    I’m not an experienced baker but I’ve been freezing my chocolate chip cookie dough just like this but the bad side is that you always have cookies to eat and you gain weight.

    Hi, Tessa❤ I have tried your cookie recipe and everyone loves it, I have been making them for 2 years now, but when I tried to freeze the dough the cookies turned toooooo soft losing its crispiness as if am eating bread, when I tried to leave it for extra 2 min they wasnt good at all and still didnt get crispy just very chewy as gums. Could you tell me what may be gone wrong?

    Does anyone have a suggestion for keeping cookie dough from sticking to the scoop. I really don't want to use cooking spray because of the chemicals. Thanks!

    • @rosebushgaming8475
      @rosebushgaming8475 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if there frozen they would t really stick but you could use oil or butter to put on the scoop or help get it out with a spoon I do that even though the cookies are not beautifuly circle there still delicious!!!!

    Did you have 15 cookies by using medium scoop? Or more cause that were all I can count in the video. I read your recipe and it said this recipe can make about 24 large cookie, but I wasn't sure what type of scoop you use. Please let me know ty

    When freezing….. after you make the dough… do you need to chill the batch for 24hrs before scooping into balls….. or can you skip that step since you are freezing?

    • @TessaAriasTV
      @TessaAriasTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tricia! You want to chill your dough for 24-72 hours, and then bake or freeze. The magic happens in the fridge. Once you put the dough in the freezer, the moisture in the dough will actually freeze; it’s like the dough is in suspended-animation and the flour/starch won’t be able to absorb moisture because the moisture is frozen. Tessa goes into this in more detail about the science behind this, in this article here: handletheheat.com/the-1-reason-why-you-should-chill-your-cookie-dough/ :) I hope that helps!

    I wish cookie dough would flatten after being frozen instead of turning out like puffy pucks when cooked. They never seem to look like they did before freezing or even refrigerating for that matter. I still haven't figured out the solution. Any suggestions would help.

    • @TessaAriasTV
      @TessaAriasTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you lower the temperature you bake at, they'll spread perfectly - check out the article linked in the caption above for more tips! :)

    In your article you mentioned that when baking from frozen to "Preheat the oven to about 20 degrees lower than the original recipe temperature" and increase baking time etc. How important is it to lower the oven temperature? Please clarify as I'm sharing frozen/shaped Browned Butter Toffee Choc Chip Cookies with my son want to tell him exactly how to bake from frozen. Thank you.

      @@triciahanley651 Nope!

    • @ecksjacob
      @ecksjacob 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the point of lowering the temperature of the oven is because it may cook the outer dough easily (that it might burn) and you'll have uncooked inner cookie dough. lowering the temperatire can give the cookies the time to thaw completely and cook the inner dough without burning the outer cookie dough :) hope that helps!
