I love that Ed mentions how the blue car was an accident every single time it's in a video like an alcoholic blue collar Dad who only wanted two kids but ended up with 3 😂
I recently made a similar happy mistake buying a CLK63 Black Series. Saw the car on BaT, thought the bid was way too low, threw in one bid thinking surely I'll be outbid or the reserve won't be met, then won the auction. Can't say I'm too disappointed, the car is phenomenal. That car is the epitome of "if you know, you know." No one bothers me at the gas pump, but at Caffeine & Octane you're instantly a celebrity.
Enjoy it, don’t just rub it with a diaper in the garage. My father bought one new and never really drove it. I inherited the car in 2012 and take it out on the weekends plus track it when I can. I recommend the same to you. You only live once the hell with resell value.
@@cleansweepbayarea I've been driving it quite frequently, already have added 2,500 miles since November. It's way too good of a car to leave it sitting!
Yes, Ed for the love of God stop making these videos. I love the videos, but I love the car more and it’s becoming more difficult for me to attain. So please stop.
Some would say he's a lucky man, but this dude created businesses and went for it. Now he's reaping the rewards. Respect. I will one day have a collection that others will aspire to as well.
I spoke to Ed a few years back about an LP640 manual. For my experience, he's one of the most informed experts on the LP640's. Ultimately, I ended up buying a factory Ferrari 599 manual. Thanks Ed - Paul K.
I don’t know why but this color just makes me happy. I would take an LP 640 in any color. There’s always wrap right? But something about this color is just soothing. It’s beautiful.
@@revolutioncustoms6894those are millionaire/billionaires they might know some power numbers of that but Ed knows the story’s and origins of these cars and appreciates them. To those guys it’s just another car they could replace any day of the week.
The other big push for automatic shifted gearboxes (regardless if it's an automated manual, dual-clutch, or torque converter) was 2 fold - it makes the cars more 'reliable', sadly a lot of people who buy manuals don't know how to drive them - it cuts down on warranty and maintenance claims. The other side is that it makes working around emissions standards much easier, the tests are very specific and laid out, so you can program a gearbox around them - some carmakers took that too far and got caught doing it, but there is reason why the PDK in a P-car is in 7th gear at 40-50mph if you are in traffic.
An automated manual that is almost never more reliable than a standard manual. You have hydraulic systems doing the shifting and a lot more parts that can fail, versus a traditional manual. Not to mention, in the 2000s, the systems doing the shifting often rode the clutch much more than any human would, wearing your clutch down faster. In the 2000s e-gear and f1 transmissions were solely marketed as cutting edge tech, and faster shifting; it was never for reliability like you’re saying. I say this having owned a Gallardo.
I love the color Ed, the Murcielagois a wonderful car anyway, but that color looka so good on it. Mat armstrongs shade of green looks good, dont think its a 640 but still its sounds good and looks good too. The noise on start up, only car that beats that for me is the Porsche Carrera GT sorry but i prefer that, dont hate me. Both of these cars have been iconic since I was a child. Can't wait for more content from you Ed, looking forward to a new series of Car-Trek if you manage to gwt Tyler and Freddy into gear 😅
Ed…. Saying the Murci is more rare than an F1 is a STRETCH. There’s 106 F1 examples across ALL trims. How many Murcis are there across all trims? Not just LPs…
Would never think of a Diablo as "garrish". If anything, I'd say the Aventador is garrish. Diablo is a absolutely classic lamborghini design. Even more so than the Murcielago. The Diablo is elegant yet alien.
Here's the crazy thing about Vik Keuylian. He had all his charges dismissed/dropped and his conviction EXONERATED. His attorney found out Volkswagen Credit *knew* about all the unpaid loans but continued to not go after him because they thought it would make the Lamborghini brand look bad since he was selling so many of them. His entire legal saga came to a close on June 2, 2014 when the final case was dismissed.
Hey Ed. Weird question, you think you could find whatever happened to Bam Margeras 2004 Gallardo? I was doing some research and saw it was for sale a couple of years ago but couldn't find if it sold. The car is beat to hell but it was very iconic famous car and I hope it's not lost forever 😂
I saw pics of it rather recently in one of the Gallardo Facebook groups. I believe it did end up selling and I think the current owner was “restoring” it to some degree
I am an unabashed cheerleader for the Paganis. take your pick they are all incredible. And maybe one day I will get the chance to actually drive one!!!!
