You can even read about the restrictions on the Nürburgring´s website! Imagine: There's even a 60 kph limit sign at the Ex-Mühle-part of the track. And it's even visible in several racing sims. Guess what: It is there for TF, not for actual record attempts when the Track is rented for private use. My English might not be the best, ok, but is it really that hard to understand?

That's around 60K euros per day, not including any extras like track marshals, paramedics, etc. It's easy to forget how much money that really is when we're used to casually looking at multi-million dollars hyper cars rocketing around these tracks.
They weren't banned for being too fast. They (and others) could still run the circuit but could not pass certain speed limits in certain areas. Not exactly a ban...

You can run it as fast as you want if you rent out the nurburgring for private runs like all manufacturers do. When you run the nurburgring publicly with everyone else, your hypercar's reckless speed puts all other slower cars in danger. Don't be cheap and stupid just rent out the track.
There are a couple of clips in your video showing an event called Vmax200, held at the Bruntingthorpe Airfield in the UK. I had the privilege of lining up next to a 1:1 (when it first appeared on the scene) for a blast down the runway. At the time i owned a c6 Rs6 that produced just shy of 800hp and 800ft/lb of torque (which i thought was pretty dam quick). Up to 45/50 mph we were neck and neck.... then it was like i put my handbrake on 😂😂. Up to that point I'd never seen speed like it. Borderline otherworldly, but a memory ill always have.

I think comparing the AMG One, Ferrari FXX or Pagani Zonda R to the Koenigsegg Jesko is not a fair comparison. Except for Pagani (who benefits from a Mercedes engine), both Ferrari and Mercedes Benz have Formula 1 teams that they can draw from for technology to use in their other cars. Also, Koenigsegg was able to break the world speed record without having been an very established company with a prestigious reputation.
Pagani has a Pagani engine, dude... ITs just that Mercedes special vehicle / special engine department makes it for them. At great cost. Its not like they just put in a Mercedes engine into Aston Martins and Paganis.

That's why the Engine also has the AMG Badging, since they are also proud about it. The M297 (atleast in the Zonda) is based on the M120 V12 from the W140 S-Class of the 90s, that was also used in a modificated version in the CLK GTR.

When you take into account the 7:01 that the Viper ran there, that's an astounding time, considering it was a car club who flew a couple Vipers to the ring, and in a matter of a couple of days, ran times that Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes couldn't do, despite those three basically living on that track, with no factory support whatsoever.

Those cars were also NOT road legal Vipers. And the Vipers are dedicated racecars. And they completely failed to achieve their goals. Dont believe this video. Koenigsegg has never sent a team to the Ring to do any kind of record attempt. And if they did, they would sure as hell do better than old Viper did. One Koenigsegg did crash at the Ring, but that was some guy with his own car. NOT some wooorld record attempt.
3 million dollars and the basic ABS system fails. They probably wont make that mistake again or was it maybe just the driver lying. Amazing company extremely humble owner.
They're now producing and engineering everything in house. They were outsourcing some components like ABS and stuff like that in the first productions. With the Gemera, Jesko, Regera etc it's everything built in house
Maybe because you're just waiting for another accident to happen, it costs money (the car and the circuit repairs), time, and puts the life of the driver in danger.
Who's next? Porsche... Up until Mercedes AMG One their 911 GT2, Manthey racing had the production car record for some time. And it seems they've been alternating with other brands. Absolute record still belongs to Porsche (919 Hybrid Evo)
They are good cars for the airfield, the overall usage apart from this is pretty limited. Why they never broke any records in SPA, Hockenheim, Laguna Seca?

After seeing the post of the Jesko beating a record on another track and only pushing the car to 75% I have no doubt in my mind that the Jesko can beat the nürbürgring record. I think the Valkyrie amr pro and the Bolide might have a good chance too.

It’s not 1.1 ratio as you state -narrator. ITS A 1:1 ratio. Huge difference. So if you wish to narrate in future get the speaking side of the script correct and proof read before the vid
1:35 Basseng also crashed this car (either right after Pflanzgarten or in Bellof Esses), trying to improve the lap time. It had started raining towards the end of the lap and instead of aborting it, he wanted to finish the lap. He lost control and the car bounced from one guardrail to the other and had damage all over. It was also a pretty special car, being the first ever Koenigsegg with tinted naked carbon body. It had standard wing and CCX Edition wheels. According to EVO magazine, it had 4.7 L engine with 900 PS, but they could have gotten this wrong and it was really a 4.8 L, not sure. The owner must have been cursing ever agreeing to lend his car for this test. They've had nothing but bad luck on the track since then.
Cones n Eggs has never entered any of their cars into any group test for any major publication. And Chris prohibits owners from doing so. All of their records and feats have occured in a vacuum with no other manufacturers and no independent judges.

