      This cycling road is from our Belgium neighbors.
      Although i do want to say is that the UK needs to keep fighting for cycling Infrastructure and cycling as a whole.
      If the whole cycling thing completely takes off in the UK then the second part becomes all about innovating and create more convenient cycling planning to completely separate cyclists and pedestrians from cars.
      YOU CAN DO IT!!!..
      Yes as the Dutch folks, we want you UK folks to have your amazing cycling Infrastructure, and don't feel down or discouraged only because you see the cycling convenience we have in The Netherlands..

    • @freddee4295
      @freddee4295 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Zoza15 Thank you for your comments, I think one of the problems in the UK apart from a lack of initiative from politicians is the'them and us' culture that grown here with people encouraged to demonise one side or the other. Car drivers do seem to resent cyclists and cyclists in turn can sometimes fuel this attitude. Infrastructure that separates bikes from motor vehicles would promote a tremendous growth in cycling but unfortunately politicians are too short sighted and can only see as far as the next election.

    In 1830 Limburg wasn't split up. It joined Belgium as a whole, with the exception of Maastricht which was occupied by a Dutch garrisson, to the dismay of its citizens, and the tiny north point of Mook. The Treaty of London in 1839, called the eastern part _Duchy of Limburg_ and made it part of both the Netherlands and the German Bond (with exception of Maastricht and Venlo) until the German Bond broke up in 1866. Finally In 1867 the now Dutch Limburg became a province of the Netherlands. Until then it wasn't treated equal: Limburgian MPs could not vote on the Dutch constitution in 1840.

    • @BicycleDutch
      @BicycleDutch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This was the ultra short version. In the blog post it is explained more eleborate, complete with references to the London conferences of 1839 and 1867 and later Dutch Limburg's membership of the German Confederation as it was officially called in English. I chose to say 1830 because that is when things started to change, taking until 1866/67 to get to the situation we are in now.

    European countries especially western european regions are blessed with beautiful nature and surroundings. The people also keep their country clean and protect the mother nature from illegal activities. Here in my country Malaysia mother nature's are exploited for money, people's civic education is very low, everywhere is trashes. Dirty rivers, dirty walkway, dirty toilets. On contrary our nearest neigbouring country Singapore exceptionally very clean.

We started educating ourselves in the 70's.....it took 40 years....but we have hope again to live in non-poluted environment. Start educating yourself...and your neighbours...it's the beginning of something beautifull :) just do it (as a certain label says)

    You gotta love a country that spawns some of the worlds greatest bike racers, but have a sub group of recreational riders that believe...if you ride slowly on bike paths you'll never have need for skull protection🤣
    More hospitals see concussive head injury from this group than any other, due to inexperience, poor bike handling skills, and it's far easier to just keel over and crack ones head on a curb at slow speeds than whilst riding fast! Very amusing🤯
