Price?? (sit down first..)
$230 ...yea (watch full video to find out why)
I would buy one if they cut the price in half😂😂
Honestly, I was expecting a higher price tag. I get that $230 is a lot, but it has everything that people wanted from their multitool and eventually, that price will probably come down a little.
Eh…. No really values to me. I would keep P1 till fall aparts. $230 just paints unique that is all… 🤷
Leatherman has a great military discount for those who qualify
I bought a Charge TTI which is around $190 MSRP basically only because it came with a premium blade steel (S30V). For Magnacut and this much functionality, and their warranty, I almost can’t be mad at it.
I can stomach the price simply because I haven't bought countless previous versions. This appears to be the most useful and well thought out knife replacment brought out by any multitool manufacturer.
I think it’s the perfect one and done if you don’t have many already. I agree with you there. I recently lost my two units in a move so I’m grabbing this one to make up for them!
yeah, the steel type and the scissors sold me
Plier head is inferior to surge, way less metal. No interchangeable saw/file blades. It's only advantage over the Surge is the magnacut blade. Surge is still king.
@@billybunter3753 here’s the thing, not everyone needs an F350. There’s folks who can absolutely tear up an F350, but not everyone wants to deal with a huge, diesel truck. That’s why Leatherman is sweet. Something for everyone. So I agree, surge is awesome, but I prefer my Arc because I normally have waaaaay more robust pliers on me if the job calls for it.
I have a Leatherman I've been using almost daily for about 15 years, if it ever breaks, I might get one, but I doubt it.
just ordered one for my dads birthday cant wait to see his reaction!
Just make magnacut surge and signal leatherman
I’ll keep the wave+
Agree. Rather Leatherman don’t waste the cost on unnecessary magnets not a fan of Free series.
…. Just want Leatherman implement a Surge Plus variant with Magnacut or Signal Plus with Half Serrated Magnacut.
@@seribas I like the idea on a Wave Plus Plus Variant with Magnacut 😂
and straight into the drawer it goes.
230$, it will be in the drawer for a long time
And might never see the light of day. 😂
Not if you actually have a blue collared job
I'll be using it everyday
@khangphantruong Leatherman has a life time warranty on it though. From the stories I've heard, they will honor it unless you did something real stupid to break it.
I'll wait until i find one on the ground or at a garage sale
The fact that there is still radio silence from Leatherman on this is insane at this point. The great all round toolset and most high end steel only any multi tool from any brand and nothing. Are they afraid of money?
My only issues with multitools was their crappy blade steel. I LOVE this…
They said the wire cutters r junk on this apparently it’s a design flaw and not havunf a serrated blade is a hard pass for me
@@SsShadowbaneSsSThe wire cutters on my Surge cuts through an 8d nail without any issues.
You can put a brand new blade into the Surge very cheaply. I've never seen one wear out anyway. Surge still has better pliers, interchangeable file/saw blades. Surge is still king!
Surge still is the king
that’s so cool it can do everything my leatherman Wave can do but for more money 🔥🔥🔥
Who wants a 250$ tool that your gonna beat the hell out of 😂 the steel won't be so helpful when it chips easy kr is a pain in the ass to sharpen
Ouch! You just embarrassed yourself in front of surge owners! 😂 Just joking...
So it’s basically a cool looking version of the wave
More like the p series
definitely keeping it in mind for someday but not anytime soon
YIPPEE!! Now even more expensive!
Just what I always wanted
For something called the Arc it has potentially the worst wire stripper Ive seen on a Leatherman lol.
How can you tell?
@@walterbwd the size and design of it. By being so small and not v notched, it will only be able to handle maybe 14ga wire at best. You have to press your thumb against the back of the wire when you strip with this style of wire stripper so you also have the added danger of dealing with the awl.
I don't think the arc in this sense is refering to electrical kind of arc, it's more of it being the most high end tool they make, like the top of the arc of their multitools. Plus, even if they meant it as arc, as an electrician, that's not something you'd want to happen right 🤣 and arc is when something isn't working the way it's supposed to.... Plus, if you're an electrician, not the best idea to use a fully conductive leatherman right? Just my two cents
I don’t think any serious person uses the wire stripper . Go to the cutters , don’t squeeze down all the way . Spin
@@nicholassprunk2581 oh that will work on solid wire just fine, but the dedicated striper on the can opener of their other tools works pretty great for stranded wire in a pinch. The cutter blades are just too dull to get a reliable strip on certain stranded wire.
Oh look a handy tool that combines many good tools into one less good tool. And now more expensive! Woooooo.
I love my wave
Can opener is a working model on the correct side of the body of the kit and is similar to the effective ye olde SAK in apearence. The original Leatherman has the can opener on the incorrect side, probably give Leatherman a call to have the revised parts posted including the spanners. Excellent demo video proving the tool to be one hand easy operation, thanks to you .
