Great minidoc here. He was always loved in Buffalo, wish he would've come back for one more season and a potential playoff game. But just as well, the guy played his heart out and more than deserves a happy retirement.
the idea of a harvard alumn with a bachelors in economics taking so much money from multiple NFL owners by playing well enough to get signed, but blow it enough that he'll get traded away to repeat the cycle is really gratifying to me
I went to like this comment And the number went down... So I had to relay it because apparently I was already here and I already like this and I still do apparently
i lived a couple houses away from him in Houston, he taught me how to throw a football and i became friends with his two oldest sons, i introduced them to George strait and played skylanders and minecraft with them, he was literally the nicest and funniest guys you could ever meet, even as a 14-15 or so year old i knew it and could see it.
That was one of the best NFL Films pieces, you can't help but love this guy. Must have been pretty amazing to play for all those different teams and teammates - it's like moving to a new school every year and being the coolest kid haha. And Charissa Thompson.....whew she's breathtaking.
It's incredible that Fitz never played for the 3 teams my family follows. Even more incredible that we still love/respect the guy to death. While he was never really "elite", he also had to literally deal with a new cast of players, coaches, and coordinators every season or two and he still kept chuggin. Nobody wanted to see Fitz on the other side of the field waiting to come in during an injury or blowout because you knew he was going to beat your ass as a backup. Strange he couldn't keep that consistent enough to be a full time starter for more than a season or two. Still, ultimate journeyman!
That’s so cute and cool to see each kid wearing the jersey for the city they were born in. It was fun watching FitzMagic. I had a couple of Franchises on madden with Fitz as my QB. That beard is forever legendary
Fitz started 147 games in his career and was the number one starting QB for the team he played 10 out of the 17 years he was in the NFL. That's a starting QB, man, not a backup.
@@RickyIcecubes That's actually not true. The Bills signed him to be their number one franchise QB and gave him a massive 6 year, $59 million contract with a $10 million signing bonus and $15 million guaranteed. They traded him two years after than contract, but they did sign him as their number one. I would agree that, other than those two years, he was signed as a bridge QB or QB2. But you said "no one ever signed him to be their franchise QB"--- and that's just not true. Also, even those years he was signed as a bridge QB-- Jets, Tampa Bay and Washington come to mind--- he was still signed to be the STARTER not the BACKUP. He broke the Jets franchise record in 2015 for most number of TDs as the starting QB. He also holds the NFL record for starting for the most number of different teams-- nine.
He’s the kind of guy that football fans love because he’s down to earth and makes you believe the every day man can make it with enough grit and determination.
Hes my favorite QB of all time. No matter how he played in a game, he played like it was his last. His entire worldview is just "hey let's just sling it, have some fun and see what happens". And it's a blast to see.
Fitzmagic should have a series for all the dramatic games and ups and downs of his career. His path has been one of the most interesting to follow in the history of the league.
I absolutely loved this guy when he played for the Bills and followed him with the same love after he left. It actually hurt when we knocked him out of the playoffs last game of the season when he was a Jet. He's easy to route for and moreover an all around good dude. Love ya Fitzmagic. Thank you for all the memories. -Fitzmafia fan
Nfl debut with Tory holt, issac Bruce and marshal Faulk looking at you for the calls. Wow. He’s a family man first and awesome second and a nfl QB third. Guy was so awesome on the field and looks like he’s doing well off the field. First ballot HOF for sure. Glad he’s doing well.
Bills fan here, we love our Fitzmagic. Always will, he gave us something to root for at a time when there was not a lot of reason to be a fan. Hard to say he's my favorite Bills QB when we have the super-human terminator touchdown machine called Josh Allen, but he's my favorite Bills QB. #RF14
This dude is up there with Philip Rivers for down-to-earth, goofy, having-fun awesomeness. Not quite to Rivers' level with the number of kids, though! 😂
Probably the greatest backup qb of all time and I don’t mean that to sounds disrespectful. All I mean is that Fitzpatrick was a rare qb that could adapt to almost any offense and bc of that he was extremely valuable to teams. Would’ve loved to see him as a franchise qb
HE IS BUFFALO THROUGH AND THROUGH! The only man who gave us hope in the mire of mediocrity before Allen! Still have his 14 in my collection to this day, and always will.
