      no because like or not the "best" colleges are not about education. its about the social status, connections, and network of being a graduate from said college. being part of the elite and positions, people, and jobs you now have access to. you are simply paying for a membership to the VIP club. what % of politicians have degrees from prestige colleges? the vast majority of them. is it because they are better educated since they went to the "best "colleges?"(lol).

    USC is costing 80k and 80% of students will be remote learning from their homes!

    I'd wager that Harvard an schools of that ilk are opening so that the foreign students, who pay full fare on tuition, will come back, live in the dorms, pay for the meal, medical and parking plans, and thereby significantly underwrite the whole school with that $50K tab. There's one reason why U.S. private schools are admitting so many Chinese kids, despite a brutal language barrier in many cases -- their parents willingly pay full price on tuition and all other costs.

    Here’s the smart move.... Start with two years community college and then transfer to the 4-year State university. Save the $$ and don’t go to private university... Use the fund to start your own business instead.

      It's not really about the education, it's about the diploma and all, it gives you more job opportunities and people will want to hire you, all because you learnt at a school that has a big name.

      Agreed. It gets you interviews, and a very powerful social network that has world leaders in every industry and academic setting. But you still have to make those contacts, go to the right parties, and know people who can be helpful. You also have to make the grades that recruiters take notice of. Just getting in isn't enough.

      I doubt it. Because the book smarts these people have, yet they lack real world intelligence. So most of them are book smart but in the real world are dumber than hell.

    It’s abundantly clear that you’re not paying for an education, you’re paying for a certificate...big difference. I didn’t go to school at all and made $175,000 last year. I may be the exception, but it’s definitely doable.

      Russell Denton how long was your training and are you able to go state to state with same cert. an work

    • @adaytoremember225
      @adaytoremember225 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well first off I work for one of the biggest transit systems in the U.S. I didn’t start off as an electrician, I got on in an entry level position and made a good name for myself and got into the department I’m in now. Since it was through my job, the school was accelerated and took about 6months to finish. I do have certifications, but even without that just working where I do, I’d be able to go to anywhere in the world and work if I wanted to.

      Station Recreation I heard him say that about parents having to stay home and watch college age kids and laughed out loud. However, in Illinois kids have to be 14 to be left home alone, which I think is quite old. What if I need to get some bread at the corner store? Pack-up kids!
