Allyn, I’ve been watching your channel for a few years and wanted to comment on how grateful I am that you’re sharing your passion and knowledge with the world. Great stuff here, thanks a million!
Thank you for your channel. Three years ago I moved into my first house. My wife told me it’s time to purchase a lawn mower. I have never cared or even thought about lawn care at that time. I bought the mower bright it home and cut my grass; needless to say it did not go well. I slammed the deck down and well scalped the lawn. Wondering what just happened I went to TH-cam and searched how to mow a lawn. I found your channel and the rest is history. I am now a devoted “lawn care nut”. Thank you for your content and your store.
i hate to admit it, but ive been doing that on purpose the past few years because i hate mowing or lawn care in general. this year i decided ill actually try to do something different. will see how it goes. my front yard looks like a dirt field, but my back yard looks pretty green right now.
I recently used Scott's Ultra Feed, with a NPK of 40-0-5, can already tell the difference! Thanks LCN! your videos helped me a lot as a new home owner! Now my lawn is the envy of the neighborhood!
Hi Allyn. I’ve been following your program for a 1 1/2 years now and this spring my lawn is the BEST EVER. Better than the so-called professionals around here (Oceanside, LI NY). I take walks with my dog all over the neighborhood and there is only one guy whose grass comes close to mine. I’ve suggested you to my friends.and brother who lives upstate. He saw my lawn a week ago and asked “Pat, do you have sod?” He was shocked that it was all due to your program. Thank you!!!!!
I still go back to re-watch You!! Allyn....Im so glad you keep alot of the older stuff on here for reference purposes, changes etc. Oh And to See how much the % of "N" in LCN has INCREASED over the years!!! TY again ----- My Coastal VA Cool Season lawn of TTTF / KGB Loves being mowed 10 out of 12 months lol... and has not went to sleep in 4 yrs!!!!!! Yard Mastery / Greene County SCREAMS GREEN here!! 365 days a year!!!
I have listened to your tactics. I have applied them. Now I get compliments from my neighbors. They love the lawn. It's thick, it's dark, and it is weedless. It took about two years for it to turn from a jungle to the golf course. Thank you very much.
Special request (being entirely sarcastic): I really need you, Ryan, and Connor to put out daily videos right now. I broke my foot a week ago and now am out of the lawn care business for a while. I even had to teach the wife how to now yesterday (she did great btw). I need these videos now more than ever!
If you get bored give my vids a try brother! I'm low time, but might help pass your time. Sorry your down and out. Hope you recover soon Carl. God Bless.
That domination line is off the charts ! Great video. I put down Flagship a week ago. Absolutely LOVE it !! Lawn thickened up and went deep green. Thanks Allyn !
You’ve brainwashed me. I now mow the lawn twice a week, and look forward to it. Flagship is making my lawn great. Waiting for my bag of The Anderson’s, which is arriving Tuesday !
You are my favorite person to watch for lawns. I have come a long way and learned so much watching a variety of channels. Shout out to Pete/GCI...etc. My coworker got me into grass one day and then I started watching your videos. He looks like you a little by the way.
I started off with the Stress Blend. About a week ago I spread some Flagship. Wow!!! I got a beautiful green lawn. I already have two neighbors asking of what my secret is. 😀
I started late the lawn but still doing it the maintenance and watering. Started with 3 in 1 scotts for Southern lawns and with follow up with scotts ultra green in 8 weeks Jun 18 to be exact. Then the fall I will start on my back yard to reseed it can't wait.
You are are legend - I’m an old man running a lawn & garden care business servicing my local community - you definitely deliver real everyday solutions for novices like me to ensure I service my clients the best I can & giving them the best outcome I can possibly do - Thank you - love your work 🙏 - coming to you from Brisbane Australia.
Very Nice Video my friend, I'm a Lawn Care enthusiast my self, but have learned a few tips I did not know. KEEP up the great work We all Appreciated the time you take to help others, whom really care about there lawns.
