I was playing Rein last night. I won a single team fight and the entire enemy team went orisa, bastion, sym, kiriko, zen and I no longer had fun.
Same thing, just played Roadhog for fun. After couple fights I was playing against Orissa Ana Reaper
i feel your pain
I had the same thing
Fr
Oh noooooooo, I had one where it was Mei, Pharah, Ana, Zen, Orisa. And In QP of all things
Your tank is supposed to protect you… but who’s protecting the tank? 😢
Mei, Lmao atleast thats what I do.
Another tank usually :'(
Supports, the same ones you want to get nerfed, it’s a gg for y’all lol.
The second tank all they probably had to do was make it so you can only pick one tank that had shield and another tank that didn't there is a few of them
My off-tank Brig lmao.
Tank players: "I wanna impact the game, please!"
Supports: "Nah. Cease activities. Stop attempts at fun."
dps:i wont do anything to stop the enemy from running you down
Tank players getting the support treatment for once and now it is a problem and not a skill issue. Forget the fact supports were being run down like dogs for many seasons but the moment it is tank turn the whole game has to change
When a support dies, if you're skilled you can still possibly win a teamfight if you're skilled and work together.
When a tank dies, you just can't play because the damage sponge frontline is gone, you get next to no CC, and can't have a chance to heal mid-fight
@@PaulSmith-nb6mdomg stfu ya lil metal rank scrub. If you can’t understand why it’s a problem that the SINGLE tank on the team is getting deleted and has no impact then you clearly don’t understand the fundamentals of overwatch or team based objective shooters.
@@tau-5794 This is false because you can't argue with a skill diff reasoning and then say there is no skill diff issue the opposite way.
Blizz just announced Overwatch 3. Since tank queues were super long and nobody wanted to play tank. Instead of fixing the heros, they just made 3, 4v4 - no more tank, no more problems.
Also everyone now can heal and self heal
@@batatannaI miss when Bastion had his self heal. Really was a nice part of the kit when you had bad supports...
@@KogaHarine SHHHHHHH don't disturb our support overlords, they might come for us all
tansk have merged with supports. Rien is now called big brig and his health and sheild are a quarter of what they were and fire strike only heals allies now. Also he is 1/3rd shorter now
@@batatanna So, Halo is overwatch perfected. We must go back to monkey.
Hot take: Playing against a decent Doomfist is the most unfun experience in the game. Even if we win.
The horse and laser lady are much, much more unfun, because they just slow the game down and stop you from doing anything but constantly counterswapping back and forth to have a hope at winning each team fight.
With Doom, fights are faster and more energetic, either you fail to focus and he gets to go on a rampage, or you coordinate and he gets vaporized because he's the squishiest tank. It's optimally almost purely skill based whether you win or lose rather than who has the most healing rammed up their backside for each fight.
Flats honestly could have played better if he charges the doom on cooldown. He gave the doom to much freedom but it’s easier said then done
@@tau-5794I’ve just learned to “stop shooting the horse” and play around her and I am biased toward laser lady because I like to play her lol. With Doom, it’s just the constant CC that I find very annoying.
"Constant CC" is the rocket punch that stuns you for less than 1 second? He is also the hardest tank to play mechanically, positionally and decision making wise, he should have some reward if you play him well, unlike just holding shield with a rein@@ljb5163
playing against a good ball is way more annoying than a good doom
I always feel so bad when I have a bad game as tank because I know how frustrating and annoying it is to play behind a bad tank. Then while I'm down in the pits of despair I'll see a light above me and someone will lean over and look down into my despair pit just to shout "tank diff" at me and leave.
Ever since they announced 5v5 I knew it was gunna be dogshit. The creep is a lot less impactful when you have an off tank to eat or bubble the anti/sleeps. Bring back 6v6 and maybe seperate the tank into main and off tank roles!
They reduced CC because the game had too much of it, but also reduced the potential targets to said CC so it essentially didn't change at all
I'm actually not sure if it would matter anymore with the off tank or not,as far as I remember orissa and her shield were the problem back in the day and they took that away from her,not to mention seems like the shields have way reduced hp from back in the day
They can just actually balance the tank role…
So rebalance the entire game around 6v6 again because tank players in top500 (which is really just top 200 with the amount of alts these guys make) keep complaining about support? literally a skill issue bro adapt and overcome you're not in GM1 lobbies lol
@@batatanna We're close to being back to the same amount of CC in the game then we did in OW1. It's just a different kind now.
I will never understand how we miss the pins, and they just bounce off... like that was a clean pin.