As a Washington fan i hate i didnt get to see him play a full season obviously ik we wouldnt have done much i just wanted to see if he could at least have good enough numbers to make a pro bowl
What a good guy. I just wish his last year in Miami the would of let him finish what he started. It really seemed like they could've done sominstead you could tell his feelings were hurt. It stunk
Best backup qb of his time... Life long Bills fan watched him 4yrs & I'll just say he was better then EJ + Taylor so I would have rather seen 5-6yrs tbh 😅
I loved this guy before this video now I want his 8th child…not sure if that’s possible being a male but if I could…okay maybe not…but I love the brother! This video should have had far more views!!
If anyone deserves a HOF spot for being a journeyman it's Fitz
hall of very good
Best journeyman ever
HOJMF
I wish the hall of fame wasnt so uptight with its policies
Josh Mcowen to
As a bills fan, I loved Fitzpatrick, and always rooted for him. A great leader, and always fun to watch.
AMISH RIFFLE
He played with the great terrell owens
Super chill nice guy too. Buffalo still loves Fitz. He was a bright spot in a decade+ sea of mediocrity..
Great minidoc here. He was always loved in Buffalo, wish he would've come back for one more season and a potential playoff game. But just as well, the guy played his heart out and more than deserves a happy retirement.
Him also terrell owens they both played together in 2009
We loved him in Cincy too. He found his way here. He went from being a nothing 7th pick to a guy you could absolutely count on to hold the fort down.
Literally one of the best backup QB’s and one of the most compelling people I’ve seen in football
Fitz started 147 games in his career and was the number one starting QB 10 out of the 17 years he was in the NFL. That's a starting QB, man.
Fitzmagic needs to be in the hall of fame some day
This guy is Bradys kryptonite!! 🤣
ABSOLUTELY!!! He's got my vote!
It’s about what you do for the game of football. Couldn’t agree more with this take.
No
Dude is a gem. He's had some epic games but it's great to see him as just a goofy dad too. Hope he has a solid announcing career
his kids wearing all kinds of jerseys from different teams with his name on is so wholesome xD.
the idea of a harvard alumn with a bachelors in economics taking so much money from multiple NFL owners by playing well enough to get signed, but blow it enough that he'll get traded away to repeat the cycle is really gratifying to me
He was an evil genius.. Avoided head injury and got paid
I like your Style but I'm also from Buffalo so take that as you will
I went to like this comment And the number went down... So I had to relay it because apparently I was already here and I already like this and I still do apparently
I always point this out lmao 🤣 glad someone else sees what I seen lol
Fitzmagic always a class act. Happy that we’ll still be seeing more of him.

17 seasons as a journeyman is a pretty unique feat in and if itself
It's incredible that Fitz never played for the 3 teams my family follows. Even more incredible that we still love/respect the guy to death. Fitz is a great dude! Loved this
Love that he never changed his number.. if you look at the elite list of WRs who caught passes from him it’s actually insane.
I love this family and guy!
Was endlessly entertaining as a player, I think it's impossible not to love this guy unless your Tom Brady 😂
This is one of the most wholesome things I’ve ever seen.
Hands down the GOAT of backup QBs. If you had Ryan Fitzpatrick on your roster you had the NFL's best insurance policy.
Fitz started 147 games in his career and was the number one starting QB for the team he played 10 out of the 17 years he was in the NFL. That's a starting QB, man, not a backup.
@@CyrilAndPriscilla But no one ever signed him to be their franchise QB, he was primarily used as either a bridge QB or QB2.

This dude has a Hall of Fame Career in so many ways
in madden 08 one time, I played an online game, Carson Palmer got injured first play, i tossed 9 TD's with Fitzmagic that day...
What a amazing loving family they have thanks for sharing your story blessed 🤙👍
He’s the kind of guy that football fans love because he’s down to earth and makes you believe the every day man can make it with enough grit and determination.

A great guy, a great player, and a great family. He'll always be one of my favorites and I'm glad to have been able to witness the magic!
It’s cute all his kids have his jersey from different teams. I always liked this dude.
Most interesting guy at the position, loved to root for the guy.
Beautiful family, nice guy Fitzpatrick it seems everyone likes him.
You really didn't need to be a fan of any team he played for, you just had to love this guy!
LEGEND.
Wow I love ur life.....and family accomplishments whooooo......!
That was really cool!!
Good job NFL films!!
the lil boy definitely gonna grow up and play ball , he got the energy of a middle linebacker 💀
Amazing family Fitz... Patrick 🕊️✝️ God bless you all ✝️🕊️

That’s so dope his kids rock all his diff jerseys
If it wasn’t for Brady Fitzpatrick would have 9 rings 💯
He’s top 3 forsure
as a seventh rounder, he's basically hit gold in his career
Beautiful
His greatest accomplishment is keeping his family together and staying committed. Blessings
FitzMagic will always be loved here in Buffalo!!!
