I love this guy. He could inject enthusiasm into watching paint dry. Not a dull, cynical bone in his body. How he carries himself mentally is as important as anything else in this sport (maybe more). Such a great teacher.
I've seen this before and have been told to do this before. I really need to regroup my plastics. You hit the nail on the head about plastics shifting in boxes, outside their package. Would you do a second segment on how you organize your hooks or setups? My example would be how you store all your pieces to a Carolina Rig. Are your swivels and beads in same box as hooks? Thanks Mike. Good luck this year!
Met mike at the bassmaster classic a while back super cool guy down to earth one of my favorite anglers
Grateful for the video, I got my first tournament ever, I'm 41 chasing my dream, and April called Icebreaker so thank you very much
I love this, like listening to an excited Barney aka Don Knotts.
I like this method by keeping it in the bag, it keeps it fresh. I also like how you put two or three bags in one 👍
This by far is the best video I've ever seen about storing Baits. You cover everything from A TO Z BIG TIME nobody else has done that yet!!!!!!
I’m you’re biggest fan bro! Have a great and safe 2022
Besides keeping them in their original shape and keeping the scent fresh I also like how its easier to keep up with my inventory. I have gallon zip lock bag I store all my empty packages in. When it gets a few empty the bags in it I will empty the zip lock bag and see what I need to restock. I try to do the same with my most commonly used hard baits but the boxes take up a lot of room so I only do it on hard baits that I use a lot of. Again this helps remind me what and how much I need to restock.
Man those handlebar’s are legendary!! 🤟🏼Great tips btw
Thanks for sharing your boxes and organization tips with us! Very informative and helpful-the perfect time for this. Look forward to more!
Thanks Jim! I got more coming!!
Great stuff there Mike...thanx!!!
I have an insulated binder, on warm to hot days I add a small pack of blue ice in it to keep them from melting
Ike man love your videos, never stop, you are an inspiration
I appreciate that!
Very helpful! Good luck this season!!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you! Never Give Up!
Thank you for your information. And your care in passing on information. You have helped me from catching 1 fish in a day to catching dozens over the course of a weekend.
I do the same thing now thanks Ike. Good luck this season looking forward to seeing you this year as usual.
Thanks, you too!!!
Very nice good tip good luck this year on the tournament trail
Thank you!!!
I do the same thing , except I put them in a lock an lock container with a blue seal container , kind of like a Tupperware container but not and I have one for every style bait , I leave them in original bag and the container is so deep I can stand the original bag in a file cabinet way to go through my colors , the lock and lock has no hinges but it’s has flaps on all sides that locks all edges down plus it has blue seal , and when I want a certain type of soft plastic I have the lids and sides labeled , this helped my store and digging through my compartment in my boat , I take one out and set on my deck or my floorboard , I leave my terminal tackle either in my drink box or under my console, loved the video mr ,Mike
Glad to see you again back in the tournament scene definitely rooting for you 👊
Appreciate it! NEVER GIVE UP!
Excellent information, thank you.
Excellent tip
Great video an amazing content Mike.
Excellent System Mike, I follow a similar system, plastics organization can become unruly, but a practical system keeps everything organized, regards, Danny...
I do the multi pack into one maneuver too... saves room and makes sure you don't come up short when the bass are hot on a certain color
Even before I watched this I’ve been trying to organize my stuff just like this. Now I’m not a tournament fisherman but I have so many plastics I’m just overwhelmed. I’m still struggling to get all these organized. I’m going to have to discard some but I don’t know maybe I’ll get it figured out. Love watching you man. Good luck and stay safe on the water.
Great video man! Thanks for the tips!
No problem 👍 Thanks for the support!!
@@mikeiaconellifishing of course! This will help me on these Arkansas co angler BFL tournaments! I was on the right track, but you laid it out!!!
Mike the bro stash is looking good man 🤙
Great info. I carry too many colors and I’m going to re-organize after watching this. Thanks Ike! 👍
Thanks for the support!! 💪
I gotta good feeling this year ike let's gooooo!
Heck yeah!!!!!! Never Give Up!!!!!
Great info as always. Big thanks for the multiple packs in one bag hack. Also really glad to see Ike still rocking that power stache. He’ll have a show on Discovery building choppers in no time.
My fishing powers are all in the Stache'
Hey Mike Like Your INFO! Great Stuff Great Learning Info
Great organization tips 👍🎣🇺🇸
Love the organization. I use the Flambeau long deep box and keep all plastics in their original packages. Great information.
Great Minds think alike! 👍 Thanks for the support!!
Love it, I'm getting a new boat in a week so great time to reorganize my tackle lol. What are your thoughts on using the "worm bags" that are on the market?
Hope you have a blessed year be safe and I will keep updated on how you are doing
Excellent presentation. I utilize a plastic drawer to Target to store my bags of plastics under my PA seat from worms back to beavers.
Works so well. Still frustrated with bulky Keitech paddle tails.
Great information
Thanks Mike very good information great fishing
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!! Happy Fishing!
Thanks again for sharing another great tip
Curious how do you pack/organize your soft plastics in your kayak
Great info. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great info Mike! Almost exactly how I label my baits. Biggest difference is I only have a Tracker PT 175 so storage in a 17 1/2ft boat is tight. I still keep my heavy in the back and lighter baits fwd. Got that tip from a video of yours months ago about setting up your on board tackle. Thanks for all the great content. Love your “in the shop” stuff.
Thanks for the support!! 💪
Wow, I need to do some reorganizing.
Big handle on the Flambeau 4510 Super Half Satchel Soft Bait Organizer makes it easy to reach around if the kayak.