There were MULTIPLE clean pins, but noooo, couldn't pin the broadside of a barn apparently
One side of the pin will suck them in, the other bounces them off
@@justinhorror1765 And if its pointblank in the middle, it's a 50/50 because game has to decide.
Pin has been scuffed since the beginning of ow2 is2g. The number of times I will charge 1 person and have them fly off to narnia instead of being pinned is too damn high and then there will be those times when i'm nowhere near the rein pinning and somehow get pinned. Wonkiest hitbox after Illari gun.
As a tank main since OW1 release I can confirm , tank never felt this bad to play, not only to you melt in 2 sec you also cant do shit for half the game because of all the CC and debuffs you take.
damn tanks tanking who’d of thunk it lmao tanks ruled ow1 now they don’t gotta take turns
@@joewylie8187 tanks did not rule for the whole of ow1, you forget brig meta? bastion sym metas? the unbelievably op mercy meta?

@@Feynvel tiny few week periods when you ask someone how was ow1 the first thing they will mention is double shield goats hog orisa pull let’s be real they ran the game now they don’t have that power and sulk
Rein is a rough experience. He was my main tank in OW1 but he's just so much easier to bully to death with sleep, nade, discord, hack, hindermiester, bastion, orisa... etc compared to other tanks.
Only thing i find more frustrating than the counter picks,i just don’t switch because i want to play rein so I’ll do it, is how inconsistent the pin hitbox is.
Once a rein pinned me and I instantly pinned back but because he moved to the left slightly he just bounced off
If anything, at least this video gave me the confidence boost I needed because I can see it's not just me. I main Tank and it's been pretty shit, even at lower ranks. I just feel like I can't do anything and start thinking "maybe I'm just ass". I have a lot to improve, obviously, fairly new to this game. But it's nice to know the Tank pain is shared.
yup. i tried tank once last season, never again. props to you for sticking with it, though.
you do realize the difference between your games and a flats game is night and day? there is no tank issue in metal ranks lol
@@seapower2109 I know it's CONSIDERABLY worse at his level, I'm just talking from my current experience at these lower ranks. Some games are won easily because a lot of people don't know what they're doing, but the games where the enemy support is gaming... it's pretty rough. When every play you try to make is nullfiied by their support it feels like a completely different game, and if it's frustrating to me, I can only imagine how it must be at higher ranks.
This is pretty much the only role I enjoy on this game anymore but I completely understand why people think otherwise 💀
You are completely at the mercy of the enemy team when you play Tank, they can just decide to go Orisa, bastion, reaper, ana and zen completely nullify any impact or fun you were having and make the rest of your time in the match miserable and obviously at lower ranks your teamates might not have the skill or knowledge to support you in overcoming that comp but they blame you for failing to tank even though you can not do ANYTHING against it no matter how hard you try or how well you play.
It’s 5v5 not 1v5
this sounds like more a people are shitty problem not a tank rebalancing problem but ok
Orisa is one of the few tanks that bitch me every 1v1 or even when Im Reaper being pocketed because of all her abilities just make my damage feel pointless
@@JackofNoTrades634 your damage is pointless because you’re probably shooting her while she has 2 supports behind her filling her asshole with heals. I usually go zarya and straight up ignore her until she is the last one standing. When you’re playing DPS your numbers 1 targets should be supports and DPS not Orisa
4:16 ah, the tank experience I've been getting
4:22 truly the tank experience of all time
Gotta love the tank solidarity between you and that doom
Its a fun but very frustrating role, i dont play tank much anymore but its fun when ur team actually does something
tank isnt fun anymore tbh
I want an event that adds back 6v6 just to experience if it would be any better in Overwatch 2
As tank, you may as well just have a button that makes every single player on the enemy team use their cc/boops on you at once
Pressing Q works
honestly that would be a huge buff for tanks
I loved the moment in the video where he gets pushed by doom, then brig, then slept and then anti.
Like every 30 seconds I mean
@@nasty_uzi5184 I’m surprised you can’t hear the Lifeweaver/Baptiste/Kiriko players laughing in the distance
What does cc mean?
Someone should suggest to Blizzard to add another tank slot and make it 6v6, all of these problems would be greatly minimized and we wouldn't need the support creep either cus they'd be safer in a backline and not need a kit thats better than the two other roles combined..
There you go using common sense again. Lol. Seriously, 6v6 would fix most of the problems 5v5 created. I'm just waiting for them to "fix" supports. More than likely they will be nerf into the ground (back to OW2 launch levels) and then we'll have 2 roles that will suck.
