This seems like a massive move back in the wrong direction. The writing is on the wall and I don't think driving for uber or doordash is going to last like this. The companies are holding out for drone delivery and then they are going to cut drivers from the platform completely collectively eliminating all of these jobs from the job pool. If they keep adding conditions to what is supposed to be a contractor job then they should cut the crap and make it an hourly job with benefits because at this point you're not really a contractor (you don't get free choice of orders without consequences). All the smoke and mirrors in the world can't hide that they are skirting around employment laws by having programs like this for drivers.
Drones can't set the orders right at the customers door in most cases, and we know most people don't want to have to go out in the yard to get their food. I have delivered to houses that still have a bag sitting by the door that you know was delivered the day before. I have had customers tell me they forgot they ordered food. Go figure.
DD and UE are not going to be around long because if they can't see that most orders are just horrible then they are failing as company's. This is insane!

I will NEVER schedule a 30 min to 1 hour with Door Dasher. As a Gold dasher it's an absolutely disrespectful to dashers. I'm almost out of both Uber and DD, they are trying to make you and employee without paying you as an employee.
Right now would be a perfect time for someone to create an app for rideshare and food delivery and give the drivers the full flexibility of independent contractors. Also, the apps should be fair for the passengers too as they factor in a portion of our pay. None of these reward programs should exist because what’s the purpose? I get rewarded when I accept an offer that’s worth my time and distance on my vehicle as an independent contractor. A reward program shouldn’t dictate which driver gets what. It should always be the top 10 closest drivers that gets that order with decent pay, not someone who’s 15-25 minutes away. If the pay isn’t good then the company should compensate the difference because $2.00-$2.50 is just no longer cutting it.
Where i dash, "dash now" became nearly completely unavailable when tons of Venezuelans showed up in the metropolis dashing on rented dash accounts or SSNs. UE i always able to just hop on and start working. UE used to be the best for me, but its step by step becoming the least appealing. Especially with these changes.
Uber eats sends you the same offer 5 times in a 5 min period even if you decline. Especially with the match offers. Door Dash in Las Vegas it's hard to get Dash now except for maybe a half hour or one hour.
@DonaldSmith-c7g that happened to me yesterday. I don't know how they can legally do that while you're driving. They're going to get sued into oblivion if someone gets k*lled because of this. I think a lot of things these companies are doing are illegal. I don't know how you can have an algorithm that deliberately gives certain people bad paying orders either.
I’m in the upper Florida Keys doing Uber Eats part time. Not happy about this at all. I hate DoorDash and their schedules. I am normally platinum and sometimes Diamond, but my acceptance is usually between 50-60%. When February comes around I’ll have to maintain 70%. A lot of orders here that are no tip or 16 miles for $8. Ugh.

what I loved about uber is the different ways was not doordash. But I’ve been noticing the last year or so that they have been subtly copying each other on both sides. I knew it was just a matter of time for this. this implementation is just a pilot before they release it everywhere. not happy.
NYC already has the planner because of minimum guaranteed earnings. Its way easier to get online without a shift than doordash. They just changed it to this variation yesterday, and the way this week is it says its for all of NYC, but for next weeks preview it shows it like zones like how doordash does it, although larger zones. We will see if its just a place holder.
I have a regular job. So the preferred times are lunch and dinner. I’m at my regular job then. I’m in Arizona. But I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before it’s here
My acceptance rate on UE is probably around 10-15%. On DD I'm at 85%. Why? At least in my market,your average UE order is about $5 with a 22 mi drive. UE is trash.
Yep, I'm not going to wear out my car for nickels and dimes. My job always needs OT, but I liked the flexibilities of food delivery, but not at the price of destroying my car and not making decent money. Take the OT and save wear on my car.
Just started UberEats -- to fill in when DD is slow, if possible. First day! (Payouts were okay, but the mileage was terrible. There were more UberEats orders than DD today. I like the DD app design better, so far, though.) Is there a difference between me signing up for UberEats and this PRO thing? Very confusing. I'll never get the 70% acceptance rate (or the 5% cancel rate since UE now counts 'store closed' and 'order already picked up' as my cancellations). Luckily where i am, it nearly always high demand 24 hours a day...
@@nala3038 Wrong. Cancellations for any reason now increase your cancellation rate. Doesn't matter if support cancels it or for what reason, your CR goes up no matter what.

