I’ll never forget texting my cousin who lives in KC that the Dolphins beat the Patriots and he went absolutely crazy. But not as amazing as watching Kevin Harlan call both games at the same time!

I remember this. This knocked the Patriots of of the #2 seed if I remember correctly and force NE to play a red hot Titans team in the Wild Card, and lost. Crazy chain of events.
Yep. Patriots started 8-0, and then got blasted by Baltimore then lost back to back games to Houston and Kansas City (the latter had some of the most egregious refball in recent memory) before losing this game. Because of the loss to the Chiefs, KC had the tie breaker and got the bye.
This helped the Chiefs clinch a first round bye in their destiny to win Super Bowl LIV!

Sad thing about this as a Patriots fan Was that we had the best defense that year. I was so positive we would be able to get a turnover, pick or even a fumble. Even if we did beat the titans we had to vs the chiefs in arrowhead and likely the ravens in baltimore

i love the fact that although the patriots were arguably the best team for some 20 years or so, they still had so much trouble winning against the dolphins which have been bad for the same amount of time
The Dolphins weren’t bad in the early part of the 2000s. Their Defense was insanely good.

I know the Dolphins are succeeding with Mike McDaniel right now and they might go to the playoffs this season, but I still think it was unfair the way they fired Brian Flores. Thought the players fought for him even when the roster wasn’t as good as the competition.
Not really. Brian Flores wanted to jump on board the "life is unfair boat". Drafted a useless QB because Brian Flores thought there was not enough black QB's. But, the last I check, black players and coaches dominate the league, not to forget the NBA as well. Everything that happened post-dolphin, well I leave that to the lawyers. But if your going to shit where you eat, you probably get what you deserve. It's to bad we (dolphin fans) couldn't retain Brian Flores as a defensive coordinator. Whatever he was doing was god-like.

I was at this game. Where the patriots supposed "great defense" made Ryan Fitzpatrick look like prime 1984 Dan Marino and the patriots offense struggled.
Man I thank Fitzmagic for this because my Chiefs got that 1st round bye that was much needed.

If the Patriots win this game, Brady might stay in Foxboro and could still very well still be there today, and they would've possibly won the Super Bowl in 2020. I feel like this game is what drove Tom away from NE. They haven't been the same since this game.

The following Pats game after this one would then change the NFL’s future. The Pats losing to the Titans not only lead to Brady’s departure, but it also allowed the new AFC powerhouses like the Chiefs and Bills to rise to the top and take over for years to come. Along with that, newer and younger AFC QBs filled the void left by his departure. The Pats after Brady was gone were no match for the new power in the NFL. So this game and then the AFC Wild Card game decided the NFL’s future in many ways. Sorry if it’s a long summary, but I just had to point out what happened next afterwards

A cop pulled me over claiming I was driving erratic. I wasn't drunk, just frustrated and confused. I handed the cop the address I'd written down.