@@TVK37what common sense???.
Either you guy's never touch Overwatch 1 or have a memory of a goldfish.
In OW1 both Tank players will run off trying to DPS, leaving the entire team alone or one Tank player had to take on two Tanks by themselves because the other Tank decided to be a flank DPS.
@@TVK37 Exactly. And as they end up inevitably overtuning one role or another in compensation because they don't know how to break the rock-paper-scissor template they created themselves.
@@number0017
If your tank does that then you play as tracer genji etc and dive with them lol
so rebalance the entire game because tank players are crying? boo hoo cry me a river bro jesus christ
Hey flats ive started watching your gameplay recently along with others, and it has really helped me. I went from hard stuck mid gold to getting to low diamond in about 2 weeks.
It's already hard killing a support with a dvA bomb, giving them more immortality is just insane
Because dva bomb ulti is ass unless you play gold level matches
dva bomb is assssss,it only kills opponents when it moves to a spot it shouldnt be on accident
@@KURENANI I love that he chose dva the infinite damage mitigation tank that also has an undying ability and does insane damage
this why people dont use dva bomb to kill anymore. the explosion is cosmetic, the real use is using ult when youre just about to die for a fresh mech.

Rein would be so much better if pin ACTUALLY WORKED. You know what, screw 250 damage pin, screw extra health, screw 3 second shatter, JUST PROGRAM PIN COMPETENTLY THATS ALL I ASK
If someone jumps while on stairs I *physically* cannot make pin connect with them.
9:39 Tea is ready
Im a plat rein main and earlier this week someone in my comp game looked at my profile
Saw i main rein
Swapped to lucio and ana and i had fun on rein fir the first time in a month on rein
Only because the enemy didn’t have the “anti rein comp”
Its crazy how no matter what you have on your team the tank experience revolves around the enemy team deciding if you see victory or defeat
If the enemy team decides your outcome you would never win what a dumb take

The "All Roles" button has just turned into 100% tank for me this season. It was usually 70-75% in the past...
I've had a couple AMAZING games as Rein this season, but that's about it. I don't even know how those happened.
Seeing the same, used to be supp. I wish it auto threw in a prioritised DPS, Supp role every now and then just for variety.
Ah yes, the lore! Flat's lamp and his four shirts. Just you wait, one day like a certain little toaster that rocking chair shall return!
this video was absolute hillarius, keep up the good work.
Also I'm deeply sorry for the poor tank players out there crying their souls out, but its just too funny.
Ngl as a very low level player tank is fun but I’ve noticed as I climb higher in the ranks it’s harder and harder to have an impact on the game
I like playing all roles but support is my favorite. Tanks are way underpowered and supports are way overpowered. I shouldn't be able to bully a tank as support that is ridiculous I should be able to run away if my cooldowns are managed properly but not straight bully a tank.
Personally i find having a lifeweaver as rein makes it so much more fun, like on dorado thr enemy doesnt expect a rein to fly up to high ground. Weaver making things a bit easier sometimes
This might be a bad take but I feel with the rein charge ability you don't get much freedom of movement I feel it should be closer to a D'va dive in terms of control, the way it is now it's so clunky even top level players are running into walls and that's not meant as an insult to them.
Its becauss you pretty much have to start charging where you think the enemy is going to be rather than where you want to go, and they can react to it very easily. I only find myself charging at super close range now because they have an hour to react otherwise
I had a game with that moira 'moomoo' yesterday wtf
rough day to be a rein main. Play your character and then have a wee bit over the fun limit, which will cause the entire team switches to counter you, and you're just left to either essentially throw, or swap off.
Used to main tank (junker queen, rein, and orisa) but its literally not fun anymore. Go out and get melted in 2 seconds by a bastion, soldier, reaper, or sym. Been playing only dps for the past 2 seasons
That’s so not epic.
4:21 Bro got erased from existence. There’s nothing left.
When you do well on tank the enemy then goes tank killers and your team doesn't know how to fight that despite it being in almost every match.
god i cannot wait till midseason so supports aren't unkillable, the fact that support players are already crying about their broken role being nerfed though is insane. i just hope the game gets fun again especially for tank players :)

The fact Sleep Dart which is a normal CD ability has LONGER effect on heros [esp a tank (remember it's even reduced on them)] than a fully charged ULTIMATE (Earthshatter) tells you everything you need to know about how miserable it is to play tank at the moment.
