  • I set myself the challenge to try and build a PROFITABLE Etsy store in 24 hours..you don't want to miss this.
    There's lots of ways to make money on Etsy in 2024, from print on demand to selling digital downloads - so I wanted to put it to the test to see how much money I could make online just using Etsy.
    Tools used in video:
    ▶▶ Sign up for a free Printful account here- www.printful.c...
    ▶▶ SaleSamurai -bit.ly/salesamuri (Etsy tool that shows keyword opportunities) Use code liamjameskay to get 20% off
    ▶▶ Alura - www.alura.io/?... (Etsy tool that shows revenue)
    ▶▶ Want my BRAND NEW Print on Demand course 👉 Join my make money community LoadedLab bit.ly/join-lo...
    You can apply what I learnt to your own Etsy store whether you're starting a print on demand t-shirt business or selling pngs.

    • @dannprairie9202
      @dannprairie9202 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is something that I do not understand. Isn't Printiful supposed to ship the product from a printing point close to the customer who bought it? So there shouldn't be any manual configuration. Otherwise, doesn't it contradict the automated service that Printiful claims to offer?---> 12:29

    For all viewers seeking to be successful keep in mind one big thing: if you see a video like this telling you they can make a successful shop on Etsy, or any profitable business within 24 hours or days, chances are they can. WHY? because they have been grinding for years working on their craft and understand what they need to do. So, if you think your gona just copy what they did and make it quick, it's not the case. It's a long journey to reach their level. Just keep grinding, learning and pushing to master any business you set your mind to. It's a marathon to reach a level where your rolling in cash every day. This is the biggest lesson I've learned in my journey to succeed online. I keep watching videos like this is thinking I can make it with just a few months of little effort. Only to get frustrated by the lack of results and just quit. Now, I'm trying again, and this time, I'm in it for the long haul.

      He doesn't even understand how Etsy ranking works. He wasn't really ranking first. Etsy customizes search ranking based on the products you view and search for, so that's why you'll see your own items on the first page, but a customer might see it on the 18th page. I just used the same search term and couldn't find any of his shirts on the first three pages.
      Second, it takes 90 days for the Etsy algorithm to finish analyzing your listing and to understand what keywords it should show up in. You can get that info from a site like eRank. It's highly unlikely he got an organic sale after 24 hours; he likely dumped a bunch of money into Etsy ads or promoted his listing on one of his other socials.
      I've been an Etsy seller for 3.5 years. It is not as easy as he or other gurus make it seem. And the market is flooded with POD t-shirts, because that's a common niche for Etsy TH-cam "gurus" telling people they can make bank on Etsy.

  • @arczealdesigns9512
    @arczealdesigns9512 ปีที่แล้ว +38

    Etsy always puts new listings at the top for the first 24 hours. Those listings will tank to above 500 after that if they do not get any sales.

  • @Cody-ms7hc
    @Cody-ms7hc ปีที่แล้ว +43

    I am not yet an etsy seller. Still planning on it as I slowly prepare items more handmade.
    And from what ive heard, this can get very profitable as time goes on. Ive heard that etsy rewards profitable sellers with more opportunity for attention. So with diligence and time, this is a snowball effect that starts slow, and increasingly moves faster as momentum is built up. And the diligence is needed to keep that ball rolling and allow it to pickup speed.

      Forgive me, I have not gotten my etsy account set up. I actually started focusing on other stuff that took my attention away from it. Perhaps in the future I'll get to it.
      But to your question, I had just listened to multiple people who knew their stuff about etsy, very well. Either people that knew the "background" algorithms for how easy works or people that had just built strategy for effective selling, And this principle seemed to be the common denominator of them all. Start small, stick to it, gain momentum. Diligence and patience are key ingredients. So I actually wrote this comment not from my own experience, but actually what I had heard from listening to others (as the comments says multiple times), and it just made sense.
      I see that comment is a year old, but from what it says, I trust its still rings true. And i would defiantly go by it if I were to start an etsy right now. So don't let me not having an etsy discourage you. Its is not because my plans and efforts failed. Its because other things became priority and I never started. So I encourage you to start yours and see where you are after even just a few weeks or months. Bless you 👍

      Its a lie bro, notice how the "sale" comes from a new profile? My wife and I have done about 6 Etsy stores now, up to about 1200 or so a month each. Theres no way to get real results this fast. Notice how the video is sponsered by the print on demand? One rule of thumb I always use to see through marketing. If this dude is making so much money from Etsy, why is he making youtube videos? IT's because Etsy pays decently, if your patient, just like youtube. He needs both sources of income to really make a good living. Take just about everything this man says with a huge grain of salt, hes not one of the super honest ones.

