**It’s good to mention that you’ll be paying for the customers order up front vs them paying for it. So it’s a good idea to have $ put back for your orders. You’ll get reimbursed through etsy but initially your bank account has to recover the funds to print their orders. Everything has a cost to it from the orders to the subscriptions and it can be disheartening when you’re just starting out, low sales. Not to be discouraged though, just be aware of all the extra fees and the upfront costs most people forget to share when setting up store fronts.
I don’t necessarily think people are just lazy, but rather that they don’t have the money and resources to keep going with things like this. When everything has a subscription cost, product cost, requires advertising, a platform, etc. it’s hard to get noticed or make it anywhere.
I've been watching you now for three years. I just want you to know that I appreciate all that you do and all the research and information that is obviously time consuming as well as actually producing the content itself. Just wanted to say thank you.
Your comment about people just want to lazily copy whatever the most popular thing is, is where they mess up. Because they don't want to do the research into being unique or niche. Is 100% spot on.
The reason why people are not unique is that they would rather eat 1 portion of huge wedding cake (that is already there) than put a lot of effort in baking a small cookie for themselves.
narrow minds might now see that you and countless others are unable to figure out what exactly to copy and paste, or how to produce a professional video. How to come up on page one of what everyone is doing and not page 100 ? - its only original until its popular, once its flting off the shelf where do you buy yours from? its not about the product we know people buy. the part people who say its easy to do dont understand is....the hard part
Sarah is so generous is sharing “IDEAS” this is so time consuming. I’ve taken so many great tips that “I” can go research. I belong to a few of these sites mentioned in this video and she’s 100% transparent in how they each work. The good, bad and ugly. Thank you Sarah, so very much ❤
My mother is always making little sayings and then says "that's a t-shirt". She has my son doing it now too. It would be nice to actually surprise her by buying her a house with the proceeds of her ideas 😅😊
Genuinely love that you don't pretend passive income is a no-effort proposition. Yes, the money can keep coming after the work is done, but that doesn't mean you can take it from your vision board to your bank account without some effective work.
YOU are AWESOME, Sarah... your videos are so easy to grasp... you lay out steps so simply and make everything seem possible. I really appreciate you. Thanks.
True the larger stores with more of a track record will sell more of an image than a small copy cat store. But if you are not a large store and you come out with an original design, those same larger stores will copy your design and make more money than you will 😐
I honestly think the people who say 'etsy is over-saturated with POD' are the ones copying other's bestsellers and hitting those high-comp niches like nursing and dog parents. I'm researching my own store and I've found a honeypot of a niche; huge demand, low supply. Better yet I understand the customer bc I'm one of them, but every time I research an idea i find a niche that's just not being supplied. Developing the ability to have ideas and research them is 90% of a shop's success.
@@chelseafisher6881 no I'd never heard of it, just looked it up now. Interesting read to me as this 'blue ocean' method has always been my approach to things. When I started etsy I sold jewelry, but i was an artist so it was different than anything out there. That's the approach etsy shops used to have, it was about makers with goods so unique the market had to be created/found. Now most etsy sellers are just poaching what exists; unless that's better or cheaper, it won't work. They expect low investment to bring high return, but bc theres so many out there, its now typically mid investment mid return, it might even be more like a straight up gamble, depending on what 'niche' they pick. I found my niche the same way a lot of etsy shops did- I wanted something particular and couldn't find it. *That* is what people need to do in POD now; everyone's forgotten the 'low supply' part and are just going after 'high demand'. The other thing people forget is that most of us don't really need 50k a month 😆 my niche won't bring me that and its probably why no one's done it. Its the boutique approach; I'm small enough that I can harness a smaller market and still get my revenue goal. Anyway sorry for the huge reply LOL I am a nerd for this! (Should start my own channel...)
@@cr0uchingtiger your own intuition. erank everbee etc can only be taken as flat data, we don't know how much of that is organic vs paid/falsified traffic. Pick an idea, look around a lot, trust your instincts. Do that until you find a healthy niche with 2 or 3 smaller niches in it. There's no quick way to do this unless you set up a shop, list a huge amount of random stuff, throw $$ into advertising and then just start making more in the keywords of what actually sells.
what made you successful and is not working for others is your devotion to pay back to society by teaching fellow humans honestly how to earn. I m following many POD mentors on TH-cam, not even a single one (may be one I don't know yet) has crossed a million followers on TH-cam. It's truly your honesty that you never hide an even small thing in the process. I hope you will always be ahead of the competition. Keep sharing knowledge and get back the reward in monetary value, whatever you start you will be successful.
She's not paying back society, she's profiting off TH-cam. She has actually left some things out of this video. Her results are not normal and it is likely that most people won't make this money on Etsy. Most lose money as Etsy is notoriously bad to new account holders. They favour the ones that are already doing well. They also block accounts and take some down while leaving actual offenders UP. My 2c. I mean, what she's teaching here COULD work, but it is unlikely. :)
Excited for your success with this! It seems like being able to advertise the store using a video on your 1M+ subscriber channel was a huge marketing benefit and I wonder if someone could successfully start a similar store without that.
