Thank God for TH-cam. Yesterday my nephew, Michael was trying to put our chain saw back together and the chain kept going slack, when a light bulb went off in his head and he yelled can I go on line and look at TH-cam? I said certainly. So as soon as he found the correct chain saw that resembled ours he went back out to the patio table and in less then 10 minutes had it put back together and fired up. Good bye limbs from that old Ironwood tree. Now stacked nice and neat ready to go to the dump. Thanks TH-cam.
Thank you for these videos. My dad did not teach me any of these things. It's very hard to learn this stuff without seeing it so these videos are a help. It would be MUCH easier to learn these things through social experiences but I don't have that. One day when I have a sons (I doubt I will since I can not afford those) I would like to know something to teach them.
This video not only help me understand how chainsaw works and how to use them but also how car pistons works. Very clear and concise explanation. Thank you

I don't know what the deal is with the nut and bolt through the bar, lol, that's a new one! That's not getting through any logs. Also, that's not how you sharpen a chain...apart from that, good demo
why am i watching this? i dont have a chainsaw. i dont want a chainsaw. i dont need a chainsaw. i have a 1500 word essay in for tonight and i havent done it. why am i here?
ive got a Homelite 14 inch zip start chain saw worked perfectly when i put it away last year.just tried to start it now after getting a load of logs to cut the engine stsrta and ticks over but as soon as i try to rev it up the engine stalls i have replenished the saw with new fresh petrol but all to no avail dont know if you have any ideas or not thanks, cleaned the carb with carb cleaner ,and the plug is clean
+ronatholl Sometimes the carburetor is beyond cleaning and has to be replaced. It is also a good idea to check the muffler spark arrestor to see if it is clogged.
as i work in forestry as a saw operator in the uk i can tell you that is by far the worst way i have ever seen someone sharpen a saw and people who dont know how to do it properly might see this and do it that way also inexperience people should use a file guide even though i dont i advise it for novices but apart from that very well put together (i only got told to watch it by a friend so i could say if it was any use to him and the answer is yes apart from sharpening il show him how to do it)
reeeeeally should have let the chain rev down before engaging the brake. If you engage the break while the chain is still revving high you could break the flat spring that moves the break in place.
I have Craftsman 18" chain saw where the Chain Brake is jammed: not able to disengage or to engage. Much much appreciate if I can get some help to guide me how to free it or to repair it. Thank you in advance.
It's possible. If that doesn't work it may be helpful to check out the repair help section of our website: www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/Chainsaw-Repair-Help?TLSID=1733

I have a Homelite chain saw need to replace the starter on it but the serial number and model number has been rubbed off . It is an older model. can anyone tell me if there is any place on the chain saw where the numbers for it could be. Or where a person could take it. I'd like to use a chainsaw with a cain guard so no one can get hurt and one that has a chain break that is activated automatically just incase I forget and my dad says that you can use engine oil but it will not work as chain oil works.
This is honestly the best animation for a 2-stroke engine I have ever seen on TH-cam
Agreed

Car engines are 4 stroke, while a chainsaw is 2 stroke. Similar, but with key differences.

Lol nice one
Lollipop crazy murder using chain saw killing people
I use a battery chainsaw instead of the gasoline one since you have to mix the gas with oil for the engine to run properly.
as i work in forestry as a saw operator in the uk i can tell you that is by far the worst way i have ever seen someone sharpen a saw and people who dont know how to do it properly might see this and do it that way also inexperience people should use a file guide even though i dont i advise it for novices but apart from that very well put together (i only got told to watch it by a friend so i could say if it was any use to him and the answer is yes apart from sharpening il show him how to do it)
5:59 to 6:04 That is NOT the way to sharpen the teeth of a chainsaw.
Yea. He teaching people wrong way...
Because they want more people sharp their chainsaw like that way that make their chainsaw damaged and buy more replacements for marketing.
reeeeeally should have let the chain rev down before engaging the brake. If you engage the break while the chain is still revving high you could break the flat spring that moves the break in place.

The most infamous murder weapon 🗿🥂
Everyone:knows a damn thing about chainsaws
Me: I just wanna he the doom slayer
my huskee lawn riding mower 42in when you engage mower runs about 3min then shuts down
Groovy
Aradhya Sharma nice reference. 😂😂
My chainsaw that I have will start and stay on for a little then it will shut off. I think I might need to clean the spark arrestor.

Been thinking about chainsaws in video games . . . They've Been Lying To Me!
I don’t own a chainsaw I just wanted to know how a chainsaw works..
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”
Romans 3:23-24
Thanks, now I can continue making music
Bruh. I did not KNOW that you can fit in a small chainsaw a piston of a car engine.
I have a Homelite chain saw need to replace the starter on it but the serial number and model number has been rubbed off . It is an older model. can anyone tell me if there is any place on the chain saw where the numbers for it could be. Or where a person could take it. Anyone else cringed when saw how the sharpening was done? Ugh...
I’m actually a car nerd, and I had no idea that chain saws also had internal combustion engines with an actual piston and a crankshaft.
Good video, but (6:00 to 6:04) that is NOT how to sharpen a chain.
Dont worry use normal saw 😂😂
I'd like to use a chainsaw with a cain guard so no one can get hurt and one that has a chain break that is activated automatically just incase I forget and my dad says that you can use engine oil but it will not work as chain oil works.
5:58 to 6:03 That is not how to sharpen a chain. Otherwise the video was fine.
Im making a car via chainsaw so im here lol
chainsaw replasment
Huh. It is almost like car.
Dont forget that buying anything other than husqvarna... means your buying junk disposable saws.

5:57 "The chain likely needs to be sharpened....."

"......or replaced"