Porsche only has to make a road legal variant of their Porsche 919 Evo Hybrid and Koenigssegg and Rimac would have no chance unless they try to build a car that corners as well. Power without control (cornering) is destined to loose on race tracks. Downforce, grip, braking and cornering speed are way more important than pure power
As much as i respect Rimac cars, tuned ICE cars still annihilate the Nevera. An AMS GTR Alpha Omega does 0-60 in 1.49 seconds (Nevera in 1.85) and quarter mile in 7.49 seconds (Nevera in 8.52). And the AMS costs 8 times less than the Nevera.

Its a pure myth that Koenigsegg is banned from the Nürburgring. Even the mentiones speed limits of course only apply for "Touristenfahrten", so for public driving. But if a company rent the ring, like Porsche did with their 919 Tribute, than of course they can go as fastest they want.
As much as I love aerospace engineering it has got me close to cars then planes . And koenigsegg is the perfect example. All the other car makers too it's just beauty.

The latest Gordan Murray car would be interesting to see on the track. Of course his goal was to make the car that is the most engaging and most fun to drive, which doesn't necessarily make it fastest on the track. It'd still be interesting to see how the most fun car compares to the most track focused car. And it's half the weight. Should do pretty well regardless.

And even now remains the fastest naturally aspirated car. I'm sure his later cars, also not built to set records might still surprise people. And also as for the chance of T50 accidentally being the fastest car on a track. Thats not what they made it for. And there are other cars that have 2-3 times the power. But it will be great, ofcourse. But I would think it has to compete with Porsche GT3 and GT2 RS. Which is obviously extremely good.

But I agree, a modern track focused car with twice the power even with a lot more weight, but more downforce, should beat it. I'd still rather own a Gordan Murray. I've driven a 2000lb car, and the light and tossable quality you get cannot be replicated in a heavier car. I'm just curious as to how well it would do. We'll probably never find out. And what if you did add a supercharger? So many questions. I'll never own any of them and I'm not turning down a Porsche or Koenigsegg if one appears in my driveway, I just have a soft spot for light cars. Because you can't even find a 2000lb car anymore. Maybe an Atom, and that's fun, but that's barely a car.

We had 4-5 supercars in the garage most of the time and it was fun and exciting. But they all eventually turned into houses as we got older. I also did my university degree in marketing with the intention of working for the car industry. So i have been to most supercar factories in the world during that time. Even tho I am... Hardly in the market anymore, and things have escalated wildly since... If you are looking for a 3-4 million bucks hypercar with unlimited power, you are well catered for today. Point was... I still think its cool and a hell of an achievement that they even exist at all. I think Im gonna go for the new Lotus.
Speed limit on that track is stupid considering the fact that youd have to implement that based on the worst aerodynamic car with awful weight distribution and bad center of gravity just to be effective. Then at that point, it limits the purpose of the track, which is to act as a NASCAR (true roots of NASCAR and not the donut of a race we see now). It helps create cars with interesting designs that is not only quick on a lot of road conditions but efficient at it
To be honest I think the Jesko won't be able to beat the GT3 RS MR time and that's why we will never see the Jesko on the ring. A possible defeat will lower it's value immensely. Horse power and lightness are not enough - Koenigsegg lacks expertise on the track, it is a brand that competes in the Bugatti area, meaning top speed and luxury.
The Jesko is Amazing,Koenigsegg is a Genius,he doesn't use a Unreliable Low Hp Mercedes engine like Pagaini,his cars are the real deal all in house. For the same price I'd take a Koenigsegg everytime.
Those eggs were on old tyres when attempting lap times and they are not even track focused, the lap times are impressive. Also i dont want to be that guy but porsche is pronounced wrong.
Nurburgring will likely be dominated by an all wheel drive electric. Likely, by a Tesla or a Lucid. Shifting a transmission creates torque pulses, which can cause loss of traction, and, transition losses, which negates some of the horsepower produced by the engine. A shiftless electric power train applies its power much more smoothly, allowing a higher AVERAGE horsepower to be applied, resulting in faster times. A combustion car could do it, with a very advanced all wheel drive system and a continuously variable transmission. (good luck putting ~1,600 horsepower into a push belt!)
My brother!, their least track focused car (Regera) obliterated a Senna and a BAC Mono, wich are dedicated track cars, by a full second in a small circuit (Ring Knutstorp). The One:1 with 70% of its full power held the record at Spa for years. Average Koenigsegg can stand in 2.0 gs of lateral grip, to compare this, a brand new 911 GT3RS, arguably one of the best track cars ever, stands at 1.4 max grip. So no! Every Koenigsegg is good at cornering. And those are older cars, let alone a Jesko Attack and god forbiden if they ever make a LM car. They could even pull off a family hypercar that beats most 2 seater cars in the apex. So you're very wrong about that.

