    Christian Von Koenigsegg is a very humble man. From the very start he has never had a negative word to say only praise for the competition. At the end of the day, he is an innovator who puts his money where his mouth is!

    • @IanSmithKSP
      @IanSmithKSP 5 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      I imagine that the tooling required to make a tire of this caliber is well into a million dollars. For a big company to dedicate their equipment and talent into it, it’s well worth that price. When they expect to only produce a couple hundred sets, then it gets very very expensive. Koenigsegg can afford it. However when you’re only selling 80 two million dollar cars, 1 million dollars for tires is far too much to justify. Their approach as a partnership rather than an exclusive product makes a lot more sense.
      Whether I have my numbers right or not is up to us to guess, but I think my hunch is in the right proportions. Tires making up 1% or more of the production cost wouldn’t work for a small company.

      The 1/2 mile cars that are 3K HP are far faster, of course. There are steerable versions of the 1/2 mile cars that are faster. I think Koenigsegg is simply trying to make a homologated car from a manufacturer that is very fast and he should be commended for that, but keep in mind that for far less money one can build a Lambo or Porsche with 1700 -2500 HP and be far faster.

    You know, I used to think of Koenigsegg as just another supercar, but after wathcing this i realized how wrong I was. The attention to detail, and how its form follows the function, nothing superfluous , everything has been thought out and has a reason of being. This is the kind of car company you want to give your money to. What you are buying is not just a show piece, something to show off to other people, its a piece of art born from the dedication of the craftsmen. I am humbled just by watching this video.

      Just how they make all their own carbon parts and then have the weaves line up between body parts, if you start thinking about it your head explodes.. Being so small, doing so much themselves ánd delivering world class products is really a special thing. They have kept improving and getting more refined since the dawn of the company. He's only 46 now and Koenigsegg is 24 years old already, so crazy..

    Koenigsegg has a great combination of intelligence and creativity. The carbon fiber wheels, the hybrid power train (really, a supercar application of the diesel-electric locomotive idea), the hydraulic/electric valvetrain (may not be in production yet, but imagine a camshaft/valvetrain not coupled to the crankshaft at all, but valves would be electronically actuated to be able to move timing around however you wanted to)--this guy is a real automotive genius.