Very cool, just got into these. Can’t wait to get my hands on the arc
Leatherman is backed into a corner. They will be the makers of expensive niche tools for people who are looking for prestige. But the patents are expired on their practical affordable tools and places like harbor freight are going to eat their lunch. I collect and I can afford this, but most people will happily buy wave clones and many Leatherman fans are content with the ones they own. My rebar hits the spot as my edc. and I have no complaints about my micra, skeletool, wave plus or sidekick or vintage pst for that matter. We will see how this company does. But I'm not dying to get this.
I'd consider getting this...absolutely
Getting ready to upgrade out of my wave, can't wait for this one, lookin sharp!
Looks good. Often times a farmers go-to when the service truck is 10km’s away. Particularly the pliers, knife & saw. My Wave may be replaced.
I would definitely be Keeping this Leatherman Arc In mind love the one hand Use and also love thst major tools open from outside instead of inside
now if only it had the sewing eye on the awl itd be perfect
Thats beautiful
It has the perfect configuration of everything id use.
Such a good value for a USA made product. I love mine. Plus its a hammer
Not having the bit kit was was the biggest reason I didn’t pick up a free initially
They have this in stock right now at my local Sportsman Center, I’m going to get one.
Just ordered mine, only Leatherman I've owned before this one was a Raptor. The 30% discount is a huge win ! ❤
Still waiting on the potato peeler and wine opener.
Ordered mine!
I have a Core, SuperTool 300 and a Wingman, all are functional and serve my needs.
I need this
I luv mine.
Its great! Until next year!
Mine shows up in a couple days
This is amazing!!! Finally no serrated blade!!! Seems very similar to the loadout of the wave, but better, which I’ve carried and used every day as a maintenance man for nearly 10 years
I always felt like the serrated blade stayed sharp the longest. I found it useful when needing a sharp blade. What didn't you like about it?
@@jdata they do not make clean cuts and can be hard to clean between serrations.
Leatherman needs to come out with a competitor to the dual force, I haven't carried the surge once since getting it, adjustable pliers with a narrowish tip and wire cutter below the pivot fits my needs perfectly, a surge series with that head would kick ass
Duel force is that good yea, Im thinking about buying one?...
@@EZ-D-FIANT it's been great for me, I carry it at work and have used every implement, the adjustable pliers are especially nice for tight spaces where the needle nose style prevent getting good grip on a nut, the center drive also comes in handy multiple times a day, for me it's been the best all around multi tool so far, slightly edging out my Mr crunch
@@mnjcosby Yea sound, I'm a mechanic/handy man so have pockets full of tools always being used, I bought a Gerber suspension like 10 years ago and it was a terrible experience but I'm thinking these newer Leatherman ones look way better so I'm gonna give one another go I think, the pliers and driver sold it for me with this model cheers for your feedback buddy....👍👌👍
Love mine
Like I said in your other video, my Husband absolutely SWEARS by this and takes it almost everywhere when we go out
متُقنة جداً وصناعتها راقية للغاية ومتعددة الاستخدامات ومفيدة كثيراً❤
I dont carry any leathermans but im considering buying one as long as its not hard to get.
I’M VERY HAPPY WITH MY MIGHTY LEATHER MAN
🇺🇸💪🏼SUPER TOOL 300💪🏼🍾
IS MADE FOR CONSTRUCTION MEN 💪🏼🇺🇸🎉
I’m very excited about the Arc but I don’t know if it is enough to make me want to replace my Wave+. Decisions, decisions….
Need this. Very modern looking
I bought a Leatherman in 2008 from Costco that came with a small flash light. Traded the flashlight and $20 for a Tippmann a5 paintball gun but I kept the Leatherman. Still have it and use it to this day. The flat head screwdrivers have broken, the blade is chipped and the file is pretty much worn out. But damn it has been the best multi tool I've ever had. I just wish I could get those accessories replaced because I really do not want a new one.
25 year warranty bud. They can fix that for you
That plus my TiRant... basically the perfect EDC setup for me.
Looks well made
Finally a knife made with everything that I want. Scissors, file, good knife, saw, and awl. The two types of screwdrivers and the can opener are bonuses (can opener is more handy than you'd think), I bought the Leatherman signal, I love it. But this arc one will probably snatch my heart
The can openers are handy I agree! They make good package openers, saving dulling of your blade just for "ugly" jobs.
The Dutch knife channel that did a real world testing on the Arc said that the eyeglass screwdriver and the removable screwdriver will fall out if you try to hammer with the Arc
They need an all black version
Depends on the price.
Beautiful 🙌
Looks pretty cool. Definitely could take place of the Surge and Wave.
It’s perfect.