I assumed she is showing us the profit she made prior to sharing it on her youtube channel. Did you see ads for it in other videos prior to her posting this video?
Your video was on my suggested list and WOW you're clear, simple and thoughrough step by step process is Gold!!! Thank you so much for your generous share.
Too bad it's not good information dollars and cents..and sense wise..my posted comment addresses this clearly if you'd like to know why. I love her videos and they do inspire though...
thank you for sharing your success. Beautiful explanation. You are really talented. I have so many ideas and was looking for this business years ago on Amazon. But there, they don't do it anymore. You are beautiful, and so is your work. Thank you, God bless you and wish you the best 🙏
This video really helped me restructure how I think about my Etsy shop. I'm just on the edge of a major product expansion and your video just gave me so many ideas. Thank you for your clarity and resource listing. ❤
I like you because of how authentic you are, example being even after growing your plantform like this you're truthful enough to say things like using ads if need be❤
She comes across as authentic, but it doesn't mean she is. There are elements of selling on Etsy that are missing in this video. And if she can do so well on Etsy she doesn't need to be spending all this time making videos on TH-cam. However, TH-cam is yet another way for her to make (even more) money, even if we can't reproduce her results. There is a 99% chance we won't produce her results... based on statistics. :)
No kidding...the example she showed of Ads "ROAS" show she likely lost money spending over $10 on ads for 2 t-shirt sales. Very misleading. @@leroilightning4458
exactly, it‘s her job to play the „authentic“ persona, you‘re being played by entertainers, that play any role for click - being (or appearing) authentic is considered rule number one for YT‘ers. don‘t forget this is her job - go thank your next super market cashier lady instead…
Honestly could not keep up as an absolute beginner at everything. But through the video it was mentioned it's "very easy" and "very simple" which mentally kept me going. At some point realizing this is not for me yet. I have a lot to learn and do and experiment and grow. Maybe someone who has been doing this for a while or a lot, all of this seems "simple" though.
Another awesome video - Thank you Sarah! I have just started a new etsy shop to focus on a new niche. I haven't had any success using etsy Ads other than losing money. I have heard people mention that you shouldn't turn on Etsy ads until you reach the organic traffic down the road.. But from your video you turned them on instantly. Do you have any guidelines for Etsy Ads and how to use them to make money and not just throwing money out the window? 😅
An important distinction everyone should know here: The $ values shown appear to be gross revenue. That is, the total amount of money customers have paid. By the time you subtract Etsy fees, Printify fees, taxes and general running costs you'll be looking at a net profit of ~18%. That shiny $3,717 revenue figure shown translates to somewhere in the ballpark of $670 per week in your hand. While that doesn't sound terrible, note that this is from 134 sales with an average sale price of ~$27.75 per shirt. So, based on the numbers I can find, and assuming 20% tax (conservative), you'd be getting ~$5 per shirt in-hand. The rest of that $27.75 goes to fees and taxes. In other words, if you can't make at least 10 sales per day, don't bother. This would give you ~$350 in your hand each week.
@@gigiatlas2364it specifically says USD in the screenshots though, did I miss something? Besides, I don’t think the currency matters too much here. Unless it was in Yen or something there 2000 would be worthless.
Whiles you video is good but please don't misguide normal people on TH-cam. After 12 minutes on your video when you are talking about the Ads and ROI, etc, you said that your ROI is minimum 3 times and then later you said that for every $1, you made $4.57. This is a misguiding information because for every $1, you didn't made $4.57 but this $4.57 was your "Sale" i.e. the total revenue you generated i.e. number of product sold x unit price of product. This was not your profit. So effectively you spent more than 20% on your adds (1 divide by 4.57). Now, from the remaining amount, there would be your cost to the product and then any remaining amount, if any, would be the profit. So, please don't attract the normal people on video by showing them glossy picture but be genuine to explain the real story and true facts. Hope you understand as it may impact life of 100s and 1000s of people. Thanks you.
Well, that would be the viewer's fault, not Sarah. All you have to do is research. There are a lot of options out there. This is just one. This video is primarily meant to get the juices flowing and encourage you. If you do YOUR OWN due diligence, and research all these websites and read all the fine print LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO, then you'll figure all that out... If anyone jumped into this after ONLY looking at her videos, especially having zero experience with graphics, artwork, programs, ecommerce, or even computers in general...that's all on them. Her videos are extremely useful, and if you take the time to research literally everything you can, you'll have no problem figuring things out. Problem with people these days is they watch a video and it dramatically changes their life...rather than using it as a simple, informational tool for your own benefit. You drop everything and start doing what the internet tells you. Man, you have to be conscious and use your brain. YOU are the only one who can make yourself successful. Don't expect YT videos to do it for you. Most people have no clue what they're doing...they're here for money and not because they are passionate about this line of work and have been doing it for 30 years myself...alot of you are people suffering from our modern day depression. So...what do you expect? Your demographic is everyone now - not just graphic designers. So you get smart people and less knowledgeable people...and different results. Make sense? You're upset because Sarah is highly intelligent and she's in a good pocket, knows what she's doing. The costs of programs and subscriptions and options should not be surprising. That's been a thing for at least 30 decades I've been working in graphics. She is also kind enough to drop lots of secrets about these businesses. You should be grateful for the wisdom she IS willing to provide us... Thanks.