The speed limits at the Nordschliefe make setting records for production cars pointless now at that track. That Nissan's under tray was flat with no way for air to flow upwards through a fenders something WEC cars have implemented in their prototype race cars to prevent lift. The people at Nordschliefe could have implemented that rule letting cars with that mod go full speed but oh well. Nordschliefe records don't matter now. Gonna have to pick another track for the standard.

You are about 2-3 months late with that comment… Rimac has the production EV lap record at Nurburgring atm.. but that EV time is pretty slow (07:05) and the fastest petrol/hybrid production car is AMG ONE with 06:35!
Frist…even being a petrolhead myself - also owning a sportscar (not a hypercar), I am convinced of the fact that this hoursepower madness between manufactorers is now way too much. You can’t even use it. It is too much for normal roads. It is not fun to have a 1000 HP car, and not even being able to do 2nd or even just 1st gear flat out, before you loose your licens. Doing 350 at the Autobahn is not fun - that is crazy. The hypercars are the reason why German politicians are considering limiting the whole Autobahn to 130. Why not stick to the 250 km/h limit? Do one need 350 km/h risking to provoke the 130-limitation…??!! You can find plenty of speed and fun in the range of 0-250 also in the bends. The hoursepower competition is going out of hand - seems like to be a competition between men with small d…s. They are missing the point - it is all about the doing, not the size.
I love how you included clips from forza horizon 4 and forza motorsport 7 in your video, nice touch 👌 on the subject of the nurburgring, I don't believe it matters all that much, i mean yes it's a great marketing exercise but what does it prove exactly? Car manufacturers choose factory race drivers, choose the day with the perfect weather and even take into consideration wind speed and direction for optimal downforce and even tweak the suspension and aero sometimes.. they create the perfect conditions for the perfect lap time which is something impossible to do with the same car on a touristenfahrten session. But when everybody waits for the perfect weather and tweaks the car for the ring, they all drive within the same conditions.This makes it comparable to other cars and shows wich is the quickest. Also for touristenfahrten i think there are speed limits you have to follow

Koenigsegg really focused on every detail with the Jesko, to make it great on downforce, grip, cornering and so on. And for the time attack they would balance it out even more. So it is definitely worth trying to attack the time of the Amg one. Manthey Racing GT3 RS is even better for the ring :)

my only experience of the Nordschleife come from Gran Turismo 4. So, I will just express some simple facts. 1) Nordschleife is the real life daily road, we talk about roads around us except highways. 2) achieve a 7;20 lap running road legal tyres on this track is an athletic exercise 3) and last, when you accept that road legal tyres are the limit on this track, you've got to admit that 11oo hp /1200 kgs are the limits for this track. More power or less weight determines a car on road legal tyres who cannot approach its limits of this track. Koenigsegg or equals banned on the Ring ? ok, right. Please, make the difference @Laguna Seca or @Infineon Raceway or others tracks ready to accept Fast cars on fast n technical tracks. Driving fast and dangerously is too easy on The Nurb for cars close to 1100hp/1200kgs.
I wish there was also a mention of if VW actually banned them or not from the test track they own because of them not wanting to prove they had a better top speed than Bugatti. I had heard many rumors about it but nothing concrete.
Too fast to be allowed a shot at the record because of imposed speed limits? There's a simple solution that puts everyone on the same page. Make the present record holders rerun the Ring with the same speed limits imposed on them, and if they fail or refuse, take away their record.
My dad is a developer at koenigsegg (literly no cap!! I swear to god my dad works at as a dev. there) So i asked my dad if and when they are going to make another attempt and he said they'll give the jesko attack a try between 2024 and 2027. Well a lot of mishaps throughout the years is either the drivers the egg has need to be a little better or the car is way too expensive and not to par. Those years when they had speed limits could have easily beaten the ones that did do good at that time with their respective cars. Lots of excuses imo. I'll believe it when I see it. Peace.

First off it,s 1:1 or One to One, not 1.1 or One Point One. Secondly, it did not have a DCT. It has a very unique single clutch transmission. Thirdly, it's Porsche, not Porsch.

