Vancouver, officially the City of Vancouver, is a coastal seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. The 2011 census recorded 603,502 people in the city, making it the eighth largest Canadian municipality.[1] The Greater Vancouver area of around 2.4 million inhabitants is the third most populous metropolitan area in the country,[1] the second largest city on the United States-Canada border, and the most populous in Western Canada. Vancouver is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada; 52% of its residents have a first language other than English.[4][5] Vancouver is classed as a Beta global city. The City of Vancouver encompasses a land area of about 114 square kilometres, giving it a population density of about 5,249 people per square kilometre (13,590 per square mile). Vancouver is the most densely populated Canadian municipality, and the fourth most densely populated city with over 250,000 residents in North America, behind New York City, San Francisco,[6] and Mexico City.
The original settlement, named Gastown, grew up on clearcuts on the west edge of the Hastings Mill logging sawmill's property, where a makeshift tavern had been set up on a plank between two stumps and the proprietor, Gassy Jack, persuaded the curious millworkers to build him a tavern, on 1 July 1867. From that first enterprise, other stores and some hotels quickly appeared along the waterfront to the west. Gastown became formally laid out as a registered townsite dubbed Granville, B.I. ("B.I" standing for "Burrard Inlet"). As part of the land and political deal whereby the area of the townsite was made the railhead of the CPR, it was renamed "Vancouver" and incorporated shortly thereafter as a city, in 1886. By 1887, the transcontinental railway was extended to the city to take advantage of its large natural seaport, which soon became a vital link in a trade route between the Orient, Eastern Canada, and Europe.[7][8] As of 2009, Port Metro Vancouver is the busiest and largest port in Canada, and the most diversified port in North America.[9] While forestry remains its largest industry, Vancouver is well known as an urban centre surrounded by nature, making tourism its second-largest industry.[10] Major film production studios in Vancouver and Burnaby have turned Greater Vancouver and nearby areas into one of the largest film production centres in North America,[11][12] earning it the film industry nickname, Hollywood North.[13][14][15]
Vancouver is consistently named as one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life,[16][17] and the Economist Intelligence Unit acknowledged it as the first city to rank among the top-ten of the world's most liveable cities[18] for five consecutive years.[19] Vancouver has hosted many international conferences and events, including the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, UN Habitat I, Expo 86, the World Police and Fire Games in 1989 and 2009; and the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics which were held in Vancouver and Whistler, a resort community 125 km (78 mi) north of the city.[20] In 2014, following thirty years in California, the annual TED conference made Vancouver its indefinite home. Several matches of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup were played in Vancouver, including the final at BC Place Stadium.[21]

sure, except if you're crossing the border for commercial purposes and sending stuff to the US, you need to have commercial invoices sorted out and/or pay import tax
You will get unpleasant levels of attention or delay from US Customs if you are bringing goods across the border to post to people in the US. Work with a broker or have your stock in the US

Part of the purpose of the channel is to show the raw unfiltered data of what life is like in unique locations. At the moment I focus on popular tourist destinations but would like to also focus on places like where your students are from for example. J. Utah, it could be a great idea, but I would suggest you to do a one hour film to show the difference between the Rio for tourists and the Rio for the cariocas (who was born in Rio). Possibly it will shock everybody because it's impossible to understand how such differences could exist in the same country, in the same city and sometimes in the same district. If you don't mind, and having a little time to watch I want to recommend you a short film, produced by a friend in one slum close to the richest district from rio.

I'd love to take on a project like this. I see a lot of this contrast in my travels. It's easy for the average person to become insulated into certain segments of society and be completely unaware of just how good their situation is comparatively speaking. I feel there's a collective value when we all have a better perspective of the whole spectrum. I'm going to watch the video below tonight. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to give me this insight.

What I like about this is that the streets are very animated with stores, restaurants and lots of people, all over the city! It looks quite lively and interesting to explore. There are lots of very cool buildings too!

Vancouver is boring, montreal is an adult playground, toronto is the world living in one city. Toronto has the most flavour, montreal you will have a lot of fun and is beautiful, vancouver has beautiful greenery but other than that nothing really.

Vancouver is the best city in Canada easily: mountain hiking, fishing, rooftop bars, boating, museums, interesting history, best real estate in Canada, fastest growing economy in Canada, & clean. Vancouver has amenities that no other city in Canada can offer. Vancouver is so much better than the rest of Canada, you'll think you're driving in the USA when you go through the downtown.

I came to this video after reading horror stories about driving in Vancouver. Is it really as dangerous as everyone says? No respect for signaling and pedestrians jump out putting the driver in danger?
Went there during early July, and being from Texas, I loved the weather there. It wasnt too cold and definitely was not hot.
I really liked the fact that at least where I stayed, you could walk everywhere.

I go there about 4 Times a year and each season is as beautiful as the other. My favourite is looking at the ocean from the middle of downtown. Can’t get that in many places.

I once visited Vancouver on my big tríp through North America in 1986/87 . I was there during the Expo and loved the great landscape: Stanley Park, Japanese Gardens, the sound with its ferries, though I idealized the place so much that I had forgotten about all its cold and sterile architecture though.

I noticed you have missed some really important tourists area like Gastown, Chinatown, English Bay, Stanley Park and Yaletown area. Would see some really amazing scenery if you do one in the summer or sunny Spring. Good job.

Absolutely beautiful view of the skyscrapers going over the bridge and first entering the city. Though I'd never been to Canada, I was briefly in Seattle.

The Yale Hotel on Granville Street at 1:30 is where many blues legends played including Long John Baldrey who lived in Vancouver for many years, Savoy Brown whom i saw play at the Yale about 20 years ago, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter,John Lee Hooker, and even Jimmy Page.