I've honestly been thinking of ways to make extra cash while trying to do a part-time job in my field but it doesn't really pay well. This is totally something I'm going to need to come back to and watch again.
Not just the video, this girl too is Gold! Video is jam packed with helpful information. TH-camrs or aspiring ones should take notes from you as to how to deliver their content. 👌💐
This is SO HELPFUL I've been watching videos about this for hours and yours is the best. Do you need an LLC to do all this? I'm worried about the taxes.
Kia ora Sarah, I did it! Not sure how well I did in setting up my store on Etsy. You made it look so simple and for me, it wasn't lol. I've been following you for a while and have been taking mental notes. Anyway, my first product is live! I won't give up my day job but thank you.
@@deanangel9907 They will cover themselves from your sale or at the end of the month if you cant cover the fees from sales then you have to finance them from your bank account. I got about 69 listings and only 1 sale so far so am off to a bad start.
Wow, this is such an inspiring approach to creating passive income! I love how you combined Canva's resources with unique design strategies. Can't wait to try the 'cross idea formula' for my own Etsy store.
Wow, what an eye-opening video! My main job is as a science-fiction/fantasy author, but I dabble in visual art on the side, and I've been trying to think of ways I might be able monetize my art pieces. Curious to see if something like this would turn a decent profit if I put my art on t-shirts and mixed them with witty sayings. Some very helpful advice here. Great video!
Help! I just spend HOURS creating and publishing my designs and when I go to click on the product it says it is unavailable. I'm beyond angry. I am an actual artist wanting to sell my designs. Did the entire process only for it to say it's "not available" because I'm pretty sure the two programs aren't compatible. What do I do?
Oh, alright!! I'll dust off those etsy designs I stored on a hard drive and tossed somewhere! 😂😂 In all seriousness, thank you for such an encouraging video. Im currently working on a coloring page store, but I will go through my pod designs and possibly get them in order for this year's Q3/4.
The problem with using Placeit is that the items don't exactly match to the Printify items. For example, Placeit has crop tops, but Printify doesn't. It's only good for apparel when using very basic items like generic T-shirts, but even those won't be a complete match.
Yes, I have another video you should watch in-conjunction with this video. The main thing about this to keep in mind, is that this video is not a step-by-step formula to getting rich. It is me sharing my brainstorming techniques I used to come up with unique product ideas that were actually good, and that were unique & filled a gap in the market. That is why my products sold well. Not because I used a "process" but because I came up with good ideas customers wanted. And so I highly recommend watching this video, because it discusses that topic as well: th-cam.com/video/A-bQFXWppoA/w-d-xo.html
hello, I'm a bit confused with : how to put the good price of a produit with a marge of 30%. At the end of your explanation I don't understand how many will be your product
It's interesting how such a simple design can go so far, isn't it? Great video btw! Very informative quality content as always. Love the editing as well :)
question to you, how do you know she actually made a single sale? LMAOOO Isn't it strange to you that they only showed a tiny portion of a screenshot for a few seconds on screen???
You're right, I really don't know...I'm good enough at editing myself so if I really wanted to I could probably fake a lot of similar content. However, I've seen quite a lot of her videos, and I just feel like I can trust her. What she says makes logical sense and she doesn't guarantee riches. Everyone else will just have to make up their minds whether to trust her or not. :)
I'm 100% sure that if she actually sold something, was a pretty low amount lol. You have so much competition, you really think someone is buying something like this?
Great video! Thank you for this! I started my shop about 6 weeks ago. I only have a few sales but I love what I’m doing and I’m in it for the long haul!
@@KingdomContentOfficial Don’t feel bad for others. It’ll just bring you down my friend. Instead think about how you believe you’ll succeed on a .20c listing when others are investing more time, money and effort than you. 😉
THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT video. Thank You so much. I've had an Etsy store that I haven't done much with but now I will. I will download your free ebook too. 😍
If you'd like a more detailed explanation about Etsy, I recommend watching my Etsy tutorial here, this video was a new store challenge video where I took Canva clip art and used that to create my products - but I do have a full step-by-step tutorial video here: th-cam.com/video/7ZlZFPBWC74/w-d-xo.html
Awesome informative video, as always! ❤ I'd like to know how many unique designs are in the new Etsy store that is bringing in the $3,995 per week? I watched the video all the way through, but I don't remember seeing it. It would be great to know because it would give us a better idea on how many products on average an Etsy shop would need in order to present enough variety. Thanks, Sarah!