I’m in New Jersey and I got to say your videos are amazing I am learning so much from watching all your videos and this week I’m going to order some of your fertilizer products keep up the great work my friend and for sharing all this great knowledge
I had my soil tested for the very first time this year and I was low on Nitrogen, a touch high on the phosphorus, and slightly low on the potash. The PH was fine. The test recommended the very same fertilizer you have linked. The green up has been amazing.
WOW! I AM SO HONEST THIS MUSIC SOUNDS SOO WONDERFUL. I LOVE MUSIC BUT THIS MAKES YOU THINK OF FAMILY GATHERING WHERE EVERYONES LAUGHING, LOVING ONE ANOTHER. JOY AND PEACEFUL GATHERING.
I am from UK. Just subscribed. So well explained. I have just overseeded. I never knew about the 3 numbers. I have put on pre seeder 6-9-6 to help with the seed which is all All American one. It is germinating slowly here. Thanks Lawn care nut, very entertaining video
I'm dominating my neighbor[hood] right now... I've been on Lesco 24-0-11 along with some other products. I'm switching to YM Flagship; my order should be here any day now. I can't wait to 🗣📢 THROW ER' DOWN!!! 🤣 Thanks for your contributions to the lawn community. 👍😎👍
Flagship April 9th. Double Dark April 24th. Flagship again May 8th. I’m going hard this year. New Sunniland/Yard Mastery fert is great! Definitely smells like success too!
The fact that you welcome people to use products other than yours is admirable. But SERIOUSLY.... I switched from 2 years of Milo use to Flagship this Spring and I am SOLD. This stuff is magic dried unicorn pee in a bag. My neighbors haven't figured out what hit 'em yet!
Deep, lush St Aug is kicking A$$ up here in Palm Harbor. Everything you've ever suggested or sold has been successful and a winner. Best of luck with your new business!
Put down my Flagship this morning in Northeast Ohio. It spread really well (better than expected) and we're gonna get nice rain the next two days... Ready for takeoff!
I am happy I found your channel. I just moved from NY to Texas. big climate change. I am not even sure what kind of grass we have but I am guessing a mixture of Bermuda and something else. The lawn here is OK, but I am hoping to knock the neighbors out and have the best lawn in the neighborhood
This is the same for rice and cannabis for any interested. The time frames of the warm grasses coincide also. Except the dormancy is the harvesting for cannabis or the seeding for rice. Likely other plants but I'm not a pro. Just from experience.
Just bought some Flagship, been using Scott's Lawn food and 3n1 for about a year now and its been great, but after the pics I saw of flagship I gotta try it! Gonna help my neighbor who's yard has seen better days as I dont need anywhere near 15,000 Sq.Ft . I'm in Lakeland and went to the Freedom 500 and saw the grass there, looks great and thanks for the video!
Just added another app of Milorganite here. My lawn is dominating!!! Thank you again Allyn for the continued and valuable information that you share. My wife even commented a few days ago on how darn good the lawn looks. You da Man!
I planted 2500 st aug palmetto plugs on my property in Denver, NC 2 weeks ago. Threw down prodiamine 3 days after plug, RGS after first week, milorganite (Heavy) yesterday and the plugs look great. Should get rain tonight. Probably spot spray atrazine this week. Thanks LCN for your content! You have been with me all the way 😎
Yep, live in central Indiana and my lawn has never looked better. It's really mid to late June through August that it's a battle to keep it going. May and October, the best months. I actually use a 15-0-15 liquid leading into the summer along with humic and micro/iron.
Dude....You nailed it! I love this time of year right now! I am enjoying how nice my lawn looks....Come August...it sucks...But It's easy to bring it back to super pretty for the fall. Thanks for this video.
Just started a lawn care business and have been working on my lawn transformations! I have learned a lot from your videos! Thanks for being out here I actually bought some of your fertilizers and have your stickers now!
Awesome content Allyn. Especially appreciate the mention of Bermuda grass. Granted "slow" was used in conjunction with it but no love lost. 😎 Great tips on timing based on this time of year.
