I'm so mad that Manny literally said to the baby ''We certainly won't forget you'' and then him, Sid and Diego proceeds to forget him for the rest of the franchise. It was such a missed opportunity given that the baby is the reason they came together as a herd to begin with. I'm pretty sure that even if the baby had only vague memories, the dad would certainly not have forgotten that his wife died, his son disappeared and just as he was about to give up and move on, his child was returned to him by a mammoth and a spastic sloth(Diego was dead or so we thought) and would have surely told the kid all about it and what kind of baby forgets about going on a slide with a mammoth, sloth and sabertooth... Even a short where they reunited or even him spotting them from a distance and deciding not to hunt them and walks away or whatever would have done it for me. I know how many people hate the baby but the baby is the reason the franchise even got off to a good start.
I thought the cave painting at 7:35 was depicting the death of Manny's parents, which would explain why he is willing to give the baby back as he doesn't want him to go through the pain he did.

making this comment as im watching so there might be edits, but there is a few fun facts/details i'd like to point out from the films i've seen First movie; Manny is going north because he was about to jump off that cliff Sid runs into him at due to the depression from loosing his wife and kid. This was a theory for a while later confirmed by the writers. The humans are Neanderthals. Soto wants to eat the baby because the baby is the child of the human's leader. Soto describes this as a revenge mission as the humans wiped out half of Soto's pack for their hide. Second movie; there is no chance Ellie is Manny's long lost daughter. His wife and child were backed up against a wall and were stoned to death from above by humans, this was a surprisingly common tactic of hunting mammoths in the ice age and cavemen would have had no qualms or regrets about killing a baby mammoth.

While it may still be difficult to sculpt, given his very high intelligence, it’s definitely possible he could pull this off. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.
The first Ice Age feels like it’s from a total different franchise at this point. I like the second and third one but I wish they kept the more mature and dramatic tones of the first movie.
18:25 elephants (which i’m assuming would be similar to a mammoth) actually have up to 40,000 muscles in their trunk alone! and us as humans only have up to 640 or so.
I don't think Manny is actually going north in the first movie because he doesn't believe in the iceage, though that may be what he says. Because considering the fact his family was all just recently killed, I think hes going north because he doesn't wanna live anymore.
I loved the first movie so much especially the music. Pretty much every mature/realistic set up went completely ignored by the sequels. Does Manny ever remember his first family?
The reason why Scrat Tales looked so good in comparison to Buck Wild is, that Scrat Tales was still produced by Blue Sky Studios (the OG animation studio of Ice Age), before they were shut down in 2021. So technically one of the last things they worked on. Buck Wild on the other hand was a commission from Disney to an Ukrainian animation studio to make this movie on a lower budget.
Dude. First of all, this actually made it a lot easier to see this as actual lore so it was very good to watch. Second point is Neanderthals we're not at all stupid, go outside and find the specific type if food and specific type of stone and then use another specific stone to break the first into very well made very effective spear. Can't do that ay? Not stupid. Survival capabilities of those humans were likely much better than ours. But this video was actually great and I'm gonna watch everything you have
I don't recall Soto mentioning the ones they lost being females specifically. From what I remember, he said it was "half of the pack" that was lost to the humans. That may still qualify, though I have not seen the first movie for a long time

Love the reference
10000/10 Sid impression- truly channeled your inner sloth for that one

The sound of a man past his breaking point
How is Scrat so freaking strong, like, he has the power to split earth into pieces.
The type of video I get recommended at 2 am and actually stay up for
But this video was actually great and I'm gonna watch everything you have
33:40 classic Disney. They couldn't get sids voice actor for this movie but they got him for Mr. We don't talk about Bruno in encanto.
26:47 drake flirting with teens even in movies
8:08 i believe the reason why soto wants to eath the kid is because the humans killed the female tigers for the fur
I don't recall Soto mentioning the ones they lost being females specifically. From what I remember, he said it was "half of the pack" that was lost to the humans. That may still qualify, though I have not seen the first movie for a long time
@@SpacklerStudiosim pretty sure no females just makes him even more determined, at least.
