    finally someone who explained perfectly how to cook boiled eggs in the microwave and how it all works!

    Real simple . I use a 4 inch by 5 inch by 2 1/2 or 3 inch deep corning ware dish with 3/13 cups of water AND.. 1 level tablespoon of salt that must be dissolved in the water or the eggs will explode. A 1400 watt microwave it takes about 5 to 6 minutes to hard boil the eggs.
    The salt reacts with the egg shell acidity and keeps it from cracking.
    Put the eggs in an Ice bath to remove the shell or in the freezer to cool well then put a egg in a glass fruit jar and shake from side to side well. The shell usually comes off easily in big parts.

    I would have liked to see you actually peel the shell off of the hard-boiled egg. That's the hard part of hard-boiling eggs.

      Ha! That would have made for a much longer and more boring video...

    How about salmonella in eggs? Do microwaves kill them?

      I got 1 of those online at Carol Wright Gifts for less than $15. Only thing is they tell you to make sure the top & bottom parts are together and there's no gap cuz it will sorta worp or bend the top if there is.

    1. You neglected to discuss the POWER SETTING to use when boiling the egg.
    2. You neglected to discuss the difference between HARD boiled and SOFT boiled eggs.
    3.What effects do the POWER SETTING and the TIMING have on the hardness of the yolk ? To use this technique, one needs to know this.
    4. WHERE can one acquire the demonstrated equipment ?
    5. You never once mentioned the TIME required to complete the process.
    In short, some of the MOST CRITICAL information was overlooked during this demonstration. One could not be expected to successfully employ this technique with the information supplied.

      Power settings are different between microwaves. I have other videos that discuss proteins. The video was a discussion of a concept, not an ad. There is a search engine called Google that can help you find devices like this if you are interested in one.

    I have used aluminum foil under frozen pizza, folding all conners and exposed foil underneath, and use pie tins to warm up food...

    6 years later, people still explode eggs, sometimes from misguided tiktok vids or the dangerous 5minutes cra**.

      I had fun exploding eggs in that microwave... not so much fun cleaning it out afterward.

    I have a different problem can I help me, cuz I can't wrap my head around this, I just brought some duck eggs and tried to microwave 2 of them but I cracked them opened onto a ceramic plate and too it out when I felt it was done then left it for than 15 seconds came back and it exploded on the plate when it was just sitting on the kitchen counter, so I go to investigate it and the egg white was kinda plasticky... can u explain the exploding of the egg if it had no shell and explain the plastic btw my first time microwaving eggs and first time wanting to try duck eggs.

    • @TheDrKiki
      @TheDrKiki  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The egg white likely got a bit over-cooked, which would explain the plastic-like condition. The exploding was likely due to water that was trapped in the cooking egg that was heated to a vapor point. The water vapor built up, and burst out through a weak point in the egg's membranes. Even though it was sitting on the counter, it was probably still cooking a bit internally due to heat build-up during the microwaving process.

    I have exploded (opened) eggs in the microwave STACKS of times. And want to know how to get it to stop exploding.

      Ok boil water in the microwave then add the eggs to the water and microwave it again for three minutes remove the dish from the microwave and set on counter for an additional three minutes then rinse in cold water, hard boiled eggs.

    • @savitrrakatamatah7256
      @savitrrakatamatah7256 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never mind that results in an egg with a brown nasty layer inside between the whites and the yolk. Gross! But for a perfect white cooked but liquid yolk is boil water on stove add eggs boil for three minutes then turn heat off and leave in water an additional 3 minutes then rinse with cold water.

      although this weird kitchen device makes it possible to hard boil an egg in the microwave, it is still easiest to boil them on the stove in my mind.

      Just add 2 teaspoons of iodized salt to the water and that solves your problem

    I ran a batch in the egg cooker. Then, using the same water, boiling hot, ran another batch. They exploded within a minute. So….don’t start with hot water? 😮