FLEX ROLE = TANK ROLE , I missed those days from OW1 and early OW2 that flex lands you to 80% Support, 19% Tank, 1% DPS role. Now its straight up 100% Tank role
I always feel flattered when the whole team need to counter pick against my tank 😮💨
I basically HAVE to play Sigma or Ramattra 😂😂😂 Can't wait for the Hog buff though.
Flats after feeding “tank has no impact I can’t do anything”
Unpopular opinion : Ana is 70 % of the reason why tank feels miserable to play and the game would be a thounsand times better if she just straight up didn't exist. You get rid of her, what are the most annoying cc there is left ? Mei slow and hindered. There are others but more situational compared to those twos and even tho healing output would still be a problem mainly because of Kiriko and Baptiste, the role would be so much better.
I actually don’t disagree with you and I love playing Ana lmao
Based take tbh
All of her abilities are used most effectively against tanks
Idk. She is definitely a part of the problem, and needs her nade reworked, but I don't think tank would feel any better if she never existed. With the amount of movement and saving abilities (suzu, life grip, etc.) there are, I still think tank will feel useless. I mean hell, you can play Rein, catch someone in a charge, and end up not doing anything because you either got hindered, a Kiri teleported out of nowhere and healed them, they used a escape/invulnerability ability after you hit the wall, or just something else saved them.
id say make all supp abilities 50% less effective on tanks. or at least try it
@@captainfungi8312
Tank needs to put out pressure and make space. All of that gets completely cancelled by an Ana throwing an anti in your face or sleeping you. A Kiriko Suzu or Bap Immortality field only slow you down for a little bit and enemies tp'ing away is in line with your goal > Make space. @@captainfungi8312
Just got back into overwatch a couple of days ago been playing exclusively support (tank player back in OW1) and winning almost all my games. Today I tried to play tank again. Literally you cannot do anything if your supports aren’t better then the enemies. It’s some bad balancing/design if somehow the “tank” characters are more squishy then tracer.
I think sleep dart is a huge problem if ana is gonna get picked in 95 percent of games
Sleep is fine nade is too strong though

"my role is cosmetic" , enemy ram: literally most impact of his entire team - i think ur just getting old :3
In terms of usefulness
1. Healers (forever and always healers)
2. Tank (you basically shut down the enemy team unless they run snipers or flyers)
3. Damage (all the “good” ones require skill except Mei but honestly she’s just a stall hero)
The role is called Healers. I stopped saying Support back when Symmetra was removed from the Support role and changed to dps.
I actually like playing tank, but Reinhardt is frustrating af. Biggest punching bag in the game
frequent watcher, I really enjoyed the narrative of this video, the flow. it told a good story
Blizzard hates people having fun with fun heros - they want boring gameplay with boring heros.
4:23 you just fucking exploded😂😂😂 valid reaction
It's nutty to me that tanks in Overwatch, a genre of heroes that are designed to TANK damage and pull aggro of the enemy, are the ones that get melted the fastest, despite having the most armor, shields and health. Wacky
This is the first season I've ever lost 15 comp games straight as anything. Guess what role I was playing?
Dude, you need to try Paladins tanks XD
They have much more impact in game + we gave double tank meta. (Point tank and off tank)
I just go ball and take a "bullshit baffles brains" approach and just distract and confuse the enemies
The weight from 2 tanks is all on 1 now. I miss being the off tank
As a Reaper, the most tanks give me trouble are Orisa and JunkerQueen. For Orisa literally her existence counter and make me feel useless if she focuses me. Idkw but JunkerQueens beat my cheeks in everytime.
I think instead of lowering the ult you get from tanks, they should just straight up have a damage resistance and no healing resistance. I think that would make them way tankyer with a support even like Luico or Zen
I feel like all of these problems originally stemmed from the unnecessary power that they have given the support role. The very first few seasons of OW2 support lacked players, and the ones that did play support complained and complained that they were pretty much heal bots; pumping heals into a team that either A) dominates the enemy team, or B) gets absolutely rolled regardless of the immense difference in healing on both teams. So naturally, people complained because they believed their role had the least impact. I have 0 problem giving support players a little boost to help them defend themselves more and contribute more to the fight than just healing numbers. The problem here, is a role that wasnt as bad as everyone initially stated, was given WAY to much power. In my personal opinion, the lack of a second tank from the change of OW1 and OW2 caused supports to have 1 less teammate that would peel backwards for them; naturally making the game feel much different, like allowing the dps role to more effectively be able to freely dive. This could be a big reason why the support role felt off initially.