I love the video, love the passion for the LP, but I cant help but think and see that Ed here is constructing his argument of the LP vs the F1. The only issue in the argument is the value of these cars. Whoever can afford 3x of either, in their right mind should not care about the miles they put on them, but we live in a matrix. I love the Murcielago line in general, the LP being awesome, anything manual V12 is basically insta win. BUT, there are a grand total of ZERO ways and LP would persuade me to think it is objectively or subjectively better than an F1. I simply cannot see it, I also personally love the raspiness of the BMW V12 and the godlike intake noise over the glorious banshee V12 of the LP. Price is the only limiting factor, one car is at minimum 20x the other, silly.
Hey Guys, TT here! I’m live right now telling you exclusively that next great car. It’s practical, stylish, and economical. But don’t let that fool you as it’s nimble, small, and easy to work. This hot import knows no bounds! So get fingered sesrching because the 2012 Corolla is the next great car to appreciate in value. Spread the word! 😅
Underappreciated? This is where Hoovie is. Callaway. Nothing post 2010 because they just have so much not fixable to go bad. Mercedes big muscle N/A powered cars will become what people want. Will be only things able to be kept on a road and give an enthusiast driving experience.
I own one of probably three golden NB Miatas with the 1.9 litre engine in my part of Germany. Compare that to the 106 McLaren F1 built in total and tell me, which is the rare one.
The Murcielago is the last Lamborghini when you think about it. Yes, the Aventador is a Lamborghini but the look, feel and era of the Murcielago is the best of Lamborghini.
You can just buy a 2003 e-gear for 150k and a conversion kit for 90k, watch DDE the guy Damon is probably the biggest lambo/ #supercar fanatic on the planet.
People don't want to know which car is best for them. People want financial advice so that when things go wrong, they can blame someone else! Here is some financial advice: Cars are not investments! Even if for some reason they increase in value, they are definitely NOT investments! And if you think differently you are wrong and don't even know what an investment is. For a car to become an investment it has to be basically art, 1 of 1 or absurdly rare. And even then, it's still mostly speculation. If you like it and have the money to burn, go for it! If you are trying to build wealth, this is definitely not the way! And no, your 1 of 10.000 Porsche is not an investment just because the market is crazy for a few years now.
I think the F86 X6 M is such bang for your buck, Got one in the garage with 63k miles (FBO) and it has been a true bliss to drive every single day. Ultimate sleeper, AWD, plus a grocery getter, what more can you ask for ? Under-appreciated and on the sidelines imo.
Ed’s monologues in 1 take are unreal

My favourite car is a gated lp640 because of its sound, power, speed and the rawness. It is the perfect car.
I respect Ed for admitting it was a mistake to buy it in that busted auction.

Find a car you love and drive it is great advice - so I did just that, e.g., my AZ-1 MazdaSpeed! A fraction the price and all the fun.
That blue is electric! 💙
Brilliant brilliant narration, execution car information and visuals.
Having put close to 80k miles on my Z4M Roadster i couldnt agree more. Its great to see these things out on the road being used.
Z4m is a fun car! I had an m coupe for a few years and really miss it! Hope you’re enjoying yours 🙏
The IS F is to me as the Merci is to Ed. Incredible slept on, much rarer than any of its competitors and a phenomenal driver.
Heard you are going to the "dirty" side of driving. Wrecker games in Utah! Can't wait to see you off road.
C7 ZR1 Manual transmission, high aero kit...... Hands down future legend
That is my absolute favorite color on a car, that metallic blue is goddamn beautiful.
That Murci is so beautiful in blue! My favorite Murci
Hard for me to decide. I would say the Diablo SV, VT 6.0 and Murcie LP640 are pinnacle Lambos in terms of design
I have a 2008 Murci, a 1994 SE 30, a 2012 Aventador and a 2015 Huracan.
Murci is the best sound because of the Gioto Bizarrini engine😂
Love the Monterey Blue. Easily the best Murcie... with the Verde Ithaca only slightly behind
Doug is trying to tank F1 values 😂
What do you think is the greatest car ever made?
Lamborghini Murcielago. The LP 650 Roadster is my top choice. Those are unicorns. I've only seen one at Manhattan Motorcars when it was brand new.
1973 super duty trans am
Volvo 240
There isn't an easy answer.🤔
Original RUF Yellow Bird
Since you have the Monterey car, is the verde car going to have the engine out service?
thats a beautiful line up. im glad you drive your cars.
I just got a 2000 bmw 5 wagon. Manual 1/740. You had a video on them. Gotta post it
Spotted Ed intown on 85 crawling through Atlanta traffic in this car with the rest of us. It's hard to enjoy a manual transmission in the ATL.
The montrey blue Murcielago looks and sounds insane
I like the earlier CTS-V's, 06-08. As a middle class dude, that is the car I'd love to daily.
