    It's always a good idea to own older consoles like this one because they are plug and play. Unlike modern stuff now that are full of constant updates and DLC

      Great to see youngsters loving the OG XBOX. It’s a very underrated and underappreciated console!!! Many of the third-party games run better on the system and what’s so cool about it is that in some games, they can play custom music from when you rip it off from a CD to the hard drive

    I own 2 OG xbox consoles, including one from near launch and they still work fine all these years later
    excellent console with alot of good games, its nice to go back to these older games. IMO, I find that modern gaming has taken a step in the wrong direction and find myself bored or not interested in a lot of the newer releases and this is where retro comes in and saves the day.

      I found this a bit ironic because when I bought the Xbox back in 2003, my sister invited her friends and played Xbox and PS1 loaded with 500 NES emulated games. We ended up spending more time with NES games because the games are not lengthy to play and somewhat less complicated.

    I missed my young days getting this console. • @Manic_Panic
      @Manic_Panic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the same tbh. Got mine, upgraded it with a 2TB HDD and moved hundreds of games to the HDD because that weak optical disc drive is starting to fail in all revisions. Plus, the default 8GB IDE HDD is probably not on good health these days. You can put almost the entire console library on a 2TB drive which is pretty fun.
      Also replaced all capacitors with new ones that won't leak and of course the general cleaning like removing dust and reapplying thermal paste.
      I like the Type S controller and it's my main, it's the Japanese limited edition one.
      Another cool thing you can do is restore the DLC for the few games that had it since they were gone when Live was shutdown, thankfully the community saved them.

    I actually have three original Xbox game consoles and the reason why I have three of them is because the very first one I got for Christmas many years ago stopped working on me since it wouldn't read any discs that I would insert in the console, so I ordered two extra OG Xbox systems from Amazon a few years back, one of which I'm actually using more as a dedicated portable game console almost since I have an amazing LCD gaming screen attached for playing games without the need for an actual TV. My other extra OG Xbox that I got from Amazon is hooked up to my main TV as a replacement for my first one that stopped working for me. I also have an Xbox 360 which is backwards compatible with most of my original Xbox games, but there are a few OG Xbox games though that I have that won't work on Xbox 360 since I still need the original Xbox to play them on. I only have just the original Xbox and Xbox 360 game consoles though since I don't own an Xbox One and I also don't have Xbox Series X/S either.

    Very nice. Pick yourself up a Xedusa from Beharbros to get a better video out and higher resolution (Tony Hawk 4 runs in 720p on xbox). You might want to pair that with an mclassic if you want to upscale and anti-alias it further, but it's not a necessity. Then take a trip to mod town and get that thing soft modded

    I didn't buy a OG xbox till the end of its life cycle at Gamestop for $100 and a copy of Halo. I got home and couldn't put the controller down. The best way to play the original halo is on a OG xbox. Not the master chief collection. I now have 2 working OG xbox's and a broken one. The broken one unfortunately has trace damage on the motherboard. I removed the clock capacitors on the other 2 which I highly recommend doing if you plan to keep them forever.

    Been playing video games near 40 years. I am Xbox fan since day one. I own 3 OG Xbox consoles black edition, halo edition, and a custom edition. Own them since day one all in perfect condition. But!! 2 of 3 consoles have clock power supply problems. Need repair. I believe OG Xbox had five different models but they always have power issues. If you play the console a lot put many hours in them like i did they will eventually have a power supply issue. I dont care had long you had one and you say it still works. Today if you play a OG xbox a lot it will have a power issue. Unplug it for a couple days. Plug it back in. If the console thinks it 2001 you will eventually have a issue. May be expensive to get fix. Sorry but but off with a new console. I hope Microsoft soon works again on more backwards compatible on OG Xbox games one of the best things Xbox is doing.... Be careful buying a OG Xbox today!
