The PS Vita was considered to be the black sheep of handhelds in the early 2010s, but i beleive now that after a decade after its release, it has garnered a reputation of utmost importance to own. Heres why you need a PS Vita in 2022.

Gone too soon... The gaming library could've been even more amazing had Sony continued giving it support. I still have mine, playing Dead or Alive 5 and Earth Defense Force every now and then.
I Hope they will do Something Like the valve Deck. It could be Epic It would come With GTA 6 First, would be selling Like gold

Just imagine vita had better playing games rather than gorgeous looking once. They could have had easily gone around the weak gpu and cpu...
The Vita just *felt* premium compared to anything else. I mean, mine is all beat up now seeing as how I got it the week it dropped, but that heavy feel *still* makes it feel like it's just a quality product.
I happened to jump onto the PS Vita bandwagon at the right time. I basically found one at a local Pawn Brokers about a decade ago, and purchased it when I had the chance. And now with the homebrew apps, and the ability to stream it to my TV, it's more brilliant than I could possibly imagine. And we have the fans to thank for continuing to support it, and I thankfully am one of them.

I been having my Vita since Christmas of 2015. Vita still means a lot to me. I never give it up.
I picked mine up a few days ago. Started playing uncharted ..yea It’s modded but holy DAMN I forgot how great it was
The DS was really nowhere near PS Vitas technology. It was good marketing Nintendo had but the Vita aged really well and it was way ahead of it’s time many of its features came first then Nintendo Switch and other consoles. I’m not claiming it’s better then other consoles now but it holds up really well and has a huge list of games. Owning one is a must.
I love Vita, and it's impressive how it still holds up despite Sony trying their best to kill it every day
vita means life in Latin, with Sony drooping it and trying to forget about it still has a living and health modding community to back it up even in 2022 and so it lives
Just revived mine. It's been over 5 years since the charger porter gave out. Got it fixed a day ago and I haven't put it down. I had sooo many games on there it's crazy. I'm happy to have it back.

Someone at work told me they modded theirs and recommended I do the same. I've had my vita sitting in neglect for ten years (bought it only for gravity rush) Once I modded it I got fomo and bought 3 more and two ps vita tvs to ensure I always have my vita library as well as a ton of emulators!

i sold my 3ds in around february, and got the vita instead. it's my favorite handheld, and the games are so amazing!! I just wish they didn't delist so many games for it :(

I had 2 vitas back when they released the first i got on Christmas right around the time it came out and i honestly don’t remember how i got the other but i had the white and black one i remember selling them both to my friends cousin $250 for both just because i got tired of it quick i didn’t appreciate it like i would now looking for another now
i get my ps vita from cex in uk and is with oled display the first thing i make is to open it i see that the display was very nice back in 2020 but i didhtt knew what to do next i put it on the drawer after about a year i watch a video on youtube how to mod your ps vita i order the game catrigde that you can put sd card memory on it and start the process after i modded never update the software again i put adrenaline emulator on it and other emulators still now im using it as ps1 emulator and of course psp emulator my favorite game is the tekken 6 and god of war no lag at all plays on native resolution i can overclock it as well also i change the battery so last as the original im very happy as it is now ps vita library is okish but as emulator device is amazing really

I wish they would make a new handheld. Or at least an extreme refresh of the Vita. It definitely didn't get the justice and lifespan it deserved.
Got a PS Vita a week after they dropped in my country…It was amazing and felt sooo premium ….honestly feel Sony made it far too exclusive, it was annoying and expensive to have to replace memory cards and chargers because it only used ones specific to itself…I had to buy like 3 chargers in the space of a few years…eventually I couldn’t afford another charger so I sold it…Remote play was a useful feature tho…I’m tempted to get one now
PS Vita is one of my favorite handheld gaming device from Sony, next to PSP. It's just a shame that the incompetence and the indecisiveness from Sony, other than just expensive proprietary memory cards led to it's downfall (heck even they don't acknowledge PS Vita's existence).
I know it may sound crazy to some but? I like the PS VITA better than the Nintendo switch. The Vita in my opinion is the best hand held I ever had that's why i bought two and tons of games
Um..yes u can still use the internet on the just connect to your wifi and browse? Also several games can be played online with others still

If you’re reading this hack your vita and join the community. The more people the better chance of developers wanting to port more games. I got one this year and am upset I didn’t get one earlier and the treatment from sony
I don't think we'll get any more official ports, reason being that the threat of the store being shut down any point in the near future, and all the loopholes people has to go through to just buy on the store in many regions, coupled with the physical carts no longer being produced.
However I have no doubt more homebrew developers will make games for the system, and hopefully we get more big homebrew ports, like we got with the Rockstar games Final Fantasy games.
I heard there's some third party companies that a making carts, set to be released in the near future(I hope it comes out) where we can actually put games on carts ourselves and create Box Art for it.
That'll be awesome.

