People can have a great voice as a default, and even great ears, but maybe just lack control, or great everything with their voice but be tone deaf or just partially deaf etc. Some of it can be worked on and improved as a skill to a degree, but you’re always a bit limited by what you were born with.

Back in high school I took part of the play in theatre class when I improvise the lines in my mind which I thought it'd work and everyone didn't understand what I was trying to do so I gave up the role to someone else and bury myself. I want to rip that memory off of my mind and to never exist but it just keeps coming back like some trauma. I mean it's not like in karaoke. But damn I could feel it. And I keep hating myself acting so stupid.

I remember singing in front of 1000+ people at my school. It was our school band debut and I was the rythm guitarist. The singer shoved the mic in my face and I had to sing it if not it would be awkward on stage and as you'd expected, I embarassed myself. My voice cracked at the last bit. But, the crowd was supportive and my friends made fun of me of course but not in a bad way. It was a bittersweet memory.
There were no claps because they were probably all pretending not to have listened. May or may not be first hand experience... But heck, Ame's karaoke streams are easily my favorite karaoke streams by far. This ain't about singing on key, it's all about screaming your heart out!

I started doing karaoke on my own in my early twenties. At first I was singing songs out of my range. Over the years I've greatly improved. On top of that, it helped ease out of being an introvert and actually made me more outgoing. People can be harsh, but don't let that stop you from doing what you like.

Karaoke is a thing youre supose to do with a small and close friend group. One of my fondest memories is a karaoke day with 4 friends from middleschool (Ofcourse if youre all piss head drunk it might be different)
It saddens me to hear kronii experienced that. I would not desire that to anyone and I generally I'm honest with my feelings so when someone sings badly I will tell it but I won't stand there in complete silence, I'll clap even if it's the worst performance ever. It's a matter of respect. In other contexts you can screw around a bit, but even then You have to be careful not to make people feel isolated or humiliated for no logical reason other than make them feel even worse. Kronii can be sure we won't let her down.

What she said about nobody clapping is something I have experienced several times, and it hurts a lot, because to begin with I didn’t want to play guitar for them, because I know no one likes what I like to play, so the only way I play publicly is when I’m getting paid, and I’m the gigs I play and get paid I don’t really play what I like, and it’s kind of disappointing that I’ve been practicing guitar for four years to get as good as I can, but no one really cares, they just want me to play shit that any intermediate guitar player can, but I’m still practicing to get better and if I’m lucky enough make music my job

It saddens me to hear kronii experienced that. I would not desire that to anyone and I generally I'm honest with my feelings so when someone sings badly I will tell it but I won't stand there in complete silence, I'll clap even if it's the worst performance ever. It's a matter of respect. In other contexts you can screw around a bit, but even then You have to be careful not to make people feel isolated or humiliated for no logical reason other than make them feel even worse. Kronii can be sure we won't let her down.