You aren't obligated to offer returns for change of mind, but you are obligated to offer returns for faulty items. If an item arrives faulty, you just submit a damaged item report and the Printify print shop will send a new one to the customer for free 🌞 they don't have to return the item, they'll get to keep it and get a new one.
@@HeroOfZero-y9h I know plenty of people like you who think every opportunity is a scam. I've seen them suspiciously turn down wonderful deals and opportunities.
And now you made a video with over 1M views. Seriously good job! I was never going to start an Etsy store and I feel torn because I don't want to support fast fashion. The delema.
There is something that I find strange, is that you calculated the entire price of the T-shirt as money that belongs to you, and you did not just calculate your profit and deduct it from the advertising price, but thank you, great content.
I do understand from your perspective but the truth is though, from my personal experience, as I shared in this video, there is so much room to come in and carve out your own portion of the market even if a brand new store by filling a gap in the marketplace, which is exactly what the section of the video 2:00 is all about. There are plenty of ways to do that, this was just the technique I used. And the honest truth is that most new stores I see do not fill a gap in the market and they just fade into the background. Even taking the funny parrot t-shirts as an example - there were so few good designs. There is so much room in that niche for great products. Yet everyone is copying that 1 Fast Food t-shirt instead 😉
Hey Sarah, you aced it again with your new content. Amazing as always. Also can you please focus more on generic methodologies aswell, cuz Etsy might not be available in all of your viewers' countries so an alternate approach might give them a broader view to implement these strategies. Thanks alot for sharing such valuable content! ❤
Exactly. They keep making videos saying, "Just go to Etsy ..." But Etsy is not on-board friendly, depending on your country/region. They like many other portals restrict regions such as the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, etc from registering as if we are nobody. Very biased and stereotypical of them & frankly speaking, quite annoying.
Happy new year! Amazing video Sarah! I've got a couple questions: How many designs did you add before you got some succes? And how much time did you spend on your store up to that point vs now? And how many designs do you keep adding per week or month? Many thanks, I appreciate you so much!! 🙏
Happy New Year to you too! I wish you and your family a happy & prosperous 2024. I will be honest, I actually have no idea, I didn't really track it. It was truly something I just did in my spare time and I was pretty busy when I first launched it and took me a few weeks just to get my first 20 products up in it. I think I got my first sale around item 20 being added in. So it probably took 2-3 weeks? It is a snowball effect, that is why the Etsy 30-day experiments you see on TH-cam are, IMHO, not a good experiment to run. To run a true experiment I believe you need to do it over several months because of the way the algorithm works, it snowballs: th-cam.com/video/v3jE2qNt3I8/w-d-xo.html How much time I spend is super variable: it was anywhere from 2-20 hours/week chipping away at it depending on how much spare time I had and how much I got inspired to work on it, LOL! How many designs I add is also super variable. If you averaged it out, it is probably 1-3 designs a day, but I don't always upload daily, that is just what it would be if you averaged it out, if that makes sense 🌞
@@WholesaleTed Thank you so much for your detailed answer Sarah, I didn't expect that 🙏🌞. @@MariskavanBrederode You don't see it strange she bothered to make a video but can't even guess at the answer to your question..... She did give suggestions all over again though? WTF IMO I doubt she even did what she suggest beyond what was necessary to make the video!!!!!!
Printify is expensive and there is hardly any room for margin to make money. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but it sure is 1000% easier when you already have established an audience on your platform. Then you risk someone copying your own new product idea and make faster sells on their platform because they are much more established. Ugh. How does that help us newbies??
This is great content. Etsy stores do require more involvement though.. whenever people leave a bad review, or ask for a return, someone has to be there to leave a professional response.
When I try and use mockups from placeit I'm finding the print area dimensions don't match my mug at all. They all seem to be around 950x1129px on Placeit, whereas my mug dimensions are 2475 × 1155 px on Printify and that can't be changed. It seems way different! I can't change the printify dimensions, can the dimensions on placeit be changed somehow? I'm puzzled why they are so different, as both are for an 100oz mug.
thank you Sarah..lam from Turkey l was watching you before the earthquake..but now la ma back and have instaled a new printify etsy store thanks for that video
This is no way passive income. I bought a $2k course years ago, put 20+ hours in per week, made a respectable # of mug designs , did mockups, etc only made $250 the whole year. wAAAAy more work than a job. I was highest earner in fb group . most all my $ came from oct - jan.
