Very good information, thanks. My son lived in Kitsilano and I went for 10 days to visit and loved Vancouver. You could walk so many places around the city and the water was so close and the mountains. Very beautiful!
Toronto and GTA is much more condensed and unfortunately both Vancouver and Toronto are so expensive to buy or rent.

Hi Cathy! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. Vancouver is definitely a beautiful city. And you are right about both cities being expensive. Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to come back for another visit!

Thank you for all your comprehensive very important details currently about Vancouver. Used to live ( my first love ❤️) until the early 80’s but moved to Toronto because of my career. I’m done Happily retired & alone. Finally there’s a chance to move back home . Actively looking & preparing . I commented to one of your vid ( Toronto to Vancouver pls read) & very happy about your honest truth about rain etc. Thank you. The Westend is my first choice ( lived in Richmond, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey/ Langley before ) 👍😜❤️🇨🇦

Gas town gives me NY vibes! Having lived in NY for 11 years the homelessness doesn't scare me and it's obvious that the area will rise in a few years so now would be the time to get in on some lower cost real estate.

@reannewu812 You are right. It's definitely one of the most urban neighborhoods in Vancouver. If you can handle the grit, it can be excellent value for it's proximity to downtown Vancouver. Plenty of people love living in the area BUT it's not for everyone. Sounds like it might be a great fit for you, though!

Nice review thank you . What do you think about downtown eastside around e hasting street and And strathcona park area ? I saw some few condo on e hasting which look a bit new . Thank you .

Thank you, @bobbytoure4084! The epicenter of the downtown eastside is Main and Hastings. The closer that you are to that, the more impact that will have. So it will depend on your comfort level with what's going on in the downtown eastside. I don't see that changing for a very long time. As a result of that, though, you can find some really good values as it's not a neighborhood for everyone. So long as you go in with your eyes wide open, it can be a wonderful neighborhood. I know a lot of people that really love living in Strathcona.

@@LivingInVancouver-BC thank you so much for your reply. Yes I saw some condo near Hastings and Raymur avenue, I was a bit suprise by the « low price » for vancouver dowtown for a almost new condo… now I understand. Overalls I loved my vacation in vancouver, I will come back to explore more in the future for sure . Keep in touch :-) .

      No problem, @bobbytoure4084!
That's a bit on the fringe of the center of the downtown eastside and it's a strip that is going to see a lot of development in the coming years...but, it's edgy/rough still. You do get good value in that building and when north facing also some epic views.
I hope that you are able to come back to Vancouver and explore it some more. There's a lot to discover!

I was there for six months too many and it was the most boring city I've ever lived in. The nature is beautiful but so are many other places and its not at the expense of my wallet and social life.

Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts. It's too bad you weren't able to have a positive experience here in Vancouver, thankfully that's not the experience for most of us...but it sounds as though you found a better fit for the lifestyle that you want to lead.