    You will rank high in the first instance because Etsy boosts new shops to see how well the audience will engage with it - you keep converting, you keep ranking. Soooo many new shops don't understand that this 'honeymoon period' is crucial for getting your foot in the door. Also.... not to downplay your success, but I have a bit of a suspicion that Etsy has bots which purchase from new shops - they would of course say it's to root out scammers, but I think it's to encourage you to keep listing. I've been on Etsy for well over a decade and I've never seen such a regular pattern of 1 sale soon after opening that I see in so many new shops now. Lastly, it's not against TOU to have a friend buy and leave a review! They request that the review should be honest, but yeah you can do it and definitely should as review-to-sale ratio is factored into rank.

    Hi was just wondering if you could comment on if your store was delisted and if so was there a reason for this, I searched for it on Etsy and says that it does not exsist I wanted to see it just to know how well the shop was doing but to my surprise it is no longer on Etsy please comment if you took it down or they did and if so why so we don't make the same mistake

    Why do so many sellers steal from each other but Etsy doesn’t care? I’m talking about items made via POD. But I have heard they do close down shops of people accused of stealing -- get this: the ones that make physical products! It’s a lot harder to steal those!

    Thank you for the content. I do have a question. So when you leave a review on someone's Esty shop, does that review show on all of their listings, or just the listing they purchased? I'm wondering how the digital file review helped with your other listings. Thank you in advance!

  • @justwhistlinpixie

    POD products undermine the spirit of etsy. I'm an artisan seller who's been on the platform for a decade, as well as a customer of etsy shops. People go to etsy for handmade items and get burned by mass produced POD crap.

    • @sakiatykatab2149
      @sakiatykatab2149 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use printiful ones, or you can buy mock ups, or even create your own using canva, of course. This requires pro. Or even make your own at home using pictures of the item blank and a nice surrounding, and then even this bit can be used to sell those mockups. Just in that question alone, there is money to be made. It is how you look at it ❤
      Good luck!

    Thanks for the great video! Quick question- what country do you say your items ship from? (since they can ship worldwide from different factories) can Etsy let you put multiple countries? I don't want buyers in Europe thinking the product is coming from the USA, but also don't want to close myself off to US buyers by saying my store is in Europe? Also, how do you calculate how much fees & taxes you will be charged before setting up a selling price? Thanks again!

  • @Buttress66
    @Buttress66 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, really helpful UK based advice. However Liam - when you notice on the video that your Etsy store is still set to US thus offering elevated shipping costs, you say 'oh, I'll just change that...' - it's not as easy as that, is it? Printful push through their shipping rates to Etsy and they are always set to dispatch from US. You then have to deselect their shipping and set up an Etsy shipping profile manually for each country from Printful's shipping rate listings. This is correct, isn't it? Is there a quicker workaround? Do you have a video on this as this is a huge stumbling block.....

    TBH I'm surprised that you'd assume most ppl would think it's not a great turn out. I am thinking about opening my own pod store and working on designs atm, and I'm not holding my breath on my first sale being within the first 24hrs. More like in the first month! Haha.
    On a separate note, can I ask how you tackle the issue of sales from/into UK/US since Brexit messed everything up shipping/tax wise?
    I'm considering using printify (note you use Printful) and I'm not sure how to approach it. Considering opening two separate stores, one for UK one for US to avoid shipping and charging issues. Any thoughts?

    • @sakiatykatab2149
      @sakiatykatab2149 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm pretty sure as far as shipping goes, there are lots of different people who provide for printify, so I'd recommend whatever one with the lowest shipping cost.
      Good luck ❤

How do I sell outside of the UK, like in the US? I basically was everything that is made in the US to be only delivered there etc.
