There's nothing wrong with sugars as long as they don't make up too large of a portion of your daily nutrient intake. If the sugars don't contribute to excessive caloric intake nor the lack of other nutrients, they're fine. For active people, sugars are pretty mandatory even to keep up performance. Good luck being really physically active when all you eat are a bunch of protein and fats. Keto does not feel good for most people, and doesn't help with high intensity activity. And saturated fats play an important role in various hormone productions, like testosterone. So again, you don't want to go around avoiding saturated fats. Or any fats, outside of those trans fats. Stick to a balanced diet where you deny yourself nothing, and adjust it depending on your goals. I usually do "official" weigh ins on Tuesday when I get a B12 shot and drink less water on Sunday and Monday and between Sunday and Tuesday I usually drop 2lbs.

That doesn't mean that it's unhealthy, most things are healthy in moderation and protein/calories are an important part of your diet.

Calories don't mean much if you don't know how they are digested. Some foods feed you directly. But other foods feed you gut biome, so you don't get any of those calories, but you get micronutrients from your gut biome. This is why processed food is worse - it spikes your blood sugar and doesn't feed your gut biome friends.