The Nurburgring has become so obsolete with newer cars and the speeds that they can reach. Cars shouldn’t be racing on circuits that can unsettle a car so much that it becomes airborne. Even racing it in a video game, it’s ridiculously hard with its blind corners and uneven pavement.
Koenesegg just doesn't compare to tye real things like Ferrari or Maclauren or Bugatti. The are way over turboed small blocks that no doubt blow rings within a couple hours. That blue smoke isnt tires burning, its oil being pushéd into the combustion chamber. The kost over hyped over priced so called super car made. And im a fellow swede, they advertise speeds like 315mph without even getting close to 300. Ill take any ferrari or Mac Lauren over these swedish lies

When you take into account the 7:01 that the Viper ran there, that's an astounding time, considering it was a car club who flew a couple Vipers to the ring, and in a matter of a couple of days, ran times that Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes couldn't do, despite those three basically living on that track, with no factory support whatsoever.

After seeing the post of the Jesko beating a record on another track and only pushing the car to 75% I have no doubt in my mind that the Jesko can beat the nürbürgring record. I think the Valkyrie amr pro and the Bolide might have a good chance too.

1:35 Basseng also crashed this car (either right after Pflanzgarten or in Bellof Esses), trying to improve the lap time. It had started raining towards the end of the lap and instead of aborting it, he wanted to finish the lap. He lost control and the car bounced from one guardrail to the other and had damage all over.
It was also a pretty special car, being the first ever Koenigsegg with tinted naked carbon body. It had standard wing and CCX Edition wheels. According to EVO magazine, it had 4.7 L engine with 900 PS, but they could have gotten this wrong and it was really a 4.8 L, not sure. The owner must have been cursing ever agreeing to lend his car for this test. They've had nothing but bad luck on the track since then.

The latest Gordan Murray car would be interesting to see on the track. Of course his goal was to make the car that is the most engaging and most fun to drive, which doesn't necessarily make it fastest on the track. It'd still be interesting to see how the most fun car compares to the most track focused car. And it's half the weight. Should do pretty well regardless.
The Gordon Murray cars have around 600 hp. They are built to be great cars, not to set world records.

And also as for the chance of T50 accidentally being the fastest car on a track. Thats not what they made it for. And there are other cars that have 2-3 times the power. But it will be great, ofcourse. But I would think it has to compete with Porsche GT3 and GT2 RS. Which is obviously extremely good.

But I agree, a modern track focused car with twice the power even with a lot more weight, but more downforce, should beat it. I'd still rather own a Gordan Murray. I've driven a 2000lb car, and the light and tossable quality you get cannot be replicated in a heavier car. I'm just curious as to how well it would do. We'll probably never find out. And what if you did add a supercharger? So many questions. I'll never own any of them and I'm not turning down a Porsche or Koenigsegg if one appears in my driveway, I just have a soft spot for light cars. Because you can't even find a 2000lb car anymore. Maybe an Atom, and that's fun, but that's barely a car.

Well. back in the day when I was a game designer in England, I had teh chance to be on the other side of that. We had 4-5 supercars in the garage most of the time and it was fun and exciting. But they all eventually turned into houses as we got older. I also did my university degree in marketing with the intention of working for the car industry. So i have been to most supercar factories in the world during that time. Even tho I am... Hardly in the market anymore, and things have escalated wildly since... If you are looking for a 3-4 million bucks hypercar with unlimited power, you are well catered for today. Point was... I still think its cool and a hell of an achievement that they even exist at all. I think Im gonna go for the new Lotus.
Speed limit on that track is stupid considering the fact that youd have to implement that based on the worst aerodynamic car with awful weight distribution and bad center of gravity just to be effective. Then at that point, it limits the purpose of the track, which is to act as a NASCAR (true roots of NASCAR and not the donut of a race we see now).
It helps create cars with interesting designs that is not only quick on a lot of road conditions but efficient at it

Horse power and lightness are not enough - Koenigsegg lacks expertise on the track, it is a brand that competes in the Bugatti area, meaning top speed and luxury.

Nurburgring will likely be dominated by an all wheel drive electric. Likely, by a Tesla or a Lucid. Shifting a transmission creates torque pulses, which can cause loss of traction, and, transition losses, which negates some of the horsepower produced by the engine. A shiftless electric power train applies its power much more smoothly, allowing a higher AVERAGE horsepower to be applied, resulting in faster times. A combustion car could do it, with a very advanced all wheel drive system and a continuously variable transmission. (good luck putting ~1,600 horsepower into a push belt!)

