This video helped me more than full-on reviews in my purchase decision. It went from "This could fill the crunchier euro gap in my collection" to "This will be a cool addition once I get a more hardcore gaming group going". Kudos and thanks.
Well, I've seen how the rules relate to the board by the way you explained each space on each cog. Like, in Viticulture my beginner friends won't have to ask me what worker placement spaces mean every other turn. This is a more dense board with less explicit explanations and more icon-based reminders.
Hope you were able to retain the information too! I talk relatively quickly and it’s all scripted, so that’s how I can keep it quick but still have a lot of info.
This was perfect and exactly what I needed (I'm a few turns into a game on BGA and was struggling with what I was doing wrong!) So quick and clear! Thank you from this blitzkateer!
First of, great video! Second: oh wow, I've been playing the game wrong this whole time! When I built a building using Uxmal's pay with corn slot I paid according to the exchange rate instead of two corn per resource :S. Thanks!
I already painted the gears so I don't know what would be in the video! It was also a long time ago (I painted them before assembling anything because I didn't want the board to get in the way). I basically mixed acrylic paint together to try to match the colors of the box and board and then painted in the lines (after painting the whole gear with watery tan/brown color).
I actually haven’t played the game since 2016, so I don’t know! I think I still enjoy it (and I enjoyed my last play of it), but since I haven’t actually played it in so long it’s hard to be sure. I still own it though.
I painted the gears before I put together the board, so they're a lot more colorful than what comes in the box. The rest of the board should be standard.
You talk waaaaay too fast! There is no time to absorb what you say before you shoot more rules. No idea how the other commenters think this is a good explanation video.
I know what you mean byt, you do have the ability to pause and rewind any part that you need to. You can repeat as any times as needed. With subtitles too it really isn't a problem.
I agree. I don't want to stop and rewind the video over and over to understand what was said. A perfect solution is to adjust the video settings and change the speed to .75 normal. It is much better after doing this. Nice, comprehensive video.
@@LeRoi81 I understand it feels wasted having to rewind but the all the bits you do get first time it is quick. Anything else just hit 10 second rewind option and you're away.
Best rules refresher on the internet!
Thanks!
Wow - this was industrial-strength game instruction. No fluff, just get on with it and get it done. Loved it!
I usually watch rules vids on 2x speed. That turned out to be a massive mistake for this video!
Good job 👍
Probably the best rules explanation I've seen.

You’re welcome! That’s good that you’re able to tell that about a game from the rules!

I'm a UX researcher who does game design as a hobby, that also must have helped 😅
How is this possible? I've watched 2 other tutorials, both are 3x longer but this one covers the most information by far? What magic is this?
Hope you were able to retain the information too! I talk relatively quickly and it’s all scripted, so that’s how I can keep it quick but still have a lot of info.
Really nice rules video. I really just needed to refresh on the rules, this video was perfect. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
gosh, you explained a complex game quickly and well - thank you
You’re welcome!
Nice refreshment of the rules. Thanks for video!
You’re welcome!

So quick and clear! Thank you from this blitzkateer!
You're welcome! Glad I could help!
I love that you keep it quick like the podcast. excellent.
I love the paint job on your gears. The central Tzolk'in calendar gear, in particular, looks stunning.
Thanks! I tried to match the bright colors from the box and board art for the center gear.
Oh, so the gears you get from the game are plain?
This was really well done! Thanks for making this!
Another outstanding video! Awesome summary to refresh my memory. Please keep these coming!
Thanks! Let me know if you have any requests (although I'm limited to games that I/my friends own).
Impressive: fast yet clear. Thank you.
This is like a lecture. That I actually understood.
I hope that's a good thing.
It is :)
Appreciated this very good rules refresher
Wow, that was fast! Subscribed!
Love how concise this was
Thanks! That was the goal!

+Angel Carrete Thanks! I'm glad the video helped clarify a rule!
Such a wonderful explanation of this game! About to go play now!
WHOA! Absolutely phenomenal thank you!
You're welcome! Hope it helped!
Great express explanation!
Thanks!
You're faster than Shatabdi. Will come back to this tutorial once I have the game
perfect for a rules refresh, thank you :)!
You’re welcome!
Would you do a video on gear painting? :)
Great video
Thanks!
Where did you buy this version? It's so colourful! The version in the game shop in my town is not so colourful
I painted the gears when I first got the game! They all started out tan colored (which is probably the same as the version at your game shop)
What paint did you use for the wheels? I really like the way you colored them
Thanks! I just used some acrylic paint I had lying around. I mixed the colors myself (I just get the primary colors + white and black).
Board Game Blitz Hi! did You first use a primer spray?
Wow how long did it take to colour that center wheel
Tom Kot I don’t remember, maybe a week? I painted it right when I got the game before I played it, back in 2013.
@@BoardGameBlitz Impressive! I wouldn't have the patience to do that
great explanation!
What a feat Ambie!
Cool summary
Thanks!
Hi Ambie, still enjoy this game?
I actually haven’t played the game since 2016, so I don’t know! I think I still enjoy it (and I enjoyed my last play of it), but since I haven’t actually played it in so long it’s hard to be sure. I still own it though.
Why does your board look so different than mine?
I painted the gears before I put together the board, so they're a lot more colorful than what comes in the box. The rest of the board should be standard.
Woah. Slow down please.
Why is your version so much prettier than mine!? I want this one! lol
I painted my gears when I first got the game!
@@BoardGameBlitz Brilliant Idea! I love it!
Blitz is right. You explained Tzolk'in in under 8 minutes.
Blink and you miss it but great work!
Thanks!

@@leeclements323 So then where's the benefit of such a fast instruction? Paul's speed is way better.
@@LeRoi81 I understand it feels wasted having to rewind but the all the bits you do get first time it is quick. Anything else just hit 10 second rewind option and you're away.

You talk really fast lol