I already have one. Now all I need is a nintendo 3ds because I like that slick clamshell design and it has some cool exclusives. Both systems are great but I have one grip with both of them, and that is touch controls, I don't like touching the screen, I prefer pressing buttons. So on vita I don't play games that frequently require you to touch the screen, such as metal gear solid 2 and 3, killzone mercenary. These games are awesome but I just don't like touching the screen.

i like the vita but for me no matter what the gameboy advance sp and 3ds xl will always be the sweet spot and best hand helds of all time
Like you said, if this came out today it would be great. The main game for me was the PlayStation All Stars game that was exclusive to the visa. That was also wasted potential :(

I briefly owned a Vita, but sold it because I am not a fan of anime styled games or jrpgs, and those account for 99% of the handheld's library unfortunately.
I wouldn't say 99%, but a good chunk yes.
However there's some really good Jrpgs and action games on the system that doesn't fit into that anime style trope.
And the PSP/PS1 backwards compatibility, and of course Homebrew.
The best versions of the GTA Trilogy is on this thing, also Bully, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and more.
Sony should make a ps vita 2 that has quality exclusives built for the platform as well as the ability to easily integrate the system with the ps5 by being able to remote play owned games. They can also put an emphasis on PsNow and market the vita 2 as an on the go entry device into the playstation family of consoles
Playing FF2 on the Vita while listening to this video. I have OG Vita and 2000 model, which far surpasses the OG. OLED is not enough to make it better. You can make it to look just as good. If you know you know *wink*

Unless you're hacking a vita I wouldn't recommend buying one in 2022. Recently they just did an update where they are essentially killing the vita. Transferring some games from ps3 to ps vita is no longer possible. Classic games like metal gear solid for ps1 will no longer be playable on the vita unless you had already transferred them over from the ps3. It is no longer what it used to be. Sony is slowly working their way down to the Achilles heels.
They really need to make another handheld console
I bought one In 2015 but sold it after a few months, where Sony went wrong at was them not having any fun games on the Vita like they had a great collections of games for the PSP. Which I still have. Michael Jackson the Experience was the only great game on the vita to me. But of course after you beat the whole game multiple times you get bored. I wouldn’t recommend anyone getting a vita. Get A PSP 💪🏾💯
But you can emulate PSP on Vita and still enjoy the few quality games the Vita had to offer.

It has to be a hacked vita. It has a program called adrenaline which allows you to play all psp games on ps vita and also ps1 games as well. So a vita is also a psp and ps1 which is cool.

I'm just going to say it: The OLED display was a mistake. Remember, this isn't modern matured OLED Tech, this was 2011 OLED and it fucking shows. I currently have the VITA 1000 and the display kind of sucks. Whenever there's supposed to be nothing but black on the display you get nothing but a splotchy mess.
Personally Sony should've gone with a good LCD display, it would've meant an overall lower cost to the VITA, meaning a lower price for the consumer, which was the number one problem for the VITA at launch: It was just too damn expensive.

@@Gloryboyquan Just because you loved the Vita-1000 doesn't mean the OLED screen wasn't a mistake.
OLED panels even today are generally more expensive than most alternatives, and this was even more the case back in 2011 and on top of that OLED was nowhere near as mature as it was today and plenty of used Vita-1000s have degraded panels because of this, including mine.
And Sony clearly agrees with me that the OLED panel was a mistake because the Vita-2000 got rid of the OLED panel.
Just because it made the overall experience better for the end user, doesn't mean it wasn't a mistake by Sony.
One of the biggest problems with the Vita was that it was too expensive at its asking price of $250USD. Anything that contributed to that problem was a mistake and OLED clearly contributed to that problem.

I keep my oled vita legit (yeah I know) and keep 2 slims modded. They are the greatest handhelds when hacked. I just picked up a retroid pocket 2+ but still keep my vita near

@@somethingcatchy4795 it's a rhythm game. i have the pc game but the vita versions have different songs and slightly different gameplay, plus one of them has a story mode. only games i want for t he system as i don't really care for indie games and jrpgs aren't fun imo
That is really up to you, similar to you I only wanted a vita because there was this one game I really wanted to play and that was persona 4 golden. When I got my vita I played persona 4 golden for two weeks straight. Now I play psp and ps1 games on it as well, and some other vita games. Though now I want to get a nintendo 3ds, because of some cool exclusives it has that I want to play.
I've literally had it since day one, I got it on release with downloads for unit 13 and gravity rush, with a physical of uncharted. I picked up with it all, and the damn vita memory card. It's amazing I have the slim version now, but it came out at a horrible time. Cell phones were everywhere with being able to play games free. ppl started playing those type of games which never were comparable. Also ps1 games psp games all kinds of great classics vita has always been my SHIT. I bring that out still over the switch I prefer the slim feel

Sony could have saved Vita by:
1. Heavily reduce the price of the memory cards
2. Bring out a better Vita, Charge £50 extra or more for it. This will make up for the cost lost on the memory cards.
3. Produce more AAA games

The Vita is amazing, but only of one can install custom firmware because to buy the games, pre-owned, is atrocious. At the moment CFW is on hold due to the recent Sony update to stock firmware 3.74. Some folks are claiming 3.74 is hackable, but more folks than not are having nightmares with it. Wait until ths hack gurus collectively sort this out before you do anything! If it's already hacked, spoof to 3.74 and DO NOT UPDATE!!

Bitch! I bought a PSP 1k recently after having an OLED PS Vita for a year and the screen STILL holds up incredibly well! Some noticable ghosting occasionally but nothing that breaks the experience. PSP games also look TERRIBLE on the PS Vita. Wish Sony would've added an upscaling option for them.

Me personally I hate the PSVITA now don't get me wrong. I love Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice that the only reason I buy a PSVITA. I could wish we had a BETTER Dragon Ball Z game because Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Z wasn't good on Vita and a WWE game for the Vita. That's would make it awesome. Also I hate the fact if u want to store all your content form your USB Flash Drive including Porn to your PSVITA you got used a FTP Server and internet connection to do it. In a major thing I hate about the PlayStation VITA is that back touch pad it useless. Now I cannot say the PlayStation VITA is not a bad system but after I experience with it in 2015 my opinion. I admit I'm a PSVITA hater really
