The new colors are really nice - regarding the hook safe, its all about taste and what you like more, but I have to admit there isn't anything like the tactile feedback from that capping system :D
@@rob_ward With the mechanical hook safe threads you know it is capped, but with magnet if you shake it hard enough it will fly off. It is just the peace of mind. Also strong magnet in a shirt pocket can be an issue for people with implanted medical equipment, or credit cards, etc. None of these cons present in the older design.
@@martinlebl631 I accept the potential issue with medical equipment and credit cards, but I have had several magnetic capped Visconti pens (Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Mirage) and they all have a very secure closure which gives me no cause for concern. A big plus for me is the absence of the hook safe threads, which I always found to be uncomfortable for my grip style and led to me selling on a HS Steel Age a few years ago. I’m glad that Visconti have found a way for me to love this iconic model again.
@@rob_ward Adding a nice small ink window would be great. Doesn't have to be huge as they did with a few of the models based on the black classic version, but something near the section would be very convenient. I love my Visconti Opera, but generally prefer smooth section to body transition, like old Parker models and their clones with snap on caps, or flush threads like Pilot 823s. Those are perfect as you can hold them just about anywhere with no trouble. I would probably go with Visconti Opera Master, which would be a great replacement for my fifteen year old Visconti Opera, and would be a great upgrade to the old classic which is only cartridge convertor unlike the double reservoir vacuum filling mechanism of the master model. Still use it daily, and it is still going strong, so will be with me for a while. It is the pre-paladium era gold nib, and it works great, but it writes B even though it is marked M, but as I understand it that was the case with most of them. I like B sized nib, so it doesn't bother me anyway, and after all these years I still love that nib. Probably the best B nib I have, even though it isn't officially one. I have some BB and OBB nibbed pens as well, but that is a different bowl of wax entirely.

Beautiful detailed video my friend Emy. Thanks for the same. The new 14K nib looks very sporty and beautiful. When compared to the 23K Palladium how soft and smooth is the new 14K Gold nib? Nice of Visconti to come up with these colors. The white one is my choice.
Miyamoto Musashi it’s quite strong , much much more stronger than the Van Gogh collections. 100% it’s going to be secure if it hanging when it’s carried
Hey David - it’s the same nib in size like the one in the 18k Gold and I think it’s a 8, nevertheless it’s bigger than the bock size #6 so it must be a 8
They wanted to make them different and they did - I think its cool to take a different approach on design considering that all of them had the hook safe mechanism till this point :D #evolution
Fantastic review - I'm sold on the pen but the hardest part is deciding on the colour.
It really is! For me is red or blue... one of these :D
Love the new colors, but not crazy about the magnetic cap, as the older hook safe threads seemed a lot more reliable.

On what are you basing your statement about the reliability of the magnetic capping mechanism? Do you own one and have experienced problems?

These pens look awesome...the white is by far my favorite!
Thank you - my choice would be red just for the looks but again on very close would be the white
The red looks good, so like a fresh live lava. If you already have the original black lava pen, then white companion for contrast looks good too.
you can never go wrong with Black but the very next color that I would dare to put close to black would be Red or White :D
Great, in-depth review. It’s got to be the Blizzard (white) for me. 👌
That is the one that captivated me as well :D
I have the Blue Lagoon, and I will be looking to add the Blizzard/White next month when it’s available 😍
It’s available now with us 👍🏻 if you decide to go with Pen Venture for your order let me know and I’ll take care of everyting
Pen Venture oh yay! Thank you so much. I will have to take a look at your website!

Great video! Choices: 1)Red 2)White 3)Mustard. Red and black always looked together in my opinion. Probably next on my to buy list. :)
Exacly like I sayed - if it was for me to get a white pen - this would be it and red would be my first pick of them 3
@@pen.venture Mustard...like the new Sailor...who looks for pens in mustard color?
Beautiful handwriting!
Thank you frank - looking forward on having more content on handwriting soon

The 14k gold nib is les soft than the 23k palladium but more softer than the 18k - it’s in between these 2. Thank you K
Pen Venture Thanks Emy
How strong is the magnetic cap? Would you feel confident carrying the pen hanging from the pen cap/clip?
Miyamoto Musashi it’s quite strong , much much more stronger than the Van Gogh collections. 100% it’s going to be secure if it hanging when it’s carried
@@pen.venture I would feel better with the hook safe threads.
Bel video, grazie! Bellissima penna! I hope became little cheaper!
Thank you Lorenzo - well email me and ill see what i can do
The standard bronze age was my grail pen until the white came out :Q
These are so nice and the color variation does make a lot of difference now :D
beautiful pen, is this a #6 or #8 nib?

@@pen.venture on my wish list...... haha
In this case we need to talk :))

If only red, white, and pink sauce had the hook safe.. I’d like the red.