Great info as usual thank you sir do appreciate it. One question if you was going to throw one bait next weekend on Fork probably what would it be any ideas
Hi Mike great video helps with my boat
Glad to help!!
Hi Mike I first met u at the bass tourney on lake Erie the last time they allowed none boaters to fish I remember those 8 to 10 ft dwells I fished with Jason quin hope to see you at mlf 1000 is tourney in aug I'll be a marshal keep up the great. Videos bob deuel
I have tried everything but this storing plastics never been satisfied. I'm gonna try this I think this is the best I have ever saw.
thanks so much!!! when we are fairly new at this game we DO get overwhelmed with what to bring out on the water EVEN JUST fun fishing....so helpful!! now how about hard baits and rods???!!!
yo Mike! just started a year ago and ive been watching your tips on fishing.
Thanks Ike. I have always kept my baits in the original package. I appreciate the tip on multiple packs in one bag. However I recently took my plastics out of the deep boxes and sorted them into ziploc bags. I wanted the boxes for something else. More boxes needed.
Good stuff!
I've always kept my plastics in the original bags in a Flambeau half satchel box. Like you said they are covered in scent and oil and I don't want those mixing together or stinking up the garage and boat storage compartment.
Can get stinky really fast!
this year is ikes year🤘🏽🤘🏽
💪 💪 💪 💪 💪 💪
I use my empty gulp bag to dip my unscented rig in , hook line and sinker. IMO it puts more sent in the water around the bait. 🍻 CHEERS
I’m also an advocate of in original packages. I’ve tried putting them in boxes out of the package and it worked well, but I bank fish and if I find something they are hitting hard, I like being able to put the package in my pocket and walk a little bit from my bag or whatever and not have to go back every few casts.
Crap Mike day before I unpacked all my plastics except power baits and put them in my 3600 boxes because I was having hard time finding my baits I had them packed in freezer bags in there package labeled I like the 3700 box idea thank you for your post
Good advice
Glad it was helpful!
Amen I keep them in the bag too to keep them straight and to keep the flavor.
Great vid is there a point where you stop smelling them? I cant help it I have to share the smell lol. Good luck this year.
Hey Mike I notice you have a tablet mount. May I ask which one you recommend? I plan on running a tablet this season and am looking for something sturdy that can with stand the beating. Appreciate the help! Tight lines.
I’m predicting a ELITE win for you this year
🔮
Great idea! Also I use many brands and sometimes forget the name of a bait or a color name!
This will Help!!
Have you ever tried dyes such as Spike it on Berkly products? I wonder what the combined scents might do?
Great video buddy God bless be safe and keep fishing
Thank you! Never Give Up! 👍 Thanks for the support!!
Thank you as well for all your knowledge that you share we have a TH-cam channel too called appling's heart me my 9 year old son and my wife God bless
Since you boat fish and kayak fish . Can you show how you would organize and pack your kayak for tournament ? Thanks
How about a video on storing soft plastics for a kayak tournament?
That's exactly what I have been doing this past week.
Thanks! I’m switching to you’re system
Heck yea! Glad it helped!
Mike… What Flamebeau is that exactly? It looks like the “WP5001 Utility Double Deep Open Core - Zerust” but want to be sure! Thank!
FYI… Jersey City, NJ in the house!!
Great info.
Love your shop.
Were can a guy get one of your hats..
Hey Ken!! Thank you!! Just go to www.mikeiaconelli.com/shop
What model flambeau box is that one that you keep your pit boss in?
If people’s friends don’t know about you mike than they need new friends 😂 been a fan since early 2000s city limits 🎣
Which storage box is used to store the bags of worms
As a combat veteran getting into bass tournaments, this helps a lot.
Thank you for your service!! I'm happy the tips help!! Never give up!!
@@mikeiaconellifishing giving up is not my MOJO.
What box number are those. I'm going to try this. Looked on line but didn't see anything like these
Ike, are these the Flambeau 7000R model boxes? I like your system, I've been using the shoebox containers to store mine, same concept as the way you're doing it. However, they don't stack well in a boat. These look much more stackable, would like to confirm the model.
I believe so
I think a missed point about packing multiple varieties of soft plastics in a box is color bleeding. Ive found this out the hard way and ruined a ton of bags. Itll bleed right through dividers and if your box gets older or thrown away you risk transferring one worm to anothers location. I only have a box combined for like colored swimbaits now. Nevertheless good tips mike.
What size box is that mike
What's your favorite bait for the Susquehanna?
Berkley tube spring and fall
U see u in Florida
Dude...where'd you get that brown senko, wacky rigged to your lip?
Its a prototype
Got anymore havoc pit bosses for the rest of us. Texas craw was the best
Clear cosmetic/ toiletrie bags are good, they collapsed and you can buy them in many different dimensions.
Put bunch zoom worms in a box for a season and they were fine. The z man Ned rig worms not so much lol. They deformed some fused together some started tap dancing some grew eye… what the hell they make those things with?!?!
u spelled lizard wrong :D good luck at fork man!
Bag is the way to go. I don't like the clam shells. They're great at keeping the shape, but when you pull a bait out . They all fall out . Not as easy to store either . IMO
I do the same thing...middle of boat....lots of the best colors....but I put each catagory into heavy duty gallon bags seperated
Mike, PLEASE GO STRIPED BASS SPRING RUN surf fishing at the shore.
Flambeau box number please
show us that color that you intentionally didnt pick up haha🤣🤣
did he come from the boat or was he just breathing hard
All my stuff will easily fit inside one of those boxes ...
no thanks
No one cares
Right!!!