Flats has said this before: "No one likes getting their hero nerfed. Heroes get nerfed, people complain, and they have to listen to it. So naturally, instead of bringing down the power of a hero that is causing a problem, the devs instead will buff that heroes' counter because it also provides less negative feedback, leading to a massive power creep in the game" A prime example is the 'nerfing of mobility heroes in the game' by reworking mei's primary fire and cass's mag grenade, instead of figuring out a way to bring down the value and number these mobility heroes put out by tweaking their numbers. This power creep is a big reason why you go from 200 HP to 0 in less than a second after you get CC'd, and we've all been there. I think it's time to do a HUGE power creep nerf like they did in OW1, nerfing basically all of the heroes abilities and tweaking some numbers; the heroes that need it more so than the ones that dont. A good way to start would be removing the support role passive just like they did with the dps role passive!
I tried tank in ranked for the first. Im a new OW2 player been mostly playing QP. Hardest shit ever done on a video game in my life 😂
2:13 i was never book smart im money smart

Rein's the Genji of the tank role, everyone loves playing him and hes a very popular pick, but he's never allowed to be meta for anything longer than 2 weeks
this video came across my feed after an 8 game tank loosing streak
You know its bad when Flats starts sounding like a teapot that's cocking full blast.
at 10:42, how does the Ram not get stunned, your hammer went right through him and the impact was right below his feet?

That lamp is his light.
Actually gave up playing tank 2 seasons back. Never really played tank before but started playing queen around her first nerfs in season 2 (i dont remember anymore its been a while) but i had a lot of fun. Then it started kicking in and it was no longer playing tank, im actually playing who's gonna send me back to spawn the fastest simulator. Played other tanks too but it always ended up the same; bing focused by all debuffs while nothing is dying.
I remember being a tank main with dva in overwatch 1 and support was my second most played with mercy. I stop playing for a while then overwatch 2 came out and played for a couple of months and came back recently this month. I am now having the worst experience ever with dva and can’t even enjoy my once favorite play style and character either with all the supports and counters towards her 😭 this is the first time in my overwatch experience where I resulted to not only play more support then tank but also dps..
Imagine the rework giving rein a Y axis mobility skill on top of charge, + a more flexible shield/defense option (ultimate also increases his shield size like brigs)
Tank games are either extremely fun or complicated miserable. It's like rolling dice.
I opened TH-cam and this got recommended to me as a tank main
That last fight there tank seemed to be doing fine.
Ive never seen that lamp turned off, might as well be fake as far as i know

Feels bad man, Rein seriously needs some love, tanks have it rough Orisa shouldn't be the "go to" for all tank clashes, the balance is FAQed!
I WAS NEVER BOOK SMART IM MONEY SMART 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I hit masters on tank two seasons ago and have not played tank role comp since then.
The headache between not having fun playing and getting flamed by DPS/Support that don't have a clue about the current tank experience just isn't worth it imo
Doom falling off the map and saying "lag" nah wasnt lag XD
\*doomfist fucking falls and dies*
"lag"
Me and my friend was talking about this earlier. Reinhardt is just so weak now.
I feel like there needs to be more work being put into making sure that the rock paper scissors meta doesn't completely ruin the game experience like how it does now. Of course it makes sense for there to be some counters/game changing abilities, but when does the line get drawn? If i get a 4 man shatter thinking that im about to get a massive play and suzu just says "nah homie" it really does make you wonder what the point of even trying is. Why should I even try to make space when any work I put into it will be rendered null and void. Not to mention there is a massive disconnect primarily in the metal ranks where players still think that tanks are the most influential role. That alongside support players who don't understand just how powerful that class is, combines to make a pretty unenjoyable tank experience.
Glad I'm not a tank main...but they did take my dmg Doomfist main :(
9:41 i guess my water is nice and hot
Honestly the thing that really got you was thay Widow nuking your HP when you got slept.
I didn't play dps that much until this season, now i play it because i can't do tank anymore
This is the meta in which I have learned to play doomfist. And I really hated him since ow1, because how overcomplicated his gameplay seemed to be. And now it's almost the only way to have fun as tank.
1 tank is a bad idea its so baad
I play with my friends alot and i stopped playing tank after few games where i got naded and hacked.
you say tank is the worst role, that doomfist seemed to have fun
What is the music at the end
I played rein in some of my qp and comp games. 1 fight in full counters to the point i had to seitch bc yeah
You could argue that the horsies on a merry-go-round go up and down.
When you try to have fun on ball, but after the first team fight they swap to Orisa, sombra, bastion, ana, zen
If this doesn't explain just how bad it is to play Tank at the moment then I don't know what does
