But first to get all the 30 basic finger positions. , its a long way, but i really love this unique instrument, its very meditative and good for contemplating and stress relief

I’ve recently got my first guqin from you and it’s a lovely instrument, very beautiful and a great tone.
It’s a shame this video is just cut off part way through the piece, and a shame that we can’t see what the left hand is doing, as the left hand is so vital for the sound of the guqin.
It would be so useful if you could maybe put up some beginner videos of simple pieces to follow and learn. As a very traditional instrument, so much to do with the guqin is written in Chinese, and although I’m trying to learn the notation, it’s quite complex and a few simple things would be nice to begin making some sounds with purpose.
Thanks if anyone reads this :)

I'm not sure if you're still playing your Qin, but if you are, there are _a lot_ of videos demonstrating all of the traditional songs (and many more) here on TH-cam. A few channels in particular are really good.

The channel connected to this video "Zi De Guqin Studio" is excellent (link at bottom). The sound quality is amazing and the videos almost always feature a full view of the player, so you can see exactly what the musician is doing while they play.

@@bveracka thanks, yes, I’ve watched quite a lot of videos… What I’d really like though is some detailed and slower teaching ones following notation, so that I can see the left hand/right hand/notation pairing. I love the Guqin though. Beautiful sound. I get absorbed in it for ages and just play little melodies that please me… My wish though is to be able to play the more traditional music with some accuracy - it’s lovely to watch professionals play, but I am missing the instructional part of learning…

Are those silk strings? I'd like to buy a qin, but with silk strings installed. I noticed all of your qins come with nylon strings - even the professional ones - and that's not the best for sound, and of course not traditional.
I bought a guzheng from you (I think) _many_ years ago when the shop was called "Sound of China".

Silk strings are very unfriendly to beginners and need to be changed frequently
