I'm not that into biking, but hiking our mountains is more my cup of tea. Your expeditions and how you inspire, is just outstanding. I'm watching your videos and I want go explore our mountains and plateaus more. Hats off. You are doing a fantastic job:)))))
Again, WOW! Always stunning landscapes and views. Can see so much more on a bike and enjoy it longer compared to having to keep the eyes on the road when driving.
I have been there last year on my trip from Oslo to Bodo. I drove on most of the streets you have been. I just wanted to hit Geiranger but didn't expect to be at one of the most beautiful roads like 51.
Done that route in 2022 with the GPS track from Matthew (before he launched Cycle Norway). Insanely beautiful route. Mind the sheeps laying on the road, and enjoy the last long descent to Vinstra. Strongly advise Kirketeigen Camping north-west of Vinstra if you plan is to continue towards Trondheim or Ålesund.
My tour bike is hibernating in Vinstra. I’ll be heading up Mjølkevegen and then zig-zagging to the coast next year. I just mapped out a tentative route so this video was good timing.
Really nice video and inspiring trip! I was wondering how you made the Norway map graphic in the beginning of the video, where you explain the full trip? Is it an add-in to Final Cut or Premiere Pro?
Some people do it in a day, others two, and others 3-4 days. I know one guy who spent 7 days cycling it. All that matters is you enjoy the journey at your own pace.
Hey, Great tour, but PLEASE dont say its that easy with bikes on a train in Norway. Its hell. Even with tickets. Bergen line is one thing but the rest is hopeless.. There is so mant buss for trains, and they often dont allow bikes. As adults, we can always figure it out, but when doint this with kids or a limited budget ist so unreliable and youoften get stuck. Slettefjellvegen :D the dream :D
I agree with you, but I only mention getting your bike on the Oslo to Bergen line is easy. The Trondheim to Oslo line is currently terrible, and I mention this on my route info page. But thanks for pointing this out as I will be more careful in any future video.
I am so glad that I met you that day at Bergensbanen. We've had quite a few cycling adventures after that. Looking forward to next season!
Plenty more to come 🙌
Matthew, for some reason your videos (no they are films) actually make me emotional as you show such amazing places. Thanks
Power of nature
Another fantastic tour and video Matthew! Thanks for the inspiration
Glad you enjoyed it!

That was extraordinary - thank you!
Again, WOW!

Staggering place, on the bucket list for sure.👍🇮🇪
What a wonderful short film, is inspiring. And yes, only vivi when it's going to be practical! 🙂 Thank you!!

I’ve been waiting for this video 👍👍 and it didn’t disappoint. Superb as always Matthew. This rides on the list 👍👍
It's a good one for sure!
Great route, did it last summer as part of bigger tour. The climb was brutal on our fully loaded tandem!
Shake it up baby! Twist and shout!
Outstanding route Mr Matthew of Norway
That Slettefjellet climb killed me. The hardest climb I’ve ever done.
Hello, very nice impressions and experiences. A great tour. A subscription for you. Best regards 😊👍
Thanks for the sub!

Beautiful country.
Been there. 😊😊😊😊😊

Good to hear! Good luck with your adventure next year.
Great video Matthew. I've done bits of the route, including the excellent climb up to Slettefjell. I had thick mist though, so could see very little.
I hope you come back and do it on a better day :)
oh my god, this looks marvelous! Thanks!
great video! well done!
the fun part is that i see my family cabin as you say wow! :D
Wow, nice place to have a family cabin!
Wonderful route! 😮
Hi Matthew, love your videos! What size+style tire do you do rides like this with?
I recommend 40mm for Bikepacking in Norway. This is a good tried and tested tire: schwalbe-g-one-bite tubeless-700c-x-40-gravel
Ruten/Espedalen:) my family has had a cabin there for 100+ years. Great area for cycling.
I love that area, It's so peaceful.
Very nice 👍🙂
Really nice video and inspiring trip! I was wondering how you made the Norway map graphic in the beginning of the video, where you explain the full trip? Is it an add-in to Final Cut or Premiere Pro?
No, I paid a graphic designer to make it.
Recommended for motorcycle too
You forgot two key factors: affordable prices, great food.
did you plan your route on komoot? and if so, could you share it?
read the description box above

Doing that loooong route as an overnighter is, in my opinion, stressful.
Some people do it in a day, others two, and others 3-4 days. I know one guy who spent 7 days cycling it. All that matters is you enjoy the journey at your own pace.