My brother!, their least track focused car (Regera) obliterated a Senna and a BAC Mono, wich are dedicated track cars, by a full second in a small circuit (Ring Knutstorp). The One:1 with 70% of its full power held the record at Spa for years. Average Koenigsegg can stand in 2.0 gs of lateral grip, to compare this, a brand new 911 GT3RS, arguably one of the best track cars ever, stands at 1.4 max grip. So no! Every Koenigsegg is good at cornering. And those are older cars, let alone a Jesko Attack and god forbiden if they ever make a LM car. They could even pull off a family hypercar that beats most 2 seater cars in the apex. So you're very wrong about that.

The speed limits at the Nordschliefe make setting records for production cars pointless now at that track. That Nissan's under tray was flat with no way for air to flow upwards through a fenders something WEC cars have implemented in their prototype race cars to prevent lift. The people at Nordschliefe could have implemented that rule letting cars with that mod go full speed but oh well. Nordschliefe records don't matter now. Gonna have to pick another track for the standard.

Frist…even being a petrolhead myself - also owning a sportscar (not a hypercar), I am convinced of the fact that this hoursepower madness between manufactorers is now way too much. You can’t even use it. It is too much for normal roads. It is not fun to have a 1000 HP car, and not even being able to do 2nd or even just 1st gear flat out, before you loose your licens. Doing 350 at the Autobahn is not fun - that is crazy. The hypercars are the reason why German politicians are considering limiting the whole Autobahn to 130. Why not stick to the 250 km/h limit? Do one need 350 km/h risking to provoke the 130-limitation…??!! You can find plenty of speed and fun in the range of 0-250 also in the bends. The hoursepower competition is going out of hand - seems like to be a competition between men with small d…s. They are missing the point - it is all about the doing, not the size.

Car manufacturers choose factory race drivers, choose the day with the perfect weather and even take into consideration wind speed and direction for optimal downforce and even tweak the suspension and aero sometimes.. they create the perfect conditions for the perfect lap time which is something impossible to do with the same car on a touristenfahrten session. Btw great video keep up the good work.
But when everybody waits for the perfect weather and tweaks the car for the ring, they all drive within the same conditions.This makes it comparable to other cars and shows wich is the quickest. Also for touristenfahrten i think there are speed limits you have to follow

Koenigsegg really focused on every detail with the Jesko, to make it great on downforce, grip, cornering and so on. And for the time attack they would balance it out even more. So it is definitely worth trying to attack the time of the Amg one. Manthey Racing GT3 RS is even better for the ring :)

my only experience of the Nordschleife come from Gran Turismo 4. So, I will just express some simple facts. 1) Nordschleife is the real life daily road, we talk about roads around us except highways. 2) achieve a 7;20 lap running road legal tyres on this track is an athletic exercise 3) and last, when you accept that road legal tyres are the limit on this track, you've got to admit that 11oo hp /1200 kgs are the limits for this track. More power or less weight determines a car on road legal tyres who cannot approach its limits of this track. Koenigsegg or equals banned on the Ring ? ok, right. Please, make the difference @Laguna Seca or @Infineon Raceway or others tracks ready to accept Fast cars on fast n technical tracks. Driving fast and dangerously is too easy on The Nurb for cars close to 1100hp/1200kgs.
I wish there was also a mention of if VW actually banned them or not from the test track they own because of them not wanting to prove they had a better top speed than Bugatti. I had heard many rumors about it but nothing concrete.

Well a lot of mishaps throughout the years is either the drivers the egg has need to be a little better or the car is way too expensive and not to par. Those years when they had speed limits could have easily beaten the ones that did do good at that time with their respective cars. Lots of excuses imo. I'll believe it when I see it. Peace.

The Nurburgring has become so obsolete with newer cars and the speeds that they can reach. Cars shouldn’t be racing on circuits that can unsettle a car so much that it becomes airborne. Even racing it in a video game, it’s ridiculously hard with its blind corners and uneven pavement.

The jesko won’t do shit, like all their other cars, it just can’t have good handling, not if you want to go 300mph, oh and you forget the Agera R. crash when they attempted a laptime with that. Also how come koenigsegg doesn’t allow any tracktesting in competition with other cars where an individual team doest it and not themselves? Well at least since 2010 it’s been like that

Those speed limits only apply to track days. In an actual race. There is no speed limit. U really think the LeMans cars slow down during the 24hr race. No.
Track and tourist days no speed limits as well if there are no crashes
