I grew up in Calvary Chapel and then the Vineyard churches and I always loved both! I like the way Calvary goes through Bible scripture and I love the Power of the Holy Spirit in the Vineyard. I miss how the vineyard was back in the 80’s and 90’s. I personally saw people healed of cancer and asthma. This is such a great video I wish I had found this sooner

I was the worship leader at Calvary Chapel Whittier, a thriving church pastored by John McClure, a gifted Bible teacher. When Lonnie came to Yorba Linda, it started the Calvary/Vineyard split, which broke my heart. No doubt Lonnie was good at what he does. What is it that he does? Group hypnosis? Bringing The Holy Spirit? He sparked TWO of the largest Christian movements in California history. Chuck Jr has a good take on it, I think.

[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

There is reading scriptures and there is BEING, understanding the subtle meanings between the two is the key to going into the kingdom within.
Once the mind's habit of separation from all that is created on this earth is abolished from within by understanding that all was created for a purpose and thus were not created with any human bias then heaven on earth can be glimpsed at.

Hello Robert, I'm new to your channel I found it because of your great discussions here about so many important aspects with Chuck
What I noticed is that right after these videos you have pretty much stopped making videos except for family matters and your wonderful and beautiful "faith in yourself " video.
I have to tell you that I think there should have been a part 3 to your talks with Chuck and your inspired vocalization of perhaps a new ministry might be formed along the lines of scripture plus walking with God if you remember.
I think you both were into something there and on to something that I basically walking alone with God ( meaning I'm not part of any church or organization for 54 years ,I'm 68 now)
I wonder why you did not move on this inspiration and either focus on your channel here or even start this ministry or a book or a class . You and Chuck working together brought out some profound insights that I might say through ignorance of all denominations and groups are not represented among believers in Christ ( sorry if there are i mean no disrespect)
I want to know if you were pressured to stop talking about this (or perhaps Chuck was) because the "Pharasees and Saduseez" of our time may have put pressure on you.
Regardless... if you see this I think it was on your mind 7 months ago when you made the short but powerful Faith video.
Maybe it is time to get going again and again I'm sorry to be presumptuous here. But I'm needing to fellowship with like-minded folks again and just started to get involved with a small neighborhood church called Waypoint where it seems to be happening .
Love yo hear your thoughts on this Brother! Agape🙏👍👌👋💞

We cannot enter God's rest because of unbelief (Hebrews 3:18-19 (the whole chapter is good)). This is why (see James 4:7-8) we're told to submit ourselves to God and to resist the devil who plants unbelief in our thought life. We need to be totally Jesus' by removing double mindedness from our lives. Jesus had to be with His Father in order to live the life He was asked to live. Also, for me, Romans 8:28 has changed my CPTSD life filled with chronic, severe migraines. God is allowing these to teach me to totally depend on Him, to know Him to that degree and to thank and praise Him in all things (Ephesians 5:20).

I’m not saying it’s not ok, I haven’t studied up or prayed on this yet, but I can say that when I don’t hear the Word of God backing things up, there’s probably a lot of flesh or the mind involved. Oh God of the universe, God of all creation, the One True and Only God, i lift up Chuck Smith Jr to you and ask that he be filled with all knowledge of Christ and come to peace about his calling. I pray you’d have mercy and grace on Cape Cod and send pastors to raise up a real Calvary Chapel to expound The Word so It can go forth and do it’s work in creating a real, living Body of Christ just like we had at Ffort Lauderdale all those years! But the Word of God lives on and does it’s work by dividing between soul and Spirit and unfortunately for Chuck Jr he is showing to much of the soul instead of the Spirit of Truth. I agree with the previous comment that there is a “Jezebel” spirit that is influencing the church today. It’s a spirit that manipulates and seduces with a nuance of the truth.

I know because we led astray little by little when many simple things they had ceased and some very impossible to have! Many doctrines that we think are super holy was stolen from pagan religions like stoic religion, Roman religion! Father God was not presented as bloody angry God with the beard and grey hair! Father is not angry while He is Holy! Actualy God is holy Love but not Judgement ! We don't pay attention that sin brought aging ( Father is not old but eternal) , sickness ( yes sickness is the sin result originally that is why Jesus took our sins and we are heald by it)

Just because the church fathers and Catholics have been doing so for two thousand years. I encourage you not to throw away the baby with bath water. Read about the church Fathers, read about holy, living Christians of the last two thousand years and their experiences with meditation and communion with God. Learn about "Lectio Divina", yes, a method of meditation used by Catholics. Then, walk away with what God wants for you without dismissing without holy exploration.