Also do you have any help videos on setting pricing? I see many Etsy mugs are between £8-11, but my Printify costs for the mug total £7.19 (converted from $9.03) when including shipping. So there's no way I can list as low as many on Etsy, I'd need to list for just below £12 to make around a 40% margin. So is that an ok list price? And how do many Etsy sellers manage to sell mugs so cheap?! Thanks
Hello, Sarah! Thanks for the valuable content. I understand that Canva images are rendered at 96 DPI, and t-shirt images do best with 300DPI+; so how were you able to eventually get a DPI of 300 or above for upload to Printify? Is there something you did while processing your images after downloading from Canva? I'm wondering if Photopea helped with that.
7:49 is actually a dedicated section to saving images for print! When you increase the image size, when it is resized for the printing area, it will print in 300dpi. That is why Canva added in the 3.125x setting (it used to be 3x only, which meant it printed in 280dpi, but now it is the full 300dpi)
Wow great step by step video! New subscriber here! Eager to put your steps into action.Thank you so much for the useful information!! Quick question, how do you link a set of tshirts as one product listing e.g a women tshirt and a male tshirt sold as a set.
Hi Sarah, I have a question about using Canva for POD. If I have a Canva Pro account can I use any of the Pro elements and fonts as long as I combine the clip art with text or should we only use the "FREE" elements? I'm just wondering because I've seen some people saying you can't upload Canva elements to POD sites, but maybe that's only the case if we don't use the elements combined to make a unique design. Thanks for any info you may have on this. Thanks for another great and helpful video!!!
Great question. Canva have clarified you can use their pro elements as long as you do not sell them as is. You must do something like combine them with text to turn them into a new design. There was drama/rumors that falsely spread, earlier last year from people who said you couldn't do that, and so now unfortunately there are a bunch of wrong videos on TH-cam that were released during those rumors. Canva came out and released a statement saying they weren't true 🙏
Great video, thank you for that. I have a question. What happens with returns? Wrong size, damaged goods, etc. Do I need to handle it myself, or does Etsy or Printify take care of it? Thanks a lot.
Your instructions turn into misleading drivel later on in the video. When you point people to placeit, you are correct in saying photos it provides can be used for free. What you fail to let anyone know is that you must pay to download the photo once you've placed your design on it, either a 1-time fee, or they lock you into a subscription, of which you must pay for at least 1 month if you choose to download anything. in other words, going through this video requires you to create literally half a dozen different accounts, and sign up with subscriptions for at least 3 of them. Very disappointing to see you either purposefully (and maliciously) or just ignorantly provided this video without clarifying this fact.
Speaking of canva pro, you can set up a team of 5 ppl for $14.99/mo. Get 4 ppl you like and help split the cost for all of you. Each team member's work stays private unless shared with other team members
Sarah, let me ask you something if you don't mind. When you said you "quietly posted" about the new Etsy store with Canva clip art, did you post the link and/or name of your store? IF you did, then that would be a reason it's successful, simply due to the fact that you would have told over a million subscribers about it. If you did not post it, then that's great. By the way, $200.00 per week sounds good to some of us, but what other outlets besides Etsy do you find successful? Etsy is a no go for me.
Good question. The answer is NO! Absolutely NOT! And I absolutely understand why you ask that. I watched one video from a big influencer make a simple ebook as an experiment, released it, and then was amazed that people bought it. But it had his name as the author, and as he is a popular influencer, people will buy it just because it has his name on it. It was a valuable video but if we're going to be honest, to run a true experiment, you have to do so anonymously.
Thanks for replying! What about the other part, what channels do you recommend selling on besides Etsy since that is not an option for me. @@WholesaleTed
Only make money of us fools who believes in all of this , it's everywhere on TH-cam, you people are making money only from TH-cam from us.. that's the real truth
Easiest way to make cash is to play on people’s addictions - drugs, money. Once you can do that, such as creating youtube videos about making money, you’ll become rich without even trying what they tell you to try. Smart move tbh
the most important thing to do such "startup business" for anyone is to "advertise" yourself first so people know you exist before they can buy any products from you. if no one knows your existence, the only other option you can do is selling products that are cheapest than other competitors, meaning your profit is so little that may not be worth the hustle.
Does everyone here truly believe they make money doing this easy shit, or that they actually make money from all the TH-cam views from their clickbait videos? If they are making so much easy money on Etsy, why would they share the methods, thus increasing their competition??
Thank you for sharing this information... Question, so right now I am only using the free elements from Canva..not paying for anything yet.. I never use just one free element.. So if I combine at least 2 elements together ( these two elements would be art elements/graphics..not a text and art element) that is okay by Canva.. Example...polar bear and snow ?

How do I remove the background to make them in multiple different colors when I sell them Instead of making different background slides on Canva. I think you misunderstand this video. This video is not a step-by-step formula on how to copy me. If so, you would be right. But the video in discusses that absolute opposite. I shared my techniques & principles for coming up with unique ideas. It is very unlikely anyone would use that to come up with my exact ideas, because I used my own unique perspective/interests. There are so many hobbies, interests, topics & niches to create merch for. I'm not afraid of sharing my brainstorming ideas, because they are based on creativity, and creativity will give everyone a unique result 🌞
She's earning money by TH-cam as well, and it's not like she's saying "do exactly like this and this". She needs an audience, which are people that want to make money online, so of course she has to tell how to make money online with experience, what else would she be talking about when this is what she is doing and what her account is about? It's a win win situation for her, and instead of being negative why not get up and try yourself? Selling on Etsy can be difficult to start with but most certainly not impossible.