Wow😮❤
Would definitely get this Leatherman
Awesome! ❤
I like it
Love the external tools and design. Speaking of price where I am the asking price is 324.26$
Can't tell if Id go for this or the Surge if I would pick a tool now. But with time I can open the pliers and every tool on the Surge onehanded nonproblem no magnets needed.
Looking forward to purchasing
Looks nice.
Sheeesh!!! 🤤🤤
I bought one. Waiting patiently for it to come in 😌
Se ve de buena calidad y excelentes colores
Mhm, can’t wait to make work buy me one of these 😂
I may need one of those
I carry the freep4 at all times . I might get this just for the new file and mini driver
Best ones to me is the mut and the surge
Definitely want one. Use my Leatherman daily at work. But both are in great shape. So doubt I’ll be buying this anytime soon
Like pretty much every multitool ever made, I’ll buy this one too lol. None have replaced my Victorinox Spirit for a decade. But this one has the best chance yet
Been using my Wave for over 10 years now, no complaints but it's starting to show it's age. Might be time for the Arc!
Just copped
Minority opinion. I like all the smaller tools to be on the inside like in Wave, this makes them more protected and less junk getting inside from the openings like in ARC.
It’s all very nice but with the magnets I think it would be become a metal sliver magnet for me. My i phone grabs metal grindings in the little speakers from when I work and I think this would be even worse. Plus I think the serrated blade from the Wave would be better in the Arc instead of a saw.
Oh I'd definitely buy this, even at its price point. It just needs to come in wave form and I'll pull the trigger. Been wanting a higher carbon steel, blade for a multi tool for ages now.
I wish they would’ve put a thread loop in the awl/reamer
I have the Rebar, what does the hole get used for on the AWL? Always wondered lol
Man I gotta have one I must have 2 of them
This be cool
The T-shank saw on the Surge is too much of an asset to me, to ditch my surge. I just want Leatherman to make good blades across the board, not too much to ask considering their prices
Looks great, I use a surge at work, it’s had a lot of abuse still going strong. But working in the buildings I would love it if leatherman did a Stanley knife blade surge, even if it had a bulge. It would be so practical to quickly change a blade and yet have all those other tools in your pocket. Further they should have not stopped the wire stripper squirt. Or they should make an insulated electricians leatherman .I have the squirt on my keys. It has saved me so many times. Awesome proper real McCoy tools make no mistake.
I would honestly swap the large flathead and can opener for the package opener from the Pseries. Other than that, literal edc perfection. I like how easily swappable parts on the free series vs older models
Isn't that what the knife is for?
@@sgsheff the package opener really has some special sauce that a knife just cant replicate
@@reikyfoxxe1847 I haven't tried it, that's good to know
I am in!!!!!!
Yes please
lifetime warranty, works with one hand only, I have a couple of leathermen, but would not mind getting this. If you work in the field, these always comes in handy.
Im good with my surge, which I can also 1 hand
I would if huge Leathermans was my thing. You have to pay for quality. Always been that way. Usually it's cheaper in the long run. I have a Leatherman squirt that has followed me for years. Still working great.
Genuinely can’t wait to get mine and don’t give a 💩 about the price ither good tools ain’t cheep it’s an investment that if taken care of will last a long time.
Finally!
What i love about being half ass handy is i can make my own magnacut blade and buy a small diamond file and add it to my current Free for $15
???? Plz do tell where you can source raw magnacut steel for that cheap.
Leatherman does have discounts for Mil, LEO, 1st responders, AND STUDENTS. Maybe medical professionals as well. That’s 30% off.
230 really ain’t that bad when you have magnacut AND a diamond file in multi tool
When will it be made available to us regular folks?
100%
@@maxlvledc When will it, not just "Is it going to". Good morning, grab your second coffee my brother
September 25th is the official release - people found the REI item number and were able to order it early, already sold out with REI.
@@Lemon_Sage9999bro this is the funniest comment ever. I am going to use this.
Looks great, temped to pick one up. I do wish it had replaceable saw blades and the surge size scissors. Otherwise it's basically perfect.
Already modified my free to have all these features weirdly enough. Took a lot of time and money. I feel like this is an elaborate joke. I'll probably still buy though TBH
I want a butterfly multitool
230 for that. I got my last leatherman wave plus for 120. I would say for my use that would last me a while and would be more than twice as enjoyable. But still 120 for a serious tool isn’t bad either
I definitely want one but I already own a Surge+, two Skeletool cx, and a Signal. So... it's out of the budget for now. It would replace my surge for sure. I only use it on my camping belt since the signal and Skeletool are my daily carries.
If i needed a new one i would but my Wave+ is doing fine 😅
Wow. I actually might be interested enough to pay a good chunk of change for that. Probably not over 250 though. I gotta look more into it
Only 230, so even after applicable taxes, duties and shipping, you should feel fine buying it (when they drop/immediately sell out)
And leatherman offers a one time use 30% off for first responders, military, or students!