Simplicity is very important when we live with Jesus! What I found that walking with God is more experiencial than intellectual, rigid. Evangelical theology became or maybe was in the first place a discipline Stoic ( pagan) kind of like religion when it is all about Jesus who died instead of us and that's why we can have same life Jesus lived as God and man! So many Christians could be free from any addictions they struggle for years just when would accept that facts it is not my discipline but His righteousness Not Mine! And we receive it by faith and by Grace ! Our self-righteousness lead us to sin and it supposed to because without God we are not able to please God! I met many Christians and Messianic Jews who is very aggressively defend living by Law of Moses and so called Commandments of Jesus. Btw, Bible is very clear states that the Law was given to Sinners not to righteous people and the Law make us more sinful but not holy!

it is important to understand that we are also a spirit. other religions also understand this and warn the beginner to not open themselves to what they do not understand. look it up. contemplative praying is not a problem for the veteran believer. the problem is opening the spirit when you don't know who the true Jesus is. opening yourself to hear the voice of GOD (re-centering, aligning themselves) and not knowing how to discern is a problem and is dangerous. you can open yourself to other spirits. the bible is not like any other book it is alive. I truly believe this man is seeking GOD and LOVES JESUS. But he can not deny the danger in doing these eastern mystic practices. the LORD warned us not to do as they do. You can be in the presence of the LORD with out inhaling and exhaling and chanting. When Saul sook Samuel after he had passed by using a woman with a divination spirit, Samuel was not pleased. just because something works does not me we should use it. the lord asks us to worship him is SPIRIT and in TRUTH. it is HIS way and not ours. we must show ourselves approved. let us seek HIM diligently.

Comtemplative prayer is what Jesus did and many mystics who have followed Christ since. So this Eastern Mystic practice has nothing to do with those who follow Christ at any level. Trust the Holy Spirit. He has them in His grips now and forever.

@@RobertRicciardelli Sir with all due respect I know the reformation movement, too. And I am not saying that it is wrong. For I don't know only God knows. But the spirit of the enemy will creep in where he can and it will. I have participated in contemplative prayer, where Pastors have guided the congregation in seeking the voice of Yhvh though the Holy Spirit. Where we've been instructed to move our focus on the Light (since Jesus is the light), to open our spirit on recieving from the Father. Prior to being graced with the ability to know the Lord, I came from a new aged, Buddhist, yoga doing culture. I know familar (demonic) spirits. I was trying my best to shut the voice of the Holy Spirit and say this is fine. I did so, because i had been constantly reminded that seeking the LORD this way was an original design of the Father and that other religions had taken this design of the the Father to seek their false gods. So, I believed I can meditate this way. But the Lord shook me in the middle of one of these prayer sessions, in front of the congregation. Though i will not share what happened next, I wll say this as the Lord permits. While we pray this way we can not be ignorant to the presence of the enemy and if you do not know the voice of your Shepherd you will be deceived. There will be demonic spirits pretending to be an angels of light if not the Holy Spirit itself. I am not judging you, I am only telling you to be cautious. I have children. I am certain you do too, so, it makes sense to introduce them really really well to who their LORD and Savior is, first. May the peace and grace of the LORD be with you and your family.

Chuck Jr. tries to justify the unbiblical practice of "contemplative prayer" which the likes of Brother Lawrence emphasized. Pastor Chuck had many theological differences with Chuck Jr. and this was one of them. Chuck Jr. continues to propagate his unbiblical ideology. He spent months indoctrinating himself deeply with the Fraternal Order of Roman Catholic Monks in a monastery in the central California coast. This is all documented in his books and blogs. This direction that he took tremendously grieved his father, as Pastor Chuck would constantly assure the congregation that he did not subscribe to this Emergent and Contemplative ideology which is rooted in Gnosticism. "I love my son, yet we agree to disagree on our doctrinal orthodoxy".

What do you mean by contemplative prayer and why do you think it is unbiblical? Joshua was told to meditate on the law day and night..2 Corinthians talks about how we are transformed from one degree of glory to the next by gazing on the Lord and beholding his glory. These are two biblical examples of what I would see as contemplative prayer - what is your view on these instructions from God's word and how do you do this vs the version of contemplative prayer you disagree with?
