I instantly began to well up with tears of joy, as I haven’t heard this song since I was in Catholic school more than 20 years ago. I never lost my faith but certainly wasn’t the servant of Jesus I am now and was as a child. It’s the most blessed gift God ever gave us, our Lord and Savior to teach us and love us, then be brutally sacrificed and die for our sins! Then rise from the dead and ascend to be with God until it’s time. Today, Christmas Day, the most blessed of days, fall to your knees and thank God for giving us Jesus, thank Jesus for dying for our sins so that we might live eternally with Him, thank Mary for bearing our Savior and then having to watch him be ridiculed and murdered… for us. And this Christmas Day, although many are suffering, I thank God for exposing all the evil and demonic practices and people that are in power and the surge in everyday people waking up to this and deciding to come back to You, o Lord! We need You more than ever Lord!

This is one of my favourite hymns we sang in school (and I was the pianist for a lot of the hymns each morning too as a teenager). It heralded for me the start of Advent and that very exciting time up to Christmas with the school carol service to come, all that lovely singing and it is a hymn with wonderful melodies. Thank you.