Dude is a awesome person and was a solid Back up in the league 💯🏈 he wasn't a bad starter in my opinion 🏈🏈
I miss this man so much. I cheered for so many garbage teams because I just wanted Fitzmagic to win.
On god I never even knew this guy existed until I saw him on Madden a few weeks ago. Ive never heard of him!!
can't tell the story of the NFL without him, if there's anyone who deserves to get in on that criteria it's fitzpatrick
When the sister whispered to her little brother to yell 7 was so cool
amazing family :)
This dude is up there with Philip Rivers for down-to-earth, goofy, having-fun awesomeness.
Not quite to Rivers' level with the number of kids, though! 😂
"Can't change who we are."
I'm just honored he was with the bengals
Fitz deserves a gold jacket based on personality alone
I was always excited to see this man on the field….
Always liked Fitzmagic, he was exciting to watch and the most reliable back up ever. He would have fitted in well with my team the Vikings
Love a good journeyman story.
There's a reason he was on multiple teams. The 2nd most clutch back qb out there, behind tom brady
Probably the greatest backup qb of all time and I don’t mean that to sounds disrespectful. All I mean is that Fitzpatrick was a rare qb that could adapt to almost any offense and bc of that he was extremely valuable to teams. Would’ve loved to see him as a franchise qb
There’s a lot of love in that house. You can’t fake it…
One of the most fun players to root for in the NFL
Thanks for the amazing memories Fitz!!! -From Buffalo
Love Fitz.
Beautiful family, Ivy League pedigree, NFL dream job. One of the luckiest men on earth.
You will always be remembered as a dolphin by me
Wholesome
Enjoy Retirement Fitzmagic! You earned it!
I'm convinced he could be a professional comedian if he wanted to lol
Loved Fitzmagic on the Bills. 😂
HE IS BUFFALO THROUGH AND THROUGH! The only man who gave us hope in the mire of mediocrity before Allen! Still have his 14 in my collection to this day, and always will.
The 2 yrs that he brought 2 teams 10-6, and didnt get a chance at throwing 420 interceptions during a playoff game, not fair
Playoff Fitz actually would probably break the NFL think Nick Foles miracle run and Brett Favre mixed together 😂
As a Chiefs fan this man has a special place in all of Chiefs Kingdom for beating Brady and helping us get the 2 seed in 2019. He is a legend here
Low-Key Fitz 53-Man Roster isn't looking so bad
As a Washington fan i hate i didnt get to see him play a full season obviously ik we wouldnt have done much i just wanted to see if he could at least have good enough numbers to make a pro bowl
He was great on PMT pod
What a good guy. I just wish his last year in Miami the would of let him finish what he started. It really seemed like they could've done sominstead you could tell his feelings were hurt. It stunk
Just like Phillip Rivers I wish I can see him play more. But I can see him every week. 😁
This guy should go to HOF just for being the ultimate journeyman.
He'd always have that Fitz-magic game, then follow it up with a Fitz-tragic game.
"How should i know im wearing cubic zirconia" Thursday night football is going to be fun
beautiful
Easily the most lovable guy
whichever kid that was wearing the jets jersey, I respect you
“Never break a handshake”
A player who made the title of Journeyman cool.
Great back up
Also never heard a bad word about him Good Luck on retirement
Great guy 👌😜
I love Christa Thompson. Very good anyalist
That's I why I made this post.
Alan from the hangover
😂😂
Loved him that first year in NY. Great QB he just always played for some pretty bad teams.
The GJMOAT
He’s a HOF greatest back up there is could give you 2-3 good games
Best backup qb of his time... Life long Bills fan watched him 4yrs & I'll just say he was better then EJ + Taylor so I would have rather seen 5-6yrs tbh 😅
Couldn't agree more. Bills fan myself.
I see Fitzpatrick likes to keep his jerseys. I have his only game used Washington jersey if he is interested in making a trade.
I loved this guy before this video now I want his 8th child…not sure if that’s possible being a male but if I could…okay maybe not…but I love the brother! This video should have had far more views!!
GOAT
Great
Fitzmagic for HOF!!!
It's Fitz was the QB in Jacksonville in 2017 instead of Bortles they and he'd be super bowl champs! Go Bills!
