch marketing, Brett. Jesus, you guys still have it (which we already knew from True North). Please do at least one more original studio album!
I am a 63 year old woman who now has this as her all time favourite Christmas song. Brilliant.
I wish you could be my aunt, that rocks x)
Great to hear this!
💖💖💖💖💖💖
I think Greg and the lads aren't far from you, don't worry we all love to rock!
Bless your heart... I'll be 63 and jam to this for Christmas
This is what Christian rock wishes it could be.
No Wish Just One of Many
@automated slayer 1789 Herp derp! No kidding! And there's not a Christian band out there that could do it as well as Bad Religion did.
They lack the contempt to pull it off.
Actually the explanation is much simpler... There is no Christian punk :p
@@michaelbowen8923 you ever heard of slick shoes? They're sick man
Supposedly, 20% of the proceeds from the Christmas Songs album are going to SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) Worthy cause. Great songs too!
Oh, snap!
Funny, i only drink trapists beers brandq who gave all of their benefits to social programs *tips fedora*

I have been a Bad Religion fan since 1984 and I approve
This comes across as a legitimate (if sarcastic) Bad Religion song. It is so worthy of foot-tapping that I would put it in their top 20. The guitars and vocals are perfect.
Not to take anything away from the rest of the album, as it's all very good, but this is by far the best song on this album, IMO
My favorite of Christmas Songs
Thank whatever there is for Bad Religion. They are a bright becon of reason in an effed up world of princes and princesses.
Fez melhor que cantores gospel no Brasil.....uma banda fenomenal que fez parte da minha época na adolescência! Bad religion um banda boa de se escuta.

Bad Religion has been "Bad" since 79 and will continue to live its epic legacy for a long time. so Bad stays
It's funny how I praise God to Bad Religion while listening to this album. I love it. It's been constantly my favorite Christmas album since it's release.
You don't have to believe to respect good music. You might say Bad Religion put this album out in good faith. :P
God doesn't listen to sinners.
Was positive this was gonna be some smart criticism satire based on classic Christmas songs, but it's a 100% original and serious cover? Very good, I'll have to bust this back out when December comes around
alex fletcher Now is the time Bruh ;)
It is time. Rise!
Thou shall come again.
I am into books becuase of your lyrics, Mr. Brett! Greetings from Mexico. You were always my hero, and still are! OK, you and William Faulkner!
Way surprised how respectful and well done this is done.

Bad Religion rocks this song. I'm surprised they are singing a Christmas song though. Anyways, I love it. Good job Bad Religion.
TheHenok30 did you think because they are a punk group that something serious couldn't come?

Thanks for all the great songs. Whether I always agree or not it always gets me thinking.
Hi! You guys will have a good time playing in Brazil \o/

Amazing song
Love this band since EVER
Love the new album, preordered the vinyl package and am super excited. This is the best track!
Man, they really "nailed" this Christmas classic...
This is great ... better and better every album
Greatest cover of Christmas BR has done so far!!!
Is it wrong that as an atheist I love this song?
No. I'm a believer who believes that we can't keep the cool shit to ourselves. Enjoy!
I mostly enjoy it because an atheist is singing it.
Nate Monahan Bingo
Nate Monahan Odd reason to like a song.
Ashraf Farid It's only a story. I like the fact that they play this song to tell a story. Although it is a religious story, it shows that they can play this song and tell the story without believing in the bs of it. Of course this is only my opinion and you'd have to ask the band themselves.
praise him!

Not since Christmas With The Vandals has there been such an amazing Punk Rock Christmas album. O-Come-All-Ye-Irony.
nothing makes my day more than new music from BR, especially less than one year since their last record!
