THIS IS THE BEST! And yes, there's a high possibility to add no limitations to Ambient animals. It's best to not bring Steam port of Carnivores into the mix, because Tatem Games just gave up and abandoned them for more lame games.
Another fantastic showcase, the news on the new ambient AI slots is absolutely incredible and I can not WAIT to see what comes of it! As of this showcase, all of them were incredible, and I have to agree with you that in terms of visual design that Nothosaurus really takes the cake. Are there any living Tanystropheus on the map or are they relegated to a cameo via corpse?
I've already implemented living Tanys in an unreleased build (and even showed screenshots of them on ModDB) but Oli's recent breakthrough has already rendered that obsolete, ha ha.
With how far the carnivores mods have come, I'd love to see a video on the history and advancements of carnivores mods. Maybe even a retrospective of all of carnivores. That is... so long as the video doesn't kill the video editor
i just tried the moddb beta for the extra ambients and WOW. The ambients AI is amazing, the fish are amazing... But the icthyornis.... Man the icthyornis. It is amazing, and it feels like just like a real animal! I always thought that carnivores' flying animals AI were kind of an immesion breaker, as they never stop flying, but i finally got what I (and probably many more people) wanted! the fact you can also control where and how many of a creature can spawn is amazing too... Imagine the possibilities, mudlike fish on the swamps of turan chocks; gull like pterosaurs on the coasts of manya jungle; endemic, hostile dinosaur subspecies, which aren't available to hunt due to their conservation status... The possibilities are endless!
I had hopes that we would get additional ambient AI in the near future after hearing about Ornithomid’s Icthyornis but never did I think that we would get them this soon. I am so proud of the modding community, and I hope that someday I too would be a modder.
Great video as always Saurian. If I may add, what I would love to see, whether as ambient or not is Deinosuchus, that would be an awesome creature to add as being an iconic Mesozoic giant crocodilian. I think it would be good to see at Basmachee Rocks and at the Jungles of Gravitsappa especially and also the Ancient Temple and the Pyramids of Shmu-Hadron swimming and hiding at the bottom of the lakes waiting to ambush any prey that may come to drink as well as floating at the surface. They should also be able to relax along the banks and bask in the sun with their mouths open and hiss, that would be cool and intense to see and hear. They can also swim out in the ocean too where maybe the waterways connect to the shores.
Long ago I suggested that, just like pterosaurs and the Archaeopteryx are coded so that they spawn over dry land (in other words, where there is no water) and move at a specific height, underwater animals could be programmed in a similar way, only that they would only spawn in areas where there IS water, and move at a specific depth below it... I guess they may have finally done something along those lines?
Has anyone checked out the Middle Island version 3.5? We can find hovering black skin Mosasaurus in the water, and it makes the eerie roar as you swim close to them! :D

Hey man, I don’t know much about Carnivores games, and I mean no offence. But like, so many skilled modders have changed up these games to spend so long changing minute things like spawn areas. Don’t you think it would be worth gathering a group of skilled modders to become devs and create a new standalone game in unrealistic engine or unity or something like that? I feel like With people so dedicated, they could create an amazing modern carnivores exactly how the fans want. Idk just an idea...
Hey there! No worries, that's all been considered before. I'm no modder or programmer so I can't speak for everyone, but I do have an idea as to why. Entirely new game ideas and concepts have come and gone over the years, problem is it takes a lot of manpower and dedication to make an entirely new game from scratch. We already have the base built for us and access to the modding tools and source code with the original games, so it's more productive just to mod it with what we have. However, if you're interested in the most recent and successful entirely new Carnivores game concept, I'd recommend checking out Carnivores Corporation, I've got some videos covering it on TH-cam.
There should be a mod were you play as a dinosaur, any type as you want, and you have to survive other dinosaurs. Other ideas for new mods should be animals that could shoot projectiles. Hostile flyers. Ability to allow certain agressitivity ai(like the indricotherium from mobile ports) And most of all Debug mode and modding on mobile ports. The mod system should either be in game, or a new app(kind of like Minecraft pe addons
Who knew going on discord and trying to talk to all the carnivores masters would be so hard and depressing. I only say this because when I asked how to remodel carnivores 2 dinosaurs they say this. "This is not the place to ask that!" When it is a chat of carnivores moders, me in my head I'm thinking what how? Any way sorry I was just mad but I hope you all are having a good day ☺☺😎
You aren't missing much. The torrents out there are broken, glitched and totally turned me off bitter about this game. I gave up after continually trying to reinstall. The game is hopeless
@@lordgrunwalder1607 Someone could easily take advantage of this and just run off with the money, or worse. We're better off the way things currently are: the Carnivores games on PC are abandonware, anyone can make mods for them and get into them. We don't really "need" new official Carnivores titles for that to happen.
I don't think Tatem's made an official statement on it (and I doubt they will), but I know someone emailed them about it and they basically told that person that they've shelved Carnivores indefinitely to work on other mobile games, so I wouldn't hold my breath for it. :(
The thing is for mobile... you can relocate onto mountains and the predators cant get you... but thats boring compaired to the mobility on carnivores for pc