Scheduling and zones are why I don't like DD and mostly use UE. However, last night I scheduled a dash time and started it. No offers for a few minutes so i opened UE and went online. Got a couple of decent ones right away. A trash dash offer came and went and I Ubered for 3.25 hours making $75. It would be interesting to know how many scheduled dashes are never worked or only partially worked. Something to look forward to: punishment for not fulfilling your scheduled dash or Uber planned time.
Are they trying to make it harder for people to multi app? Seems like the only people that won’t really be affected by this are big cities where you can pretty much dash now or “high demand” anytime.
Exactly. I bet they get a lot of heat from restaurants who make food for no tippers, and no driver is picking it up, then the restaurant has to throw it away. These AR based programs are essentially a way to get the drivers to take those offers without increasing base pay.
If this happens in my area I'm done with Uber eats. Having 50 + acceptance rate on doordash versus Uber is totally different where i am at least. Uber will constantly send you orders for 20+ miles for $5-$7.. who in their sane mind would be able to accept 50 to 70% of those orders? Doordash has some bad orders but not nearly as bad as the garbage Uber sends on a constant basis
I have general access so I pick Friday at 3pm. So since I have 5 picks I see what's available and I reserve that hour. I finish my hour and it's up to uber to keep me on or log me off. Depends on how busy it is. Sometimes if the send me to deliver in an area it's slow to finish my delivery and if my hour finish they will log me off.
I feel like Uber Inc was forced to do this because they're being class action lawsuited to hell and back. For example, there's a class action lawsuit against Alberta drivers vs. Uber Inc right now that has been going on for roughly 2 years. I'm hoping for a big big payday as I have been with Uber for 9 years 2 months and did 6,000 trips/deliveries for them.

The business model must not work, and/or it is too hard to balance the number of orders and number of drivers. Practically ever order must be taken for it to work, so that is the goal now.

At least in my market, ARs and cancel rates are shared between rideshare and delivery. Decline too many bad deliveries and get dropped to "standard" mode on rideshare.

Lol! So many ppl are worried. And there is no reason to be... I used to drive a medallion taxi. To drive people for pay legally, you need that medallion. And the only way to get it was to contract with a bigger business who already had it. You need commercial insurance and extremely enhanced vehicle inspections. And if didn't pay the bigger company who had all of that... the least they would do is have the city or state attorney sue and/or threaten you out of business. That's why taxis had a lock on business that actively excluded startup freelancing. But, what license do you need to drive restaurant food? A regular class C. What insurance? Nothing special. What regulations? None. Nothing stops freelancing in the food delivery space from just straight up doing their own thing at a much lower price... with higher profit margins. It's stupid how funny this is... Do you know why you as a driver don't get 90% of the delivery pay? It's because the apps have to pay million plus dollar executive salaries. They have to pay for teams of lawyers and thousands of lawsuits... and do you have to pay to freelance food delivery? Pause for another LOL! Because ALL YOU HAVE TO PAY is yourself, your cost, and your time. Minus the millions and billions these app companies spend. They have to spend salaried millions where you spend pennies. They have to spend billions on legislation and lawsuits and lawyers where you just have to spend dollars on oil changes and tires... They can't win, because we don't even have to buy advertising... they send us every day to the customers they paid to find and have to charge too much. And all enough of us have to do is realize that... We don't need no f-ing union... that's always small change. We need our own delivery business. And they hand us everything on a guided f-ing platter, to take as we please. To own as easy as we want.

I was on a Walmart grocery delivery yesterday for Uber, and I received seven different uber offers while trying to deliver the one I was on.

I know doortrash is. They changed delivery time to drive time plus 1-2 minutes. You don't even get time to stop and take a piss now.

So many ppl are worried. And there is no reason to be...
I used to drive a medallion taxi. To drive people for pay legally, you need that medallion. And the only way to get it was to contract with a bigger business who already had it. You need commercial insurance and extremely enhanced vehicle inspections. And if didn't pay the bigger company who had all of that... the least they would do is have the city or state attorney sue and/or threaten you out of business. That's why taxis had a lock on business that actively excluded startup freelancing.
But, what license do you need to drive restaurant food? A regular class C. What insurance? Nothing special. What regulations? None.
Nothing stops freelancing in the food delivery space from just straight up doing their own thing at a much lower price... with higher profit margins.
It's stupid how funny this is...
Do you know why you as a driver don't get 90% of the delivery pay? It's because the apps have to pay million plus dollar executive salaries. They have to pay for teams of lawyers and thousands of lawsuits... and do you have to pay to freelance food delivery?

Because ALL YOU HAVE TO PAY is yourself, your cost, and your time. Minus the millions and billions these app companies spend.
They have to spend salaried millions where you spend pennies. They have to spend billions on legislation and lawsuits and lawyers where you just have to spend dollars on oil changes and tires...
They can't win, because we don't even have to buy advertising... they send us every day to the customers they paid to find and have to charge too much. And all enough of us have to do is realize that...
We don't need no f-ing union... that's always small change. We need our own delivery business. And they hand us everything on a guided f-ing platter, to take as we please. To own as easy as we want.
