Uber definitely sends a lot of trash orders however, in my small market Uber will negotiate price by adding money to an offer and sometimes it's considerable. It almost smacks of desperation. I think they are trying to expand into my market but for now it's greatly benefiting us drivers. A lot of drivers are leaving DD for other apps and this could possibly also be a contributing factor. 4.4 miles for 22.05 just last night. I'm drooling over black Friday coming up in my market 300-500+ in just a few hours is a realistic goal in my market.
Of coursenthere is gonna be growth in rural suburban areas because people out there are consumers too. Couriers could tell u that. Look at all the food orders in those areas and the long miles to them. Its just uber does not want to pay the driver for those miles
I am courier with Eats. What would help more than anything with the smaller to medium sized markets and I would like to see some form of increase in pay in these smaller markets. Perhaps a 5.00 base pay to counteract the low tips on short distance trips.
@@legendvalley a typical trip takes twenty minutes or so .. say 20 minutes.. So divide the hourly amount by three and that is what the trip should pay.. $5.50 .. The enticement is to reward drivers who take the longest run, either as a single or a stack. All of this depends on if your market has a dense enough volume of offers to score more than one trip an hour.
@@mysticvirgo9318 I'll try that tomorrow! I just use gas gallon price in my head idk why. I look at the trip and a gallon of gas goes threw my head so as to how much gas is that costing me. I get about 19 mpg.
Just a side note. Door Trashs’s new GPS SUCKS BALLS. “your destination is on the right”. Except that it’s actually on the left. Makes delivering at night a pain in the azz. The old GPS had dotted lines directing you to the correct house. This new one doesn’t it just stops in the middle of the street. It can’t pronounce Spanish street names at all. CALLA instead of CHOYA (Cholla)
I love driving my scooter and delivery food. But we should have in mind that robots and AI will take these jobs soon. Important to do this: Work income should be used for money making money income.
In your last video I posted my stats about the 361 offers I was given last month in Colorado Springs. Long story short: 69% less than $1/mile. I can barely justify doing UE.
If you see the call customer service message on the screen when they are giving you an offer, that means something is wrong at the merchant. Do not accept, that means a driver has already called customer service.
Look I am not going to try to get my AR up for no crappy tier system. Uber has pissed me off by messing with my cancellation rate for everything that goes wrong that is OUT of my control.
You would think uber eats would've changed but nope they're still pissing me off by giving me measly low ball orders like $3 and try to force me into taking it because they send me the same order over and over again. Thats why i only use door dash now but hey people have their own preferences i just prefer door dash.
As a Lyft driver another week ahead of no bonuses, no challenges and no surge. Fares dropping like flies. All the bonuses are now in the middle of the night when nobody wants to drive because it’s too scary. I don’t know what to say anymore as a driver, the only person you can trust is yourself so do what you need to do to take care of yourself and your family. But these rideshare companies are just not cutting it anymore. We used to get well paid and this was an enjoyable job. Now it just makes me angry at the fairs offered because I know that those days of higher pay are never coming back and I have accepted this. Just need to move onto a different career.
9:47 Not willing to shop and pay for customers and Uber. I am willing to pickup items picked and packed by the retailer for me to pickup and deliver. Now as for the pay nobody is mentioning minimum wages at the state level. Example here in Florida we are currently at 13 dollars a hour with next year raising to 14 dollars and in 2026 to 15 dollars. Uber gotta step up their pay to keep competitive in states with higher wages.
In my area that's mountains and very rural no big city's. You will make about 13 a hour and every order is further because I live in a very rural mountain area.
I have only took 1 or 2 Uber eats offers in 2 or 3 months. If drivers wouldn't take $3 orders or $5,6,7+ for 15+ miles they would have to pay higher. Guess we have to wait for a big lawsuit against these companies for playing the "how low will you go" game, when ppl are just trying to pay bills. Last 3 times I fired up doordash I declined 10 in a row, lose 10% on acceptance then turn it off! Las Vegas btw