Why would someone not want to make extra money and feel connected to a community sharing valuable information. This isnt some secret information, obviously she's not going to share the secret sauce which is probably rooted in market research and business operations. It's just basic stuff for people to get started. It's a bet that people learning this aren't going to compete with her anyway because it takes a lot more than beginner information. and the money made from these videos would probably offset whatever increased competition it contributes to
I loved almost everything about this video, except for the suspected clickbait of saying “basic canva Clip art” but then using the pro version of Canva in the video. Isn’t completely honest, but I appreciate the rest of the video!
Hi Sarah, I am 100% vegan. I can’t imagine eating another sentient being. That’s just beyond comprehension to me, so even if I was to make a million dollars on Etsy, I would not promote a design like that. Nope, I’m not judging you…I’m just saying.
@@krishannam1346 Yes, I would not sell or make money off of anything that supports cruelty and exploitation of animals. There is not enough money on the planet to entice me to do so. That is my point. The vast majority of people are not aware of the life of industrial farm animals, or the meat, dairy, eggs and fish industries in general. It is absolutely horrendous and heart breaking.
@@moonyfruit Animals are deprived of all rights, and a voice. They are silent victims of an unimaginably cruel world. They suffer immensely, they are mistreated, abused, exploited then killed in a horrific way, unnecessarily. Fortunately for their future generations, there is a growing number of people who speak for them and are willing to work with and for them, so that humans may understand that what is being done to the animals is unconscionable, absolutely horrendous and perhaps over time this may change. Vegan is not a diet. It is far, far, far more than this. It is not about personal opinions. It is about rights, morals, ethics, justice, and as a bonus, personal health and the health of the planet.
I literally did exactly what you did on photopea and when I exported the image the texture isn't there. What happened. I did it 3 more times to make sure I was following the instructions and nothing. Please advise.
Thank you for your video. It was full of great advice and I'm excited to get started. I had one hick-up though. When I uploaded my design to printify after saving it with transparent background, it showed up on the t-shirt with a white background. Please help?!
A lot of the information was interesting, but I was most interested in your walkthrough for distressing images. Unfortunately, even using the exact same distressed image from Creative Fabrica that was shown in the video and following the step by step guide, the end result was...rather unsightly. On the final t-shirt at least. Is there anyway we can at some point get a more detailed walkthrough for that?
Thanks for all the ideas! Those Photopea tricks looks great but, when using that image in Fourthwall, for example, the image has a very high quality and I am not able to change it in Photopea to 11,000px without loosing any quality. Any tips for that? 🙏
Hi Sarah, I am just planning to open a shop on Etsy for the first time, but I am still confused about a few things. I am from the EU (Czechia), and my country is eligible to sell on Etsy, but I want to make something clear. QUESTIONs: I must set Czechia as the shop's country, but can I only use US Printify print providers to sell to US clients? And maybe set up an EU print provider for EU citizens? I guess I can, can't I? If I am correct, you're from NZ and also sell primarily in the US using US print providers, right?
Depending on the item, you can use a USA print shop for your USA customers AND an EU print shop for your EU customers. I discuss how in this video: th-cam.com/video/oeU7Yg05i90/w-d-xo.html
Print on Demand is very hard to make large profits. I have an etsy shop with almost 3000 POD sales. I'd be lucky if I made 30-40% of the actual profit. TO make 100K a year in profit, i'd probably have to do do 250K+ in etsy sales. Etsy takes a large cut, especially if its an offsite ad you got a sale from, then their extra fees, and the pod fees. To be competitive, you also have to usually add free shipping, which takes away even more from profits. I wish you luck though, but it will take a while to make it a full time income source.

how do you handle returns and issues with the products ?
**It’s good to mention that you’ll be paying for the customers order up front vs them paying for it. So it’s a good idea to have $ put back for your orders. You’ll get reimbursed through etsy but initially your bank account has to recover the funds to print their orders.
Everything has a cost to it from the orders to the subscriptions and it can be disheartening when you’re just starting out, low sales. Not to be discouraged though, just be aware of all the extra fees and the upfront costs most people forget to share when setting up store fronts.
Thanks for sharing this information. :D
Exactly

use manual order confirmation, accept the order when the the payment has gone through
That’s why I always have millions in reserve
I don’t necessarily think people are just lazy, but rather that they don’t have the money and resources to keep going with things like this. When everything has a subscription cost, product cost, requires advertising, a platform, etc. it’s hard to get noticed or make it anywhere.
