Beautiful car and obviously sounds good, but I think the LFA really does win in the sound department. Nothing but respect, Ed. Enjoyed this kind of vid, keep them coming!!
Very enjoyable video thank you. I get exactly why you love the gated LP640, as I own one myself for the last 7 years. I am in Ireland, and you know manual cars are rare in the US, here even more so. My car is one of just 6 RHD gated LP640's made, and being an 09 I believe the last RHD gated car to leave the factory. I love it, wonderful old school feel, epic presence, aggressive yet elegant to look at, reliable, and what an engine, the noise and the way the power delivery builds. A gem in the history of Lamborghini. Love your videos and storytelling. Thank you so much for the enjoyment. btw Ed, if you were to fit an aftermarket exhaust, what would you recommend?
Thanks Ed I've never had a car After watching lots of VINwiki I finally got my license. Now because of you and Tavarish aaand Hoovie I want to get a Lambo
I definitely agree you should position yourself to be able to wholly enjoy a car whatever it takes to do that. Put miles on it, enjoy it and love it even more.
My car love is the MB S65 AMG. I fell in love with with the MB in 1987 when my favorite rapper talked about the 560SEL. And ever since then I have read everything I could get my hands on about her. I had a chance to test drive a 1999 S600. She was rough and needed a lot of TLC. But pulling up to the lights and the V12 badging on the side commanded respect.
Considering this is the car you want to keep (and you should!), have you ever thought about removing your seat and fitting a thinner carbon seat? I think behind the seats there are some easily removable, pointless, storage compartments in the murci, and custom runners could make use for of that extra space. I think the tunnel is a bit close on the Murci so maybe a custom seat has to be done. Check out the Tillett B5, no high sides like on other carbon seats but sit very low and thin back. Very comfy, too (even if it doesn't look like it). On my last car I had different runners that sat maybe half an inch lower and went an inch further back, and I went from barely able to close the door (hit my knee) to having a crazy amount of space (to the point that I've done several 1000+ mile road trips in a single day, comfortably).
Watching someone enjoy a car they actually love is so wholesome. This is what its all about, I don't care if it's a Honda civic or a Lambo, if it makes you happy just get in it and enjoy it, thats what they are for.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the 2005-6 Ford GT. For me, that is THE car. I’ve had the pleasure of spending the last few years behind the wheel of one and it’s just glorious! The looks, the sound, the RAWness, it’s the whole package for me. In that sense, it seems as though it’d be similar to a Murci.
Hit the nail right on the head with the Murcielago's V12. Lamborghini's sound department really did an amazing job with that howling exhaust. I prefer the SV variant with it's almost cyborg look... like the picture on the left suggests. But honestly one thing I've grown to dislike about these cars is the AWD system. I've seen a video of Mondi's RWD converted LP640 and ever since then I believe the only mod I'd do to a Murcielago SV is make it RWD. Even though I don't like modded cars.