I can see food, grocery, and package deliveries going into the AV space. Tesla Model S and X as well as 2024 Tesla Model 3s have a hands free trunk feature. When they detect drivers standing at the trunk (via app or keyfob), the trunk will automatically open for them. I can see the apps transitioning to becoming like a cashier app for merchants and eliminating drivers with AVs. The merchant staff will load up the trunks and frunks (front trunks) with the order. The vehicles will drive to the customer. And then the customer will unlock the frunks and/or trunks with the app when they walk out to get their orders out of the AV. In about 5 years, we'll probably see some AVs made without any seats (not even a driver's seat) so that more AV deliveries can happen.
I'm only 13 deliveries and my daughter has just over 30 under her belt so we're new for sure. LOL My question is, can you really make money just using UE and DD? I think the market we're in is making it more difficult to get reasonable offers and that they'll be so few and far between it will make it so it isn't worth it. She's back in college and so we are needing something flexible and where we can take my granddaughter and she take her daughter with her and so food delivery seemed like the answer but I'm already questioning whether we can make enough money doing this where we live.
After they forced us to have the app run over other apps, I stopped using it. I've since made more money on just DD than I ever have multi-apping with UE and DD in two years. UEats is now just a distraction that I no longer want or need. Good luck with your constant 20+ mile orders for $5. I'd rather make money with your competitor.
You can make uber eats work you just got to use it different. I like uber but they straight get you so hard it's like an abusive relationship 😅😅😅😅 there are nights on uber eats 30 and 40s all night long non stop offers insanity and then there are nights you got to go home before you get mad
$2320/person/year. Not worth noting as anything positive. These app marketplaces are too expensive for merchants, customers and ROI on time of independent contractors.
The ghost orders and cancelation rate. UE keeps sending drivers to the same order that was already picked up by the first driver, and once you cancel the order, it counts against you. Bad bad bad!!
Hey Mike. I'd like to talk to you about Acceptance Rate. I built an iOS app to check my Acceptance Rate, and the app gave me a better understanding of how to accept or not the orders. Please let me know when we can talk about it. I really appreciate your channel and videos. Thanks a lot.
I stopped for over a year, and they still haven't done any of the most basic things to improve driving. There are some restaurants that are so bad, I refuse to deliver for them at any price. Yesterday, I had to reject the same offer 4 times in a row, as they kept on trying to mix it in as the hidden second part of different combined offers. I will never get sucked into a pet food order again, trying to dig through a million different cat food cans and catnip toys! I have no doubt some drivers are strategically ordering random cheap crap to their homes to get other drivers off the road during busy times. What happened to the ability to report the abuse of the system, that only drivers can see?
Can you imagine a company where the employees are all contractors who pay most of your cost of doing business and you don't even have to pay the minimum wage???? Cha ching!!!

Winner
Did you hear that if a customer cancel its added to the cancellation rate
They Lie, Uber needs to pay more.
Uber is making it to where nobody wants to drive for them anymore. Especially when they make it to where the customer can take back the tip.
That’s only happened to me once.
@@nala3038 same. Over 5K deliveries and only one ever reduced the tip after delivery.
Start delivering in rich areas. Don’t deliver in the hood. To my knowledge, I’ve never had a rich person withdraw their tip.
@@Theregimeofchange yep. I'm extremely picky about where I will and will not deliver to.

Uber eats sucks here does not pay nothing in my area
It can be really good here , if I get bad orders I just turn it off for a while. There offering 16.50 per hr here.
same. i tried it in 2019 and was getting 1 order per hour

Just like uber cheats at least door dashes system is easy and simple to use.
Yeah I actually just switched my DoorDash app navigation to the Apple Maps. The new map is almost unusable. 🤦🏻♂️

I like being a driver better than being a shopper. I’m in Minneapolis, MN
Ita not just uber and door dash. I just had my first shop n pay for grub hub today at a cvs. Didn't take it. Miles were not good
