Ill admit I finally tried the fork trick with poa, oh my god, they come out so easily, why didn’t I do this before!!! Yes there’s a few patches now, but I overseeded. So much better as the lawn looks better despite the bare patches as all uniformed green now
doff grass seed..3 quid from poundland and it really did the trick...re seeded whole lawn...no expensive tools ...hard work😊

Hi Dan Thanks for your video's really enjoy they! I definitely an NOT a gardener, I can identify a Rose, Daffodil and a Tulip, but something about your video's mad me decide to do our back lawn this weekend it's around 105 square metres so not huge. Yesterday Sat 25th May I scalped the lawn, then Scarified the lawn (got an electric one from Screwfix) and I couldn't believe how much scarification cuttings (?) I got up, filled a whole green wheelie bin that the council collect every two weeks (That bloody heavy I could barely move it 😀!)
I had used some No5 to fill a few dips and realised I should have probably bought more (150 litres doesn't go far, but I'll work on that later in the year or next season)
Today Sunday, I've seeded, applied the wetting agent, raked on the Dan's Magic and put fleece on it, my question to you is..... how the bloody hell do you do that everyday @cos I'm KNACKERED and don't think I'll be able to move again until next week 🤪🤣🤣😂🤣😄 Keep up the good work love the info you give us (except the football that goes over my head 😂😂)

i managed to germinate my barenbrug rpr in 5 days, around 20 celcius the entire week with lots of sun and rain.
for once the weather forecast was right lol.

@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert still overnight frost , forecast for 20’s this weekend, just hoping for some proper germination. Dormant seeding is the solution here, but never 100%

Please can you do a video on how to make good lawn stripes? As in what are you aiming for when moving in lines, eye line etc
Already done it look for the thumbnail from 3 years ago saying something like mow your stripes straight
thats a lovely eight inches you have. also, have you tried using the stirling without the grass rake, i found it doesnt drag at low settings as much.
Any thoughts on mulching (just with a standard cordless electric mower), or best use of grass clippings, Daniel?
I don’t understand no mow may. Summers in Northern Europe are short. Why waste the best growing month wrecking your lawn?
Hi Dan, I've just moved into a new build and had all the clay dug out and 16 tons of topsoil brought in. I think I was a bit giddy to get the seed down, now it's coming through and I'm not seeing it with rose tinted glasses I wish I topped it with more of a sandy rootzone to get a smoother finish. If I'm going to try level it some more at the back end of the summer what's the maximum depth of 70/30 I can do or is there a different product I should use? Cheers mate, thanks for all your tips

Ive done a deep renovation of a lawn that was full of moss and thatch after seeding i have noticed quite a few weeds have started growing through. Can i use a weedkiller on them or will it destroy the new seeds coming through? What weedkiller would you recommend? Thanks 👍🙏

Do you use the glyphosate version of round up for this? We can't get that stuff here anymore. I think it now uses vinegar, which I'm not sure will be that effective...

Can anyone recommend an alternative to field compost no.5 that you can buy from a shop? I've just used 30 bags of no.5 but just need about 6 more bags but can't organise anyone to recieve a delivery so need a substitute?

I heavily scarified and took a load of moss away. Huge bare patch. Reseeded and its looking thin after 4 weeks.
Just want to check should I overseed again now or in the autumn due to the newly germinated grass?

Dan, i have a lawn that drains too well really. The turf dries out & burns quicker than most when the weather warms up. Any tips on managing this greatly appreciated.
Wetting agent to get the water into the roots where it needs it would be a start

Scalped scarify overseed top dressed with number 5 then fleeced (so many birds was trying to keep them off)

Probably a question you get asked alot but.......when would you say is too late in the year to do the lawn renovation work, scarifying, over seeding etc? I'm just in the middle of doing some garden work and when I'm done in a month or 2 my lawn needs the whole lot doing but don't know if I'm too late to be doing all of that
Can do it as late as september if you want obs summer needs more water so could be risky if there a hose pipe ban