First mow under the belt yesterday! Love your channel, your app, and I am ordering soil testing kits this week. I want to know more! Love your willingness to show us the nerdy side of this stuff. My lawn is becoming my new obsession and love! LETS GO!!!!
Just in time today, mowed then the rain drops started. Good thing, I've been busy and hadn't mowed in 5 days! My Fescue is hit'n on it's second high Nitrogen feed. First was March 21st and again on April 21st. Hoping for a cool May 21st for it's final high Nitrogen feed for the Spring, but here in St. Louis you never know. Could be over 90 degrees or a cool 70 degrees. I'll be ready with your Flagship or the Anderson's, whatever Mother Nature throws my way. Funny, the color green was never my favorite color, until I started buying your Ferts Allyn, LOL! Thanks for all your great advise. It's made all the effort and money I put into sodding my front yard well worth it. *Mark*
Can you do a video on how to fill in resistant areas that won’t grow? I’ve been trying for years to get certain areas to fill in and they just don’t grow!
Here in Charlotte NC Bermuda is still waking up in my neighborhood. We just had frost 2 weeks ago and 2 weeks before that. So with the temperature fluctuation I think it's confusing this Tiftuf Bermuda. But its coming.
Was late with my Prodiamine but I did a double Dip. Forgive these words but I layed down a 29-0-4 "WEED & FEED" over my 0-0-7 Prodiamine. I remember you saying getting Prodiamine down late is better than never.
Hiya Al!... Wow 🤩 brother!!...that St Aug just keeps on smokin..flowers lookin sweet...and the beach at sunset 🌅 keeps burnin it down!!!! Thank you so much!☮️👏👏👏👍👑🌴🐠
LCN I need you help. I live in Los Angeles and have St. Augustine grass. I can't find Milorganite anywhere her in LA anymore. What can I use instead? My lawn is not looking good. She looks dormant but should be green by now.
I’m getting your stress blend for my summer time feedings. I live in upstate New York but we have consistent upper 80’s low 90’s. I think it’s going to be a good blend for my situation.
It's hard ti imagine that a soil test has very much importance; because I am hearing - over and over again - that ALL lawns need nitrogen. So, throw down the "N"! I know my half-acre needs a lot of TLC (I have "grasses" that have probably not been identified yet 🙂. While I don't dispute the esthetic of a "super green lawn," I am in a "five year plan" of moving toward a "Better Homes and Gardens" lawn. Put another way, my yard needs the basics (healthy soil). But, I will throw down Flagship in the spring (December as I write this). Love these LCN vids.
Good info here. Another point to keep in mind relates to chlorophyll in plants and "greening". The center of the chlorophyll molecule is Magnesium. Without it, no chlorophyll. As I once heard... no tickey, no laundry.
Yo from bottom of the world in New zealand, we are mid fall and same situation all warm season kikuyu is beautiful green and all the cool season fescue is striping and dark green again after fall rains
I am a total newbie. I was wondering all the products you use safe around pets? I have dogs and want all my yards looking tip top. Thanks for all you do. Means a lot how you break everything down and make every thing so easy to understand.
Middle of June here in Minnesota and temps have been mid 90's+ for two weeks. I couldn't have seen this video at a better time as Milo is getting harder to find and "Menards Natural" (similar to Milo) is no longer manufactured. Menards has another brand of natural but its $13 a bag/2500 square feet (rip-off when compared). I just ordered the "Stressed blend" for summer through your link and will likely continue to order the other types (Flagship and Freedom) for the appropriate season!
Why does P (I assume it is for Phosphorus?) has such a prominent place in the middle of NPK? What does it do? Why is it often zero? Thank you for the great videos.
What I remembered about the N-P-K combination is 'Up, Down, All-Round'. Where 'Up' is N (Nitrogen), which does primarily help with color. You are correct on 'P' being Phosphorus, that is the 'Down' - or, more precisely, what takes places underneath the soil; specifically: stronger root structure. So, the higher the 'P', the better it will support root structure of whichever grass type you're growing. My favorite is the 'K' or, Potassium, which is the All 'Round. All of the points which Mr. Hayne makes are absolutely brilliant; he is my D.I. for my yard. I am merely his humble Plebe. Carry on.
