I love how they've used swedish words for the cars. Regera means to rule or reign and Gemera basically means give more.

Very impressive brand. So much more interesting and fascinating than the cliché Ferrari or other Italian stuff. Excellent work by Christian and his team!
Koenigsegg and Rimac are probably the two best manufacturers in their market. All the other brands are throwing extra turbos and cylinders and carbon fibre at their cars while Koenigsegg and Rimac are making legitimate innovations
Thinking about selling everything I own to get together a 5% down payment on one of these nice rigs. It'd be really nice with the four wheel drive...will be great in the Michigan winters...and with four seats plenty of room for me and the family to sleep at night. Can't wait to get this baby on order.

Pretty funny comment! Lou is right though: when SAAB stopped manufacturing cars, their factories we're bought by the business that now manufactures Koenigsegg. (corrected facts in reply below).

@@Jonasvolley After doing some research, I stand corrected. Koenigsegg is its independent brand, and NEVS is the car that is based on the SAAB 9-3.

Koenigsegg is the pinnacle of hyper car development and production. I simply love watching Christian's videos where he goes over the design and function of the tidbits that becomes the most intense road tearing machines. Hopefully you'll get to hop in a Jesko when they are available, I can only ever dream of the experience.
I would have like to see more than 3-1/2 minutes about this car and the technology used Jay..

I think Jay is not buying many new cars these days. I do not think he is that rich to be able afford all new hypercars.
Maybe his garage is full with his dream cars and bikes and he restoring other cars. A new Gemera wouldnt fit so well in his collection, maybe a CCX or Agera would go in a few years...

I am a 69 year old male commuting to my work on a rural highway when I encountered a semi crawling up an incline. Being an electric car enthusiast it dawned on me that in the very near future the skilled art of jamming gears will be a thing of the past. Who will document the difference between true intuitive skill, an automatic and the Tesla semi? I never attempted driving semi but the experiences of grinding up long steep hills have taught me many lessons. We have all seen truck driving in passing but documenting the how and when of anticipation and shifting and the skill it takes to be really good is missing. Ice road was about glory and fear but some drivers were poor at best. I don't want this to be forgotten history.
The Gemera is my dream hypercar.

I did see an interview that Christian said they use air to actuate the valves, and they also use air to pre-spool the turbos to eliminate lag.

The TH-cam version of Jay Leno's garage is so much better. Jay is much more natural when he isn't on TV.
Freevalve also means u need no throttle plate. U control valve lift to control throttle. ITS AMAZING techbology
This may sound strange, but I had a dream the other night that I was hanging out with Jay at his house and we were cleaning one of his cars in his living room while some sort of black tie shindig was going on. I've no idea where that came from, but it was pretty cool!
Christian has pointed out that they make their own PCB:s (printed cirquit boards). That is for engine controle. Injection, ignition, now valve controle, ICE/electric distribution, gear shifting, ABS, traction controle, torque vectoring. You name it. Not off the shelf from Bosch. But their own in house electronics. Nothing wrong with Bosch. They are as good as you get. But Christian has topped that.
Oh and by the way: no one has pointed out how amazingly thin the back rest in the front seats of the Gemera are. Like it's nothing there. And I guess they are holding up the seat belts in the event of a collision.

Would the air still cause the same down force? Or by opening vents on the body ...could we add down ward forces to say each wheel or dump all the air in one big vent, would that cause a center down force. Would adding a wing in the vent direct or..apply or reduce drag..

I thought of the cam-less engine back I the late 80’s. I thought, Why not use actuators to open and the close the valves? You can have an infinite variable lift and duration and a lot less friction. I called it vario-cam , but never knew how to move forward with such a crazy idea… glad to see I was not crazy 😜
Koenigsegg not only make fastest cars that's understatement they rethink & redesign every small things
If I were to spend a Gillion dollars on a hyper car it would be this one. Seems to be the most practical. 4 seats, adequate storage, 600 mile range plus all the aspects of a super / hyper car.

@@destructoidx99 I live in Michigan and you couldn't even drive that Koenigsegg anywhere without damaging it. I actually have a Jaguar F type convertible and have problems with that scraping the front because it is so low to the ground.

Thanks Jay for sharing this in my opinion Koenigsegg ranks the highest for me in the world of supercars. I watched the Tonight Show as a kid every night growing up along with the Doritos commercials and after seeing this I had to comment on your videos. The reason I prefer your Automobile videos to every other TH-cam channel. The human factor. Jeans etc watching your videos we can relate with you Jay. Its as if we are just guys hanging out in a garage etc talking about cars. My childhood to a T. Back to what I came across. Collision Course 1992 I believe if I am wrong please correct me. Anyway I am curious how many of these family supercars we are going to see on the streets here in Ohio if any?