That's business, though

You gotta spend money to make money. Lol
I've been watching you now for three years. I just want you to know that I appreciate all that you do and all the research and information that is obviously time consuming as well as actually producing the content itself. Just wanted to say thank you.
So does that mean you’re rich now?
Too much analysis causes paralysis.
That is how she makes money - from YT views, not from actual art. She just makes up sht and sell you hope,
It's True i have been making templates and I am surprised to see that I still have to make stuff with a free distressed picture
DID you do anything ? How did it go ?
Your comment about people just want to lazily copy whatever the most popular thing is, is where they mess up. Because they don't want to do the research into being unique or niche. Is 100% spot on.
Being unique is not always good, because you don't know if there would be any interest in that kind of product line.

But if you are not a large store and you come out with an original design, those same larger stores will copy your design and make more money than you will 😐
Pretty much
I honestly think the people who say 'etsy is over-saturated with POD' are the ones copying other's bestsellers and hitting those high-comp niches like nursing and dog parents. I'm researching my own store and I've found a honeypot of a niche; huge demand, low supply. Better yet I understand the customer bc I'm one of them, but every time I research an idea i find a niche that's just not being supplied. Developing the ability to have ideas and research them is 90% of a shop's success.
Have you come across the Blue Ocean book, because what your describing is finding a blue ocean 👍👍
YAAAAS! Totally agree with you. What I’m into and share online is not on Etsy and it’s on demand for my niche. So it’s possible!
Is there a reliable way to ascertain or quantify demand?
He sounds a little creepy I think.
Must be a bot😂
So inspiring! How do you handle returns from customers? What is the proportion of costs in relation to turnover? 🤔
Excited for your success with this! It seems like being able to advertise the store using a video on your 1M+ subscriber channel was a huge marketing benefit and I wonder if someone could successfully start a similar store without that.
That’s what I’m wondering too.
That's what you call a TH-camr in business.
No.
Nah, if she can do it, anyone can 🥴🥴
I assumed she is showing us the profit she made prior to sharing it on her youtube channel. Did you see ads for it in other videos prior to her posting this video?

Amazing how you can find something you were not looking for but absolutely needed.
Authentic? More like a good con person. Shameful
Also, not US$
@@gigiatlas2364it specifically says USD in the screenshots though, did I miss something?
Besides, I don’t think the currency matters too much here. Unless it was in Yen or something there 2000 would be worthless.
Well said..Wish I saw it before leaving my own comment.
VAT is way lower in the US, but the amount would vary depending on where you order the merch from.

You aren't obligated to offer returns for change of mind, but you are obligated to offer returns for faulty items. Hi Sarah, you make this stuff seem so easy. But you and I know it's tough terrain, trying to sell on Etsy. The competition is insane!

I've got a couple questions:
How many designs did you add before you got some succes?
To run a true experiment I believe you need to do it over several months because of the way the algorithm works, it snowballs: th-cam.com/video/v3jE2qNt3I8/w-d-xo.html
How much time I spend is super variable: it was anywhere from 2-20 hours/week chipping away at it depending on how much spare time I had and how much I got inspired to work on it, LOL!
This is super helpful detailed breakdown. I think it shows how hard you grind when you’re giving an idea a go. Inspiring.
Does Printify ship the product direct to customer? Which means I don’t get to see the finished product?
Printify is expensive and there is hardly any room for margin to make money. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but it sure is 1000% easier when you already have established an audience on your platform. Then you risk someone copying your own new product idea and make faster sells on their platform because they are much more established. Ugh. How does that help us newbies??
You need to watermark your designs. Make a disclaimer that the watermark will be removed upon printing
This is great content. Etsy stores do require more involvement though.. whenever people leave a bad review, or ask for a return, someone has to be there to leave a professional response.
Happy New Year Sara ❤ Hello from past darling❤
🎉 Happy New Year! We're well into 2024 down here, LOL!
Your content is gold, I can't thank you enough.❤
What have you done with this gold content so far?
thank you Sarah..lam from Turkey l was watching you before the earthquake..but now la ma back and have instaled a new printify etsy store thanks for that video
Nasıl gidiyor
This is no way passive income. I bought a $2k course years ago, put 20+ hours in per week, made a respectable # of mug designs , did mockups, etc only made $250 the whole year. wAAAAy more work than a job. I was highest earner in fb group . most all my $ came from oct - jan.
Did you try putting the design on a T-shirt?
They are (she is ?) snake charmers
@@WholesaleTed Wow! 😀 This is so useful info. I use Canva Pro and didn't know this. So happy I asked!
Cheers, and Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for that clarification. I LOVE using Canva, and that is very good to know ☺
I can provide canva pro subscription in just $5 per month and $20 per year
Great video, thank you for that. I have a question. What happens with returns? Wrong size, damaged goods, etc. Do I need to handle it myself, or does Etsy or Printify take care of it? Thanks a lot.