I just got down my fertilizer with Tenacity this weekend. I'm in zone 5a. I haven't even had to cut the grass yet except around my raised garden beds (damn good soil!).
I was playing golf this past weekend in N. Michigan, and spring has barely started for them up there. Not even buds on trees yet, of course they get a ton of lake effect weather up there so it’s normal to be a few weeks behind the southern part of the state, but I was quite surprised how behind the season is up there this year.
Well, I would love this to be peak green, but on Friday it snowed where I live (Western Massachusetts) and snowed twice the week before. The ten-day average soil temperature has been hovering slightly above 50 and the five-day average is only 53 degrees. Peak green is still a ways away.
Flagship has higher N and K then you will find in most ferts, and for sure has higher iron... it just works yardmastery.com/collections/fertilizers-granular/products/24-0-6-flagship-with-3-iron-and-bio-nite%E2%84%A2#

I've had it the garage for two weeks. Finally put it down yesterday. Pretty excited for results.
Oh ya baby you know I am getting me some Flagship!!!!
Just ordered some. Excited to see how it looks!
Can wait for that Florida Flavored smell of success! Just ordered some.

Flagship is no joke! All of my neighbors use Trugreen or similar companies, I dominate them!!! Yard Mastery products are the real deal!
Dominator vs Dominated.... funny thing is Allyns neighbors grass isn't bad it looks good. It just shows how good Allyns grass is, simply amazing 👏
Facts
It just comes to show even the most worthy opponent can be dominated!
Imagine if they hit it with some N and some Iron.

Here in Houston TX still using your 12-12-12 Yard Master. My grass is almost 100% back 🤗 Thank You!
I'm in Conroe and have been doing the same. We had 5.5 inches of rain here so we've had a burst if growth!

One of the best footage and production dudes on TH-cam. Great content brother.
Just threw down your prodiamine and flagship today. 49,000 square feet. Your app is fantastic. Very helpful.
Oh Allyn , it just snowed here yesterday lol so back end of the peak for us Canadians! Great video and informative as always!
Hahaha it snowed on April 30th for us. Still a few weeks from proper green lawns. May two-four is the Canadian derby weekend IMO.
@@H3110NU that is accurate 😂 we are always such a late start up

Flagship is great. Put it down beginning of April in SW PA and the lawn is so dark green. Going to order another bag to dominate for Memorial Day.
hoorah!! dominate all the way!
Another great video for people out there trying to Dominate there neighbors. Thanks Allen...

I ordered a bag of the 24-0-6 Flagship from Yard Mastery a few days ago. Nice to see the run down anyway!
My yard made the video!! Love these products!!
I have become that guy who loves to mow his beautiful lawn.
Where can I get that hat????
CHERISH EACH MOWment !!!
I love it
Just ordered me some Flagship. Love that these bags are 15,000 sq ft. Just a smidge over my lawn footage.
🤘
I've always preached starter ferts with an Ironite dose. I like 25-25-25 and Ironite. Well balanced jolt of goodness.
I put down the 7-0-20 in late march 3 lb. Per 1000 then have micro dosed , 3 oz per k. 18-0-1 & micro green 0-0-2 . H.O.C. 3/4" thick and green!!!
Gotta go mow just taking the tips off every day.
Question for you how often can I fertilize my lawn? I live in Southern California
But Last fall I had put down put down a high Nitrogen with a High Potash and as you said..........Line has been DOMINATED this spring!!!!!!!!!
I’m in the transition zone and my yard looks the best around the 4th of July. I’ve only mowed 2 this year. The old dead grass is finally not visible.
Thank You for your tips Mr. A you have helped me out so much in getting a green lawn that you will Love
Thanks, always helpful and funny at the same time.
Great video. Don't think anything wrong with university sites however. That's been source of truth for many many youtubers.
