captain and commander far side of the world,, one of my most favorite movies,,,, we shall beat to quarters,,, absolutely love the drums, that would be a great anchor alarm on loud speakers and when your running up your colors 🇨🇦
Yes. Its an Raymarine ST5000+ electric helm humg motor. It makes all sorts of noises which is good so you kniw its doing its job! When reaching it tends to struggle a bit! EV 2 will have a hydrolic autohelm! Best way to go. Such a crucial peice of kit!! Thanks for commenting mate!! 😊
We spoke earlier today, my plans to meet up with you have been scuttled in the past. Things have been progressing well, today. I have hopes to be underway from cape Breton by month’s end. Scared of hurricane season, but don’t think I can just hang in for another season. I was reluctant as I sailed down the Saint Lawrence to the coast taking the long way, but I’ve had some awesome experiences. However added a couple of seasons.
That pond trip was a nice side quest. I could feel the panic in your voice when you said you are out of rum and beer. It’s very irresponsible to let such essentials run out.
Nice camera work. Small point but Great Harbour Cay is in the Berry Islands. Is your mainsail too big for the rig? It seems you never hoist it all the way up which in turn gives it very poor shape.
Aspiring sailor here, can you see more than 4.5 nm at sea level? You say you see an island that is 10 nm away, are you just seeing the highest point? Help me out here.
it depends on the height of land. Lighthouses are usually denoted with the distance you can see it- easily 12+ nm to see the structure of most lighthouses
Love the ride man. Thanks for jumping off the cliff!!
Your best video. Really good shots of your jump. Not much drama for a change 😁

Regarding cell signal, many times we had to put our aliv box in a dry bag and hoist it up the flag halyard. Worked very well
I was considering doing that!

Yeah🎉
Nice.
Are you comfortable leaving your boat while on a day trip ( great work 🙏)
It depends on w3ather and what anchorage. But y3s I would leave it in the right conditions.

I find you can see just about 10nm at the helm. Sometimes 15 if the land has hills.. 30 if there are mountains.
@@sailingEV888 In Indonesia I can see mountains 100 miles away most days after a rainy day thats most days.

Hey why not filter water from the Blue Hole?
blue holes are connected to the sea and are salty or at the least brackish
What's the name of your boat?
Evelyn “EV” for short, I believe
Mike, no shout out ?? I even sent you the lat/long for this entire video.