I have seen people who sell shirts on Etsy not allowing returns. They might just offer partial or full refunds.
Zazzle?
This is awesome! I really thought it was a saturated market as well, but this makes me want to try it! Thanks for the very clear instructions!
Only make money of us fools who believes in all of this , it's everywhere on TH-cam, you people are making money only from TH-cam from us.. that's the real truth
I don’t know what it is with your accent and the way you talk…it’s just ASMR to me and I want to keep watching
Don't bother, make videos about making money instead. Put lies in the title and thumbnail and you're golden.
Easiest way to make cash is to play on people’s addictions - drugs, money. Once you can do that, such as creating youtube videos about making money, you’ll become rich without even trying what they tell you to try. Smart move tbh
Yep my alarm bells are ringing. Not authentic. But good ideas.
the most important thing to do such "startup business" for anyone is to "advertise" yourself first so people know you exist before they can buy any products from you. if no one knows your existence, the only other option you can do is selling products that are cheapest than other competitors, meaning your profit is so little that may not be worth the hustle.
Does everyone here truly believe they make money doing this easy shit, or that they actually make money from all the TH-cam views from their clickbait videos? If they are making so much easy money on Etsy, why would they share the methods, thus increasing their competition??
Exactly, because its all BS
Also... The prints are very bad, i tested few of these Print on Demand companies and the prints wash out quickly. Very bad quality.
Thank you for sharing this information...
Question, so right now I am only using the free elements from Canva..not paying for anything yet..
I never use just one free element..
So if I combine at least 2 elements together ( these two elements would be art elements/graphics..not a text and art element) that is okay by Canva..
Example...polar bear and snow
?
The complete lack of shame is what really gets me. Taking the talent of someone else to make lazy money
Hi I'm Adridge, I'm an musician. And most recently became more zealous about my dreams, and there is this vocal coach I've been following and watching his tutorials... It helps to an extent but I'm afraid I'll never be content not unless I get one on one mentorship from him. Which brings to the main reason why I'm reach out. See i'm financial inept, and currently very unemployment. Which dramatical coursing my long dreamt dream to be far fetched and all... Not to mention I'm in Zimbabwe of all places and the man that I need mentorship from is in USA
You're making money by fooling others with fake screenshots & earning much more money by affiliate links in the description.
Hi, I have a question about making my shirts with Canva then selling them on websites like Printify or Shopify. How do I remove the background to make them in multiple different colors when I sell them Instead of making different background slides on Canva.
I am happy I discovered your channel and I just want to know how to do it correctly to make sales like you do.
If you made that much money passively, you wouldn't be sharing the info free of charge to your potential competitions. I don't believe you.
It's a bet that people learning this aren't going to compete with her anyway because it takes a lot more than beginner information. and the money made from these videos would probably offset whatever increased competition it contributes to
OK, SadSackDon, just stay in your little black hole. Believe what you want and I'm sure it will come true for you. 😊
no you didn't
I loved almost everything about this video, except for the suspected clickbait of saying “basic canva Clip art” but then using the pro version of Canva in the video. Isn’t completely honest, but I appreciate the rest of the video!
Hi Sarah,
I am 100% vegan. I can’t imagine eating another sentient being. That’s just beyond comprehension to me, so even if I was to make a million dollars on Etsy, I would not promote a design like that. Nope, I’m not judging you…I’m just saying.
"I'm not judging you..."
So what's your point? That YOU wouldn't sell that Fast Food design? Good to know.
@@krishannam1346
Yes, I would not sell or make money off of anything that supports cruelty and exploitation of animals. There is not enough money on the planet to entice me to do so. That is my point. The vast majority of people are not aware of the life of industrial farm animals, or the meat, dairy, eggs and fish industries in general. It is absolutely horrendous and heart breaking.
Being vegan is fine. Waving around a holier-than-thou attitude over it, isn't.
@@moonyfruit
Animals are deprived of all rights, and a voice.
I am sorry but you have to be doing something wrong, because I literally have been using this method the past week as usual and it is working fine!
Thank you for your video. It was full of great advice and I'm excited to get started. I had one hick-up though. When I uploaded my design to printify after saving it with transparent background, it showed up on the t-shirt with a white background. Please help?!
Etsy is saturated? I started my store 2 weeks ago and have 22 sales already!
I want to ask about how does the items you make get delivered ?
And thanks for the good tutorial
Thanks for all the ideas!
Those Photopea tricks looks great but, when using that image in Fourthwall, for example, the image has a very high quality and I am not able to change it in Photopea to 11,000px without loosing any quality. Any tips for that? 🙏
Hi Sarah, I am just planning to open a shop on Etsy for the first time, but I am still confused about a few things. I am from the EU (Czechia), and my country is eligible to sell on Etsy, but I want to make something clear.
QUESTIONs:
I must set Czechia as the shop's country, but can I only use US Printify print providers to sell to US clients?
